i feel like its a weird decision to just straightup make some game mechanics (runes, pact arts, totems) unavailable when fighting bosses that are alone or certain enemy types like mockeries or the corrupted spiders and sproutfolk

+1 to that. It seems to be a integral part of combat design with a whole totem slot revoking around this mechanic, not to mention the runes themselves. For it to be left out of the majority of bossfights seems odd.

It might be currently disabled for testing purposes, but who knows. /shrug

+1. you could make them smiteable with less „efficiency“ for example

You can already smite bosses (at least vadagar stag, others may be immune)

Mockeries seem to have a chance to trigger the rune buff on killing them.

Not sure if smite on those ads would be excessive as they seem to spawn in large groups and are very easy to kill.

It's really weird that bosses don't get to be smited
Even if it's just like, a rarer chance to smite them, or add some unique component to smiting for example maybe you get the smite trigger, but everyone has to smite at same time or something cool to get a huge group smite bonus, it could be cool and lead to more interesting boss design choices in the future
