#Preludes honour in compendium
1732 messages · Page 2 of 2 (latest)
And again. Is it not possible to discuss the merits of the suggestions without making judgements on people? There are a few vocal people on both sides. Because they each care about their own point
Well I want it as well, but I did not pay for it in blood like the Preludes 7 guys did. Nobody liked my idea of DE selling it and having some of your stuff randomly reset. I think the copy is kinda dumb since somebody else's account had to be reset.
No, I'm not passing any kind of judgement on anybody.
I just said I think they're resentful they didn't get the cosmetic, which is pretty obvious if you've seen some of the people I'm talking about talking about this topic. They're angry they didn't get it/don't have it
I would not have paid $100 USD for the Paragon Founder Pack had I known I would still have FOMO. I would still play the game, but would not have paid $100 USD to do it 🙂 a large part of me wants a refund since I still have solid FOMO.
I know a lot of other locations got it for far less than $100 USD. but that is what it cost me to still have FOMO
I honestly am just engaging in the conversation I don't particularly mind getting it or not. Had an idea thats kinda not my best so don't take it too seriously. Seen people discuss having the players name who shares the bp be part of the effect and thought it sounded a bit intrusive. But once people figure out the soulframe languages it could potentially be cool to have the names part of the effect in one of those languages so it isn't just some random name appearing while you're playing. Again just a random thought take with a grain of salt
Because it kinda just feels like your solution was to make the people getting it feel the pain of losing stuff and that's just not really healthy
And I don't think would go over well in the community because they'd see the comparison being drawn
It's like... Almost passive aggressive in a way?
If you catch my drift
Like you're trying to make a point
I agree that you shouldn't necessarily need to sacrifice to get it if it does become available, it wouldn't have any value besides wasting time
Or rather, like DE would be trying to make a point
the best solution ive thought of is making it tradable once trading gets added. but i know some people are against that. i dont think there is any solution that will please everyone, and i dont think they should go back on something just to make others happy. if it was just given to everone else in preludes then it would lose its original meaning, and it would still be an exclusive item that people down the line would miss out on. so it wouldnt solve much
Which saying that it was a consolation for wasting time it seems a tad insensitive perhaps
Considering the state of this conversation right now, I can only imagine how it's going at Digital Extremes' offices
Maybe they're waiting for us to sort it out amongst ourselves lol
At least they have plenty of ideas
It'll never get sorted cause that aint on us, we just give feedback and ideas
they may have settled the debate in their office a long time ago and this whole discussion is moot 😛
Idk, if they waited for the community as a whole to reach a consensus based on more people taking one side or another
Most likely outcome
They can just work around satisfying the bigger side
they locked the old topic about it on the old discord, im suprised this one is still open!
Now imagine they used the garden space for something and hosted a vote in it
That'd be something
LOL hold up you may be onto something
"hey look, there's my 4 flowers in a row!"
Every Soulframe moderator at the same time-
"Ah, balls. Not again."
Giving them ptsd
De devs waking up in cold sweats thinking about hows best to resolve this
Oh I guarantee you there's at least one mod and one DE employee watching rn
The mod is here for us two LOL
Nahhh we chill now
Wasn’t meant that way. Tried to reach a middle ground between losing stuff and paying for stuff. Sorry about that.
Yee
No no I'm not saying you were
I was saying that your solution felt like it could be interpreted that way?
Nothing personal against you at all, you're totally fine ❤️
They could also just do a event that is genuinely difficult and takes a similar time to the content that was in p7 for it, maybe have it be in the harder difficulty thing I haven't touched
Might be a better compromise then give everyone or give no one, rather you have to earn it
👍
Do it in the months leading up to full access maybe??
it would defeat its purpose if they just give it out to anyone who completes a challenge.
I wish to subscribe to your offerings 😎
Not if its a difficult challenge that warrents it
At least in my opinion
Well, let's ask someone who has it if they feel like it's comparable
I guarantee they'll say no, sadly
Guess we need some people with it to dictate if that seems fai- beat me to it
the things solely exists because of a reset at a certain time. bringing it back for any reason would take away from what it was meant to be
Thats not the point in what I'm trying to discuss
Then DE should hide it from us who don’t get a chance to play in 7
I don't disagree but we're entertaining alternate lines of thought just out of curiosity
Let it develop
The only people who have the power to decide this is de, and the more ideas they have of how it could work based off player feedback, the easier their job is
youre not talking about giving it out to people that dont already have it?
Not again
XD
Do players in Warfrake see Exca Prime in their compendium? I don’t play it so idk.
No
and im giving my opinion of their ideas, isnt that what were all doing?
Yes but you're repeating an argument that's been made before
So you're not treading any new territory
Just poking my head in.
Let's tread new territory together
Nothing to see
Hello hai!
As long as you are not attacking each other, we good
Just love and good vibes
Look if you didn’t get in and missed out it sucks but it happens
I just turned 21 so I’m. Not really old enough to know WF
The kids are getting along and there is no blood ❤️
i could say the same about anything you or anyone else has said in here, dont be rude
I'm 21 and played wf since like 13 lol
Brother
In front of the mod?
Cmon
Oh yay more of Lillie being rage bated
I literally just said we were getting along
We're saying this with love in our hearts my man
Don't make me a liar
?
