#Add Scythes and Tie them to Spirit/Magic

I'd agree if they were hand sickles, the kind of stuff you'd use to harvest grain. I think a big bulky scythe doesn't fit the tone of the game personally
Also -1 for AI art.
We need more weapon variety. Right now pretty much every sword feels the same, every bow feels the same, etc. Warframes weapons feel distinct due to a combination of different firing rates/patterns and unique traits. This game needs that, because right now the only differentiator between weapons in the same group is their ability type and tier. Pretty much a non factor in moment to moment gameplay
hand sickles take away from the fantasy. Who doesn't like running around with a giant magical scythe ?
also "-1 for AI art"? not everyone is gifted with art , i just added those to show people an idea of what im talking about lol. Ppl are really like this? 🤣🤣
Absolutely!
Yes because there are plenty of examples you could have used, even finding a screenshot from other games
Combat schools are coming, I think this can change a little.
-1 scythes are not a combat weapon
ppl like you need to go back to reddit. If you're here to discuss a screenshot or an Ai art and not the topic see yourself out.
thats why its a fantasy game not a realistic game. Show me where magic bombs were utilized irl?
Can't tell if ppl are ragebaiting or actually this dense.
that actually sounds so cool! can't wait.
I could see Scythe as simply being a polearm variation tbf
In terms of realism, most people don't have a magical stick or stag horns either. And usually, when you throw your polearm away, it doesn't fling itself back to you.
I'm not especially big on Scythes myself, but I don't see any reason not to have them when you have wolverine claws and such already.

The rules state to please avoid AI art. You are doing yourself a disservice and taking weight of your suggestion through this. Please consider just not using an image. I know I am not gifted either so if I ever write about that Bat Pact I am not using images.

I agree with both big reaping scythes and smaller ones! +1 to this suggestion. Why? We are fantasy around here, so either a farmer based legend or your typical death reaper could work as well!
I also suggest the kusarigama. Weighted chain with scythe. Also a legend weapon that could serve as a whip like weaponry! I know we are doing a lot of western ambience right now, but we might also get some Eastern weaponry and flavor sometime later.
I think the AI Art rule is only for "Community Creations". I don't really see an issue using it to show a concept. Though admittedly, everyone knows what a scythe looks like.
Chain weapons are neat. In the same vein I'd like to see flails.
Though I think personally, if staying western themed, I wouldn't mind Hammers in general. I like weighty blunt attacks
Checked the rules, there's a line about refraining to use AI art in the discord in general under rule no. 4) Quality Standards
I do like fantasy scythes, but will this count as its own weapon type separate from all the current ones?
Battle hammers sound cool though!
i would love the use of using magic projectiles much like Destiny Rising's void scythe ultimate
I think it's a good idea but I think you using AI is wrong because there are so many things you could've grabbed a screenshot from
i just think people are focusing on the wrong thing here.
I also do think there should be pure melee scythes not just magic ones
it can be both tho
instead of a throw , it can send projectiles
i do want combat as well
someone also mentioned sickles , would be an interesting option for side arm
That would be good for a pure melee version with a throw
agreed
maybe can you just remove the images? I did point out it is breaking a rule and ppl generally don't like AI art
you mentioned Destiny Rising's void scythe ultimate maybe you could post a clip of that instead?
Ff14 reaper scythes also exist
There's a lot of places to pull from
1 image is Ai
i can't remove it without deleting everything
if people have an issue with 1 image that was pulled randomly from google images that happened to be Ai? report me

Consider that Silent Rose is a secret rebel crew made up of towns people who were described as too drunk or old and deaf to be hypnotised by Ode - "Mostly auld yins too blootered or dief to heed the spellsong"
Probably have access to tools like pitchforks, scythes and sickles, shovels, etc...

im not here to please anyone, im here to have a discussion about ideas
actually would be a amazing opportunity for scythes etc
Anyone have a link to DE talking about this?
introducing using existing art online instead then
warscythes are a thing but they have the blade mounted vertically
i've already stated where i stand on this discussion, you and anyone else is more than welcome to send screenshots of your own. (much like you already have). ty<3

For anyone concerned about realism, they have concept art for fighting with leaves, thorns and twigs.
the beauty indeed is the more fantastic the weapon, the better
we already also have voltaics and definitely will see more weapons of the style
maybe scythes of different types might just be gathered under other weapons too, but we will see
You say this but they are very evidently using HEMA inspiration for some melee weapons
I just think scythes suck and have never made sense, which is subjective

Hello Envoy,
AI art is not permitted on this server, and as such your message has been deleted. Please feel free to repost your idea without the use if AI generated images. Thank you.
Thanks, can't believe I missed this
just because a shooter is using modern weapons doesn't mean alien weapons can't be introduced. Plus this is an idea , nothing we say in here has a chance to even make it in the game. Its all just speculation.
If you're whole point is just "bc i said they suck and it's unrealistic" ?
thats fine , but everyone here is entitled to their opinions. That's including me.
start your own thread called "Lets keep realistic weapons" 🤣🤣
meanwhile magical stags and magical grenades exist
wonder what part of HEMA those grenades are
by hema inspiration do you mean like swords?
If we're talking guns is prefer they do early style flintlocks like we're actually barely present in medieval times
oh that was just an example i gave to him lol , but actually not a bad idea
blunderbuss sounds fun too
hand held canon basically
and we know there are definitely canon turrets in the game now
they are also more than likely never going to be implemented because they would look super goofy animation wise. Like, yes, it's a fantasy game, but you want to make your whole design coherent with everyhting. they made some 100% magical looking stuff, but it's bvecause they can make it work, keep it grounded in the ingame universe. A scythe tho? they could not make a decent animation set that would fit in. Like there is a reason why every game that had them make them work like axes where the blade magicly cut on both sides. it's the one tool you really can't turn into a weapon as is
Agreed. Scythes just ae too wonky for a slow third person game. There is a reason they didnt have backstab animations until Elden Ring. They are just difficult to work with and dont make sense as a weapon
