I got Vadagar Stag as the end of a 3 star fable in the northwestern part of the map- I've been doing damage even to level 60 Cogah enemies with my gear (erstroot 30 with consecutive attacks feybalt and a Witan 30 perfect throw verite).

He is permanently hard grey, 1 hp per hit. What the heck did y'all do when tuning these bosses?

The only time I do damage above 1 is when I hit it with a smite, that does about 100 and then the rune itself does 1 damage per proc

yeah I had a similar issue with a stag on the southeast, was doing damage fine at first but then it started just doing 1 damage, ended up slogging it down with arrow rain while standing in a safe spot to cheese it out, but it sucked. Went from doing 70 damage on a fully charged bow shot to doing 1 damage charged or not, except for a lucky weak point hit (good luck aiming for that though with how much the stag moves around, doesn't sit still for more than half a second)

magic weapons just don't scale that well to higher level enemies because their lower base damage gets choked out by defense scaling

the only weapons that can keep up have higher base hit values and even consecutive hit bonuses can't push magic over the threshold. bows also face similar issues

(with the exception of one fancy bow that just came out)

bows usually can surpass the grey bar thing with a fully charged shot, but it's weird that it was doing okay at first for me, and then suddenly stopped working partway through. but maybe it's also the enemy level (would be awesome if we could have levels visible for boss bar enemies)

overall, the highest performing weapons favor large hits over smaller ones even if they're faster to compensate

what are the best weapon types for that?

until defense scaling or just defense stat design is adjusted to fit other weapon strategies

totems and runes are also crucial to closing that gap but that will take a bit more grinding and testing to find the optimal strats

The numbers are broken. I did not have these issues EVER prior to this update