I’m grew up in a strict religion house so weird games. But I’m out now with FOMO 😎
Don’t feed the trolls
You should read like 10 lines of text before drawing a conclusion
We've been consumate professionals in here
Nah I’m good
Oof yeah you have my condolences
Okay, then you'll be fine with me pinging Helix for you starting drama for no reason?
Hey now
Haha
youre acting like im trying to argue with you and youre just shutting down my input. i dont appreciate that and will just move on, enjoy your conversation
No need to incite the gods
Ping away
Bröther what are you on about?
I don’t mind personally
Hobos, you like me the least in here- what did I do wrong
At least I know you'll be honest with me
please don't devolve the conversation, everyone
No that's not whats happening seriously, we're just discussing ideas for how it could be implemented as ideas for the devs to work with if they go that route. We know players with honors probably wouldn't want it, we've discussed the arguement that it would make their consolation redundant. We're just throwing ideas in case one happens to stick.
Right there with y'all
Just hide it DE. Let the chosen P7 be special and the rest of us get over FOMO.
Yep
That an explanation that isn't derailing or nah?
If he and I can get along well enough to do this, there's no reason the rest of us can't
Quickly start throwing tables
The two of us got muted together lol
Yeah we caused an hour long shutdown now look at us
Throw chairs
Actually... I think we caused two LOL
Haha
Just that good at what we do
It’s good to have passion
an explanation is fine
sorry i haven't followed the entire conversation, but without singling anyone out, provoking each other is not constructive
Back to the topic at hand
We've been very much avoiding us I beg you not to smite us oh holy one
If we are considering alternate ways of getting it as a replacement- we need someone in here who has the original to weigh in
Preferably several
How many people actually have it?
And yes I know we don't think it'll happen but the conversation has to go somewhere different
Please
Nah I’ll needs to be locked as nothing more can be said
Really would love to hear their opinions on the ideas in this channel and genuinely consider them
i would very much prefer not to have to hand out any warnings either 🥹
Same!
There was only a few thousand people playing during that time right?
Half of them probably aren't around consistently anymore
Maybe a couple hundred?
Maybe 50k peeps? Idk. Seems like there are a lot these days.
Jesus 50k even then?
Okay more than I thought then
Look I joined at p9 I think I don’t mind missing out on stuff it happens it’s a de game I would like a different honour to be added when preludes ends for full release but that’s not something already done and dusted
There has been a couple people with the original who have weighed in way above. Now I haven't followed everything but most people I have spoken with it who have the original don't really mind if the original was given out again since we are still in Preludes. But I have only spoken to a small few, not the masses.
You are the only one not moving forward with the topic❣️ if you're not going to, then leave room for someone who will.
Please.
I do wonder if its enough active for the argument of exclusivity to be AS important as we've had it been, it still matters just don't know if theres many players that have it and truly care atm
Anyways
for the record i have the item and have shared my thoughts on it. dont want to repeat an argument thats been made before though.
I would think that if there's less of them playing that would make it somewhat more valuable, right?
Didnt know you had it, thats good information to share thank you
Yeahh but don't know if that makes it a better thing to be protecting vehemently or not, a bit conflicted on it
I think that if it was like 10% of the playerbase have it it's not very exclusive
If it's only like... 5k people when we're at over a million, that's a different story
Ya know? I think the percentage of the playerbase dictates that
But like my thoughts are, wouldn't it being for less of the playerbase make it slightly more redundant and odd that its locked to them, don't wanna dive into old waters here but would make more sense in my eyes protecting its exclusivity if there were many people with it to defend it and not like 100 individuals
Idk guess you could argue it either way if you wanted to
I veiw it the opposite way
Yeah exactly its a conundrum right there
If so many people already have it, not valuable. If barely anyone does, valuable
You like your exclusives
Also I was thinking before, again controversial that I'm just spitting out because my brain likes to overthink things, couldn't it also just be the case that the consolation the players got was simply getting it before the other prelude players to mark them out specifically during the preludes, not necessarily after
Is it really that controversial?
If that was the case they wouldn't have framed it as an apology for lying about "no more resets"
The apology being distinction during preludes maybe, item description makes it unlikely though either way
Good point. The P7 crowd got to have it for what? A year? That’s a pretty exclusive club.
De has some things they need to make clear and lock more of these conversations up
Those that got in early lucky lucky you get some shiny stuff good on you but it’s not a huge deal is it ? People who got in late chill out people who know de knows this happens where content is locked after time sometimes forever it’s whatever
it wasn't framed as an apology for "lying" about no more resets though? (am I missing context or something)? It was compensation for going through a reset.
(they never said anything to do with resets that was interpreted as a lie, that I'm aware - source: me, I went through 2 resets)
For some people who don't care about collecting stuff or cosmetics it may be a big deal. For those of us that enjoy that collecting is literally the gameplay. I play the game to get items and complete my collection. So whilst not everyone sees it that way, having exclusive items that players are locked out of does affect their game.
It leads into the whole conversation not just about preludes honour but about giving exclusives as compensation in general. I have no issues with players being compensated but to use items that others are locked out of just affects everyone else. I bought paragon so I had everything. Now there is talk of a new exclusive seeds for those affected by payment issues. I agree those players should get something. But to make it so everyone else then misses an item over something they have no control over doesn't feel good.
Same with preludes honour. It was given at a time when people had signed up and been waiting for access since the beginning. Lots of players were desperate for a code to start playing. They already had the benefit of getting exclusive access. Again some compensation for resets is fine but it shouldn't be exclusive.
Making something right for one set of players shouldn't be at the detriment of others.
Would adding it to the Camel's shop work? It may cost some arcs, but it would at least be obtainable. I also would love to have everything, but as many have said above, it is up to DE at the end of the day.
+9999
Not saying that this should be the only way to absolve this, just an idea
We start another argument with the other half of the community of it being to p2w then.
it would annoy those who have it so yeah de do it haha
not really p2w for a cosmetic effect though.
i mean so far everything is in the shop so who cares
That is sort of why I suggested what I did tbh. I can just straight up buy a Blessed joinery from Avakot.
but as its a thing from what P7 those few people that have it will be mad
Yeaaa, I side eye tf out of that. then purchase them lmao
Warframe has plenty locked to market, might not be the worst idea
I would prefer not to have to pay some arcs for those said items. I would much rather just be able to obtain it through in game means.
I would be totally happy with buying it.
But I do see the side of those that were given it for resets. It is just a bad way of giving compensation.
Maybe another version that says something like 'wasn't lucky enough to get my account reset so had to buy this'
Same item that would fill the same compendium slot but different description. I think this would be fair to both sides.
I also am not entirely opposed to it just showing up in the shop, maybe they will after the founders stuff ends? Who knows really
I could get behind the description change, though I wonder how that would affect it in the compendium itself considering it would be "different"
wasn't lucky enough to get my account reset so had to buy this' YES!!!!!!!! +10000000000
Yep, The compensation was never the issue. Its the exclusivity. DE should reset my account so i can get it 🙂
Think the event idea could be a tad nicer than just buy it to get it still tbh, at least theres still some sense of accomplishment in that
Sayandana's, Color Palettes, Heirlooms, the list goes on.
I also agree
I was one of the people who got an access key in P6. Due to it being a pre-alpha, I was already strongly assuming at some point they were going to do a reset. Just how it goes with the early development of games. It is fine to me that they gave players a talisman for the reset. However, I just saw it as a bonus thing, never as compensation. So for me, I think it just being available to all players who have got to play in the preludes (before founders or not) should have the ability to get it.
I don't like the idea of putting it behind a pay wall, I think it should maybe be a time played thing? Play a certain amount of hours of the preludes and it is rewarded to you.
this community is soooo toxic sometimes
Thank you for your imput it is much needed and doubly appreciated
Like I have said earlier, I would also rather it be obtainable via some alternative method, only suggested that due to what is in the shops already and what has been thrown in the WF markets
Garden thing was meant to be a lil bone to the people who wanted exclusivity without being overbearing, those that bought day 1 and got stuck in a backlog watching the garden instances fill up got screwed there.
I think the cursed gardens is a decent compensation for that, but I also agree if they reworked the gardens to not be a numbered instance based that would be even better
I sleep, looking foward to more constructive ideas to wake to, no arguing or the gods will appear take it from me, de-esculate if possible
please stop making provocative comments like this
I don't see your suggestion as bad or wrong. It definitely could be a solution. So no worries just because we have different ideas 😄
Speak of them and they appear
I don't think we do tbh. Just throwin things out there for the sake of it.
While you're here, is a vote for something decisive like this a feasible thing do you think, or not something possible or wanted for organization
i dont think it is. its the truth or you wouldnt be here watching
It doesn't add to the discussion in any way other than being inflammatory though, just try to keep it civil
i don't really have an answer for that, sorry, i do know that the team is aware of the issue though
Thank you holy one
I think it is good to get ideas out, it will help the DE when they are looking into this if they decide too.
Agreed.
lychee i just say it as i see it im not trolling atm just so many threads turn to a fire sometimes
This is exactly what we need happening
You are welcome
More than happy
At the very least they should remove the honor talisman from the compendium
Just manage it and explain carefully we got this
(Coming from someone that has it)
How would you want it implemented for other prelude players if they went that route?
Or no opinion either way
I said this way way above but +1. Definitely no reason for it to be in the compendium if it can not be obtained anymore.
That's literally my only issue with it, being in the compendium
agreed
I personally think the market idea might be the way they go with it, but I also won't know until if/when it happens. We already know they are really trying to avoid FOMO considering almost everything (not sure about the sparrows skins and flowers) from the founders will be obtainable when it leaves.
I also second this.
whether it was a bonus or compensation, the only thing I wanted to address really was the odd statement that the preludes mote/talisman was related to DE "lying about no more resets" (it's possible I misinterpreted what was being said or took it out of context). It wasn't. It was directly related to accounts being reset, not to any politics surrounding those resets. DE were always very clear about the possibility of resets, and nothing happened to contradict anything they said.
I mean I like exclusives as long as they are cosmetic in nature and aren't in a compendium, I don't see the problem with that. Doesn't bother me when other people get it as long as it doesn't hinder me collecting stuff that affect gameplay, not having excalibur stings
agreed
chiming in with comments that can be seen as rude doesn't help
this is already an extremely volatile subject but it's an important one to a lot of people so it would be best if we could keep things constructive
Thank you for your input as a honors owner, its valuable imput for the conversation
I pass out, praying it's not locked and in ruin by the morning
I haven't read all the messages, did it get rough? I have been reading the "cliff notes" version
It would be a bit upsetting to be handed an exclusive like that and then having the exclusivity completely removed, can't lie
what i said from the start buddy
Which is 100% fair, which is why I like the idea of changing something about it, but I am just not sure how that would affect it's compendium listing
things have gotten hostile a few times and it needed to be locked
hopefully it doesn't need to happen again 🥹
Very divisive subject :p
Oh damn. Got home from work an hour or so ago, was just reading up on some posts.
It's the weapon slots feedback channel in the preludes all over again 😂
No way people are crashing out coz of VFX flowers xD
Evidently
i didnt look because im here for chats info and memes
but i know of the fires from the preludes sever
It's a valid complaint. People who collect having a hole in their collection because they missed out on something due to bad luck? That sucks.
It shows in the compendium that they are missing it
de just cosmetics only exclusives from now on please. thanks
We can't see the flowers in any way in the compendium, can we?
Removing it from the compendium and making it statless/practically useless statwise making it so you can only use it as a cosmetic transmog
I'd say is the best move
I would also have to agree on that. I didn't even know it gave stats
+1
Idk, I dont care mostly and suggest most of people to do the same. Having a bad mood over pixels is a bad thing
Another question, does Sparragon show up in the compendium for people that haven't bought The Paragon Founder's pack?
I disagree. It's fine to be upset over this as their promise was no fomo and this is very much bordering on looking like that
It does but that will be tradable eventually
oh the sparrow will be? I thought it was just the sword.
Tradable how?
Yeah that's the parragon that is gonna be tradable xd
Oh I thought you meant the greatsword, idk about the bird
gotcha, all good.
With that said, I know that the sparrow is a little different considering it is strictly a skin for your bird but could an argument not be made for that too if it does appear in the compendium?
Let me actually go check that, I don't think it does though
I have nothing of substance to add to this convo just that I agree with the sentiment of the original poster and hope it gets resolved somehow but I think it will just be an empty slot for most of us.
kinda sucks since I didnt even know this existed for a while
Actually I think they do, can't tell though since I have them all
But yeah, if that is a thing then that should also be removed from the compendium
I agree, some resolution would be nice nonetheless. I missed out because I didn't read emails from soulframe for over a year
It'd be a cool idea tho to also get the sparragon bird skin when gifted the greatsword by someone
It may very well just appear until the founders packs leave the store, but only time will tell with that
They promised no functional exclusivity, but they are allowing cosmetics as exclusives, they have been open about this already and people have not complained till now. They want to appease both sides of the aisle and I think the best way is to keep the exclusivity of the cosmetic stuff and removing them from compendiums so those collecting don't sit there scratching at their heads in frustration over a big, ugly hole as that would annoy me too
I agree and I don't. Same with the prelude's honor talisman. I can see both sides of the coin as it shows a form of "gratitude" for the lack of a better word towards the players to honor their time and/or money to the game. I also see the fomo side of it.
Warframe has a pretty good way about it, like the prime access armor sets from the bundles. They don't appear in any compendium as far as I am aware.
Yeah having something to show for testing the game when the progress would get reset is a nice gesture, and I appreciate it. Would like to keep that and not have it tossed out the window
Completely understandable.
I personally wouldn't mind gifting the sparrow together with the sword to people, but the best solution is most likely gonna be to just remove items you can't get anymore from the compendium
I think that is probably the best way as of right now, too. I am sure they will add some other kinda of talisman with an effect in the future that we could get in game.
They have already promised exclusive skins and the sparrows are exclusive skins too, much like the talisman, so removing that from exclusivity seems silly
But yeah
Remove it from compendium
Paragon talisman has an effect too, and they will undoubtedly add more talismen with effects
This kinda leads into a different kinda feedback idea, but instead of it being a talisman maybe verminia could have something like an "armor trim" sorta deal and have the effect of the preludes honor be there.
Y'know you are right, I didn't even process that while typing
Same goes for people missing the ephemera effect from the preludes honor too, I'm sure there'll be plenty more similar effects people can get in the future, the issue really is just the hole in the compendium imo
It was, because they forced everyone to reset after explicitly saying they wouldn't make one mandatory again.
That little bobble was their way of saying 'you couldn't do anything about it, we lied, sorry, here's something cool for just you.'
sorry but that's not correct
I went through both resets
Even if they don't explicitly say that that IS the reason it was given out
Did they or did they not say "no more mandatory resets" before doing that reset
no ... that came later
Because they needed to test early game changes and there weren't enough new players
Because that's exactly what I've heard from someone else who got theirs for that exact reason
well then they've either gotten their story mixed up, or are exaggerating, or are misremembering or something
they said they might reset. They reset. We got a mote.
@opaque sky @finite marsh pleasant conversing with you both, I am gonna go soulframe it now. 🫡
then there was another reset. anyone who didn't have a mote got it
(we kept ours)
then they said "no more mandatory resets if we can help it"
Have fun! Thanks for talking
Have fun
the mote was given out way before any talk of no resets
But it was also given out that final time because of a... Forced reset?
yeah, but they hadn't said "no resets" before that final reset
there were two resets, and both resets happened before they decided that they want to avoid any more resets
I'm not saying the person was lying, but they may have misheard or misinterpreted something
remember some info is from players relaying info to each other
and it can get scrambled
Why was this never brought up during the chair war of "Founders Honour"
not everyone reads/follows everything DE says directly and religiously 😄
Because I was not the only one saying the "it was a consolation for a forced reset they said they wouldn't do"
well, once something becomes established, it gets passed around and around 😛
I was repeating what I heard from someone who had it, so not at fault here for believing them
You sorta got to if they have the dang thing
Hm
My opinion on this topic may have changed.
I was aware my stuff may get reset when I played, but I also didn't read absolutely everything at that point
well you have two people who have the dang thing claiming different things, so you'll just have to accept there is some confusion - not saying it's deliberate
Yeah..
I've seen devstream talk be relayed incorrectly. It could be something as simple as that.
Most likely that, I have misunderstoof things from devstream talk too because they sometimes get a big vague with their wording xd
unless its from de or a mod yeah people can say whatever
hey did you know you can find a warframe space ship its in the world ill jsut leave that here
yeah, some amount of umming and ahhing 😛
Or say the wrong thing before correcting it
Wait what?
Yeah it's called Mada's space ship she picks up crate deliveries with it
That doesn't look like a warframe ship?
Ha
The weird triangle thing right?
Am I being obtuse...?
No I just immediately thought of the J Jonah jamisen meme and had to post it
i am going to be banned one day dont worry i accept it for being a bad person
Anyways this is kinda off topic to the discussion, let's keep it on track xd
"Ode Peace"
Lel
Just as a last side note regarding mada, I really like that DE made it a world event
Ngl I thought this was gen chat for a second- back on track
but space ships are cool the stone liset hidden on the map is a great easter egg
yes back on topic so what is your thoughts now ?
you said they might have changed
#spoiler-chat message
Just to move the chat outta here
I actual absorb the information and reanalyze when provided new info
Rn its- does the fact that de didn't promise no resets make the honour less valuable and therefore less worth keeping exclusive
Idk, still deciding
It still was provided as a "sorry for the reset" but it wasn't an expectation there wouldn't be any
And again, still have to consider the overall rarity of it
It's a gesture they gave out of respect for the players that tested when there really was no incentive to do so, which is a nice gesture. They have also stated and have introduced other cosmetic exclusives like the sparrows and possibly the parragon periapt
i think they got it they keep it i hope that a slightly different on is added just before lunch happens for newer players
At least I think the periapt is gonna be exclusive?
They have stated they will be doing exclusives for cosmetics
The Paragon Periapt definitely will as the other rewards are tied to wylding your pact
Paragon has no pact associated, so
yet wink
x to doubt
my complaint is that I signed up for testing literally day 1 and never managed to get in til p8, which is of course 1 prelude AFTER it was too late
I mean the talisman specifically xd
Yes
Honestly I just want them to remove it from the compendium and remove stats from it to make it only useful for transmog, I said this earlier too
I'm fine with that
Anything associated with all three pacts (the sword, the sparrow, and the talisman) will likely stay "exclusive"
That would be the best win/win for everyone
And if so, removing it from the compendium makes all the sense
+1 always
Removing stats from it when it's a carbon copy of another amulet just with a visual difference doesn't make much sense
but yeah it's 1 thing to make something like a founder item exclusive, where everyone has the OPPORTUNITY to get it, whether they actually can or not. It's another to make it essentially RNG based on whether or not you got randomly selected to get your key and get in. They didn't even do a first-come-first-serve on letting people into the alphas either, so some of us just straight up got screwed
I still do not agree with this take at all.
You did not get screwed. You just weren't around
Was I getting screwed because I couldn't see ACDC in concert because I wasn't born yet? That's a lottery, right?
Still it can be argued it is functional since it provides a stat buff, which people no likey. It's a minor thing but still
Same with the sword
As long as it's a carbon copy of something freely available the power doesn't matter
It just can't be better than everything else
Sword will be tradable at some point tho that's different, these are gonna stay exclusive completely (allegedly)
Truine
Exists
So it doesn't matter that it has those stats
The sword has unique actual gameplay effects
getting screwed is a figure of speech. "everyone has the OPPORTUNITY to get it, whether they actually can or not" If you wanna make some weird comparison to an AC/DC concert, it'd be more like 'you're alive and have a job, and there's a concert.' You have the OPPORTUNITY. You didn't have the opportunity when you weren't even in a womb yet.
Which is why they're letting it be tradeable
It works like the Wyld pacts, you actually get buffs to your virtues with smites
Same argument could be made for excal prime, we have excal umbra which has the same stats + an extra passive
Which is why no one cares about Excalibur prime
Oh they do
Dude is ugly, the only thing going for him is exclusivity
except for all the people who care about excalibur prime.
A lot of people care including me xD
Nobody who has priorities cares about Excalibur prime, let me clarify
lmao ok
And have you ever read comments anywhere about founders for soulframe "I missed out on excalibur prime I am not missing out on this"
They are SCARRED from the fomo
what, is this some "he's not literally the best/most efficient, so no one should want to use him" mindset?
No, it's a "he's ugly and I can get a better version for free"
"he doesn't match MY tastes, so therefore no one else likes him either"
Umbra is literally an upgrade in all ways except the bug with the skills
He's ugly lol why he a cyclops
people like mag, and have you seen her
Yeah but the thing is it's a functional item in the compendium that no one but founders can have. Some people love collecting and want to 100% it and simply can't because they are missing this one exclusive frame
I don't remember him being xman.
Anyways
No accounting for taste LOL
this
Again, remove from compendium
Except the Paragon sword, since it will be obtainable if the founders aren't actual menaces about charging for it
honestly, it should've been an item for everyone who played before founder packs came out.
They def will on day 1 of trading lmao
Skill issue, hmu I won't charge anything because I'm not a *****canoe
I wanna be a superspreader though, I want everyone to have my sword and will give it away
I'll be giving it away like candy when the time comes
Ayo okay Genghis Khan I see you
Spread it
XD
LMAO exactly
1 in 200 soulframe players will have my sword
Hehehehehehehehe
God I love history jokes
You're great
Okay but I think this has just become gen chat, let's shift over
^
Excal P is in the "founders literally saved DE from collapsing" category (if u believe the story, which I have no reason not to). This (preludes mote/talisman) was a bonus/compensation (whatever u want to call it) for being inconvenienced while simultaneously being (what most people would weigh up as) rewarded by rng (i.e. getting invited to early preludes) - so that kinda makes it a reward on top of a reward for merely being lucky, and a bit sucky for ppl who were merely unlucky.
And while a lot of players will rightfully call this FOMO, it was the right call because again- it saved WF and saved DE
Imagine if the people who made Unreal Tournament went under
A generational loss
Then again, this is a cosmetic that has no impact on mastery and if removed from compendium won't be a blotch for collectors
Also, this
100% that
we already have exclusive skins and they have already promised exclusive non functional items, this should not be different because people are upset that they don't hav eit
I'd really like it if it was like... "all preludes before founders packs" but the REAL thing I want is just it not be a BLEMISH on my compendium
I decided and yeah
I haven't changed my mind
Remove from compendium, but you don't just get it unless it's the BP version
as long as I can look at my records and it doesn't just spit in my face saying I'm forever missing something that I had no control over, I'm cool with it existing and me not having it
It still was a goodwill gesture towards a select group of players
Real
DE have deliberately kept it modest, yeah. I'm not bothered either way. I get both points of view. My lean is towards making it semi-exclusive like the sword, simply to be consistent with my overall position that I'd prefer SF avoid fomo as much as possible. That's just the kind of game I prefer to play. I'm not any kind of monetization strategist tho, so who knows if DE should listen to me 😄
It's not a monetary thing in this case, just a thank you gesture. I want it to be fully exclusive but not be an ugly greyed out thing for those that collect
Doing it like the sword could be kinda cool make it tradeable if someone wanted to "X bestows honor" in the description but I also see gamings perspective
I mean, not directly, but indirectly. As in it contributes to the culture and feel of the game and community, and the relation between DE and their customers. I have stuck with Warframe over other live service games for this reason. I would probably stop playing WF (and not play SF) if they change their strategy. Which is not a judgement, but simply me exercising my right to participate or not participate in whatever suits my own psychology 😛 . I don't claim that games that happen to suit me are necessarily adopting a successful strategy either. Maybe DE could do a lot better if they made gacha games 😄
The only reason they are doign it for the sword is because it is an actual item with unique stats and scaling that increases mastery, it's a fully fledged item. The talisman is a cosmetic
Exactly my thoughts on it. Just remove it from the compendium and Im fine
I know, but this could potentially alleviate a lot of the conflict some people are having with it, I can also see it potentially stirring the pot more towards the people with it if they choose not to.
food for thought is all
Same with me, am I jealous I don't have it? Sure a little. Will I lose sleep over it? No.
as has been said, whatever they do someone will probably be unhappy. Some ppl love exclusive stuff and would prefer to play games that have more of it, not less.
Yeah, always some unhappy folks
I don't want lots of it, I just don't mind an exclusive cosmetic every now and then as long as it doesn't hinder me from getting 100% in the game
And it isn't a cashgrab
I do think if anything is to be exclusive, I would much rather it be for Pre release players than anything that is monetary
Gash grab fomo? Bad.
But founders pack minor exclusive cosmetics and a thank you talisman to those that play tested and had their stuff wiped?
That's fine
Don't start introducing cosmetic bundles down the line that you have to buy now or never get it, that would suck
Agreed
Oh and to add to this, purely cosmetic, with the context of what we were talking about I know y'all knew, but for anyone else reading this later.
Also, I had an amusing thought:
Making it semi-exclusive like the sword is potentially not as altruistic as it seems. It might lose some direct value, but gains in utility. Either I have this talisman that eventually becomes superseded by other gear, never gets used anymore, and just sits there in my inventory forgotten and never mentioned. Or I have this talisman to usefully duplicate for newer players that can be naturally brought up as a conversation topic without seeming pretentious :P.
They're adding stitching to necklaces too
So, even if it gets outpaced by later gear, you can keep it on cosmetically
That is cool, so no need for my "verminia armor trim" idea to keep the effect.
You were fully informed and aware (if you were following the devs statements) that wipes would happen.
Did you read the rest of my message?
Although this is true, DE decided to give out a compensation anyway. I really don’t understand how if it was expected or not changes anything, they already gave it out.
It would be a valid point if we were discussing if we should receive compensation or not at the time, of course nobody did that to my knowledge because resets were expected.
For clarity the Honour Mote appears to be more a token of gratitude for playing during the game’s roughest state and condolence that player’s accounts reset.
There was no deception from DE or anything. It was just kindness and goodwill.
I knew there was a chance there would be a wipe. Most of us hoped not. And I never said I expected to get anything 😅 it was a nice gesture of DE for the big inconvenience and a thank you for testing during that time.
I don’t think anyone here is arguing that DE were being deceptive or malicious with Honour, I fully believe it was meant as kindness and goodwill.
The problem is that good intentions don’t automatically make a reward system healthy, especially in a collection-driven game. In this case it ended up as:
- access based on random invite luck,
- compensation on top of that luck,
- and then that compensation being put as a permanent Compendium item.
That’s why it feels like “a reward on top of RNG” to a lot of us, and why some collectors are bothered even if we understand the intent. It’s not about taking the thank-you away from people who were there – it’s about the side-effects of how it was implemented.

I think the conversation boils down to if wanting access to absolutely everything in a developing game is reasonable. In my opinion it isn’t. Warframe doesn’t work like that and the only reason Soulframe is being treated differently is that it’s new so the theoretical opportunity to collect everything was there.
I base that opinion on its sister game and the fact that they clearly aren’t opposed to exclusivity so long as it isn’t FOMO or P2W.
I don’t think players who can’t enjoy the game without ownership of everything no matter how small should be a strong consideration when DE makes decisions.
Yes but steve said that he doesn't want FOMO here
It's the same company but different game
Yet a few days after he said this he makes an item FOMO
I was registered day one first hour for the preludes back then and didn't get selected. But someone who did registered last day got selected.
Is that fair to you?
I bet that if you hadn't been selected you would have been on our side.
He didn’t make the item FOMO though. Again the term is being misused
The reason Soulframe is being treated differently isn’t just “it’s new”, it’s that DE themselves talked about learning from Warframe and wanting to avoid strong FOMO / locked-out players, especially around Founders and early systems. In that context, making an RNG-invite compensation item a permanent Compendium slot feels out of step with the direction they described.
I’m not asking them to design the whole game around people who need 100% or they can’t play, but I do think it’s reasonable to ask that:
– compensation for random edge cases (resets, payment bugs, invite RNG) doesn’t create permanent holes in core collection systems, and
– early exclusives are based on clear choice (buying a pack, playing during a season, doing a quest), not luck in a pre-alpha lottery.
+1
Also, re: "the term being misused" - the item is FOMO while it exists in the compendium. It's not being misused in that context
We do have clear examples of them learning from Warframe, Founders being a big example.
For the record I don’t think making the honour a talisman was the play. I said so in a prior thread, I was hoping for it being a toggle in the settings to avoid this exact situation but alas.
Everything in moderation. It isn’t reasonable to expect them to kill every example of exclusivity, it’s a tool they’ve relied on since becoming sustainable.
It isn’t though. You cannot fear missing out on something you’ve already missed out on.
Yesterday somebody was claiming “retroactive FOMO”. That is just envy. You can just say that. Having a problem with exclusivity doesn’t make it FOMO.
Wdym its not FOMO?
It's the definition of FOMO
Especially in a game that collection is the main goal
Having an exclusive item when the selection was random as a reward making it more exclusive then the FOUNDERS pack is bs.
If the inv weren't random selection and everyone could join and had a fair chance yes I wouldn't mind because If I didn't join it would have been my fault
But this? This is stupid
And to be fair the progress you lost was a day maybe less of a grind.
You can fear missing out on being able to 100% your collection. You are absolutely wrong about this, because you're looking at it from the wrong perspective. You're trying to respond to me as if I said people need to be given the item they're missing, however that's not what I said. I said it shouldn't be included in any compendium. It doesn't need to be in a compendium for people who didn't play at the time, for you to be able to keep yours to yourself
Fear of missing out AKA “FOMO” describes the fear of missing out, and making decisions you wouldn’t have otherwise due to said fear.
It is commonly exploited by corporations in order to secure interest or money. This could also be referred to as FOMO.
Seeing an item that you don’t have is not FOMO. That is envy.
FOMO
noun
ˈfō-(ˌ)mō
informal
: fear of missing out : fear of not being included in something (such as an interesting or enjoyable activity) that others are experiencing
It is FOMO to be unable to 100% the compendium when others are actively able to do so.
it is an active, ongoing thing to try and complete your collection of in-game items
literally just remove it from the compendium
In this example the ship has already sailed. The thing to “fear” has already come and gone.
Incorrect. If the compendium did not show the item that nearly nobody got, there would be nothing to fear in this example
It is quite literally the same thing as not showing Excal Prime in the compendium in Warframe
Do you copy chat gpt?
You just dont get it.
And again
I bet if you didn't have it you would have been on our side.
You're just salty that the majority of the preludes community wants it because it wasn't a fair that we didn't got selected and because this post is turning heads and I bet the devs have seen it.
@slate meteor Of course, he has it and wants it exclusive ^^
It’s semantic. You could argue that a player who doesn’t know the item is exclusive may experience FOMO.
I am obviously of the opinion that it should’ve been hidden from the compendium.
What a nuanced take.
I actually agree with you on two things:
- Soulframe’s Founders packs are a clear example of DE learning from Warframe.
- And no, I don’t expect them to “kill every example of exclusivity” – that would be impossible in a live game.
Where we differ is on what counts as “moderation.” An RNG-invite apology cosmetic being turned into a permanent Compendium slot doesn’t feel like a moderate use of exclusivity to a lot of us, especially in a game that’s framed itself around avoiding strong FOMO and Excal-style situations.
On the FOMO wording: sure, you can say “you can’t fear missing out on something you’ve already missed,” but what people are reacting to isn’t just the past event. It’s looking at this pattern and thinking:
“If this is how early edge cases are handled, what else am I going to be permanently locked out of later?”
That’s very much a forward-looking fear, not just envy over one trinket. The Compendium constantly surfacing that gap just keeps that feeling alive.
I’m not asking DE to nuke all exclusives. I just want:
- compensation for random edge cases (invites, resets, payment bugs) not to live in core completion systems.
- early rewards to be based on clear choice/participation rather than pre-alpha RNG.
If they stick to that, I think both the “exclusives are fine” camp and the collector/FOMO-sensitive players can actually coexist without one side feeling like the game’s philosophy got quietly walked back.
You say it's obvious that you're on the side that it should be hidden, but that's all I'm saying and you're still arguing against me.
That’s wrong. I’m arguing against ‘FOMO’ being attributed to this when in reality the problem is that people don’t like exclusivity.
I don’t have anything against you personally.
I’ve made my opinion and opinion on potential compromises known above. I suppose they become buried under the chat.
It is FOMO by definition to not be able to 100% your compendium. Again, it's an ongoing activity. It's not in the past.
I disagree. If you have already missed out on something experiencing ‘FOMO’ does not make sense. Fear is the important bit that doesn’t apply. Fearing the status quo makes no sense. Again, were a player not informed that the item was exclusive in that case feeling FOMO would be justified.
Overall “FOMO” is being slapped onto the situation because it sounds worse than complaining about exclusivity which is what’s actually upsetting players.
FOMO within the sphere of live service games is about using the pressure of missing out on something to incentivize players to spend time/money. It does not apply in a situation where the thing missed out on isn't one you could pay or grind for.
The feeling of being sad you didn't get an exclusive thing is of course also applicable here, but it is not FOMO
That's not accurate, Zero above just explained how it feeds fear. #1442994752906723369 message

I don't care about exclusivity, at all. I want to be able to see a satisfyingly filled compendium. That's all.
Exclusive items should be kept out of the compendium, obviously if you own them you'll see them. It's a simple solution
I agree that from DE’s decision-making one can come to expect or fear future FOMO although then it becomes a conversation of how much faith you place in DE as a company. In my honest opinion if you dislike live-service practices you just shouldn’t play live-service games because we do have mild examples of what appears to be FOMO already, just not this situation.
And I agree regarding the Compendium. It feels like an oversight that it didn’t begin this way.
From day one I was watching every stream, asking for codes, checking my email every day because I didn’t want to miss out on anything. That feeling of “if I don’t stay on top of this, I might miss something forever” is exactly what pushed me to keep checking, and now Preludes Honour is the proof that fear was justified.
If you want to use a stricter, “industry” definition of FOMO tied only to direct monetization, fine – call it exclusivity instead. But from a player point of view, the experience was still:
“I’m scared I’ll miss out on something permanent, so I need to keep chasing access and codes.”
I cannot help but notice that most people being upset seem to be more upset with the fact that they dont have X, but since they have Y that one is okay. And it would probably forever be like that. "Dont add exclusive things until after launch!" or "I joined X years after launch and can never have Z and thats unfair!" - it is always "dont add this after X" where X is equal to "after I joined."
I get being a bit salty over the fact that the lucky early drafters got something for their account reset; or the special flower that only the "cursed founders" got. I get being envyous about missing out, I am too (I was not lucky enough to get an early invitation despite following Soulframe religiously since its first reveal years ago.)
But Warframe - and most likely Soulframe too - has never been a game where one could get everything; starting with Excalibur Prime in Warframe and the Honors in Soulframe.
DE wants to reward people who are sticking with them through thick and thin; those who suffer loss or injustice for things beyond their control (such as account resets, or not getting rewards that they paid for). Small tokens that are meaningless in every other perspective than cosmetics. And honestly? It is one of the reasons I love DE.
I like exclusivity, even when it doesnt apply to me. I can feel bummed out when I miss out on something; like not being lucky enough to get an invite to Soulframe until just after the account resets, but I like feeling like my time spent matters, and I love that DE respect their players time and effort enough to compensate them with permanent, small cosmetic features.
I would love to see them add some kind of "Nightwave" (from Warframe) where the people who missed out can get a recolored version, but imo; keep the exclusives, but offer variants to those who missed out.
I've played the game since preludes 1.1 I have preludes honour and I'm in favor of it not remaining exclusive, so it's not only people that are "salty" that want it. Anyway let's stay away from describing people that want an item with such words, let's keep it respectful
But the X you mention is warranted because the entry to prelude was rng. Even if you wanted to be early, if you weren't lucky, you couldn't do it.
And to be fair they're some meaningless flowers that you leave behind as you walk. People want to keep it exclusive just to feel special. Special for?... Getting accounts resets in a really unstable version of the game where account is expected to be reset?
This is a tangible example of FOMO, which I also experienced. Retroactively though I disagree that FOMO applies to the Honour specifically.
The complaint is that people don’t have the Honour despite wanting it, not that they were forced to sign up out of fear.
The experience you’re describing isn’t proof of FOMO being engineered into the system; it’s just what happens when envy kicks in. Watching other people get codes or early access naturally sparks the urge to keep up, but that urgency comes from comparing yourself to others, not from the game manipulating you. A phased or limited rollout creates exclusivity, sure, but exclusivity isn’t FOMO. FOMO requires intentional pressure to stay constantly engaged. Nothing about the setup forced you to watch every stream or check email every day; plenty of players ignored all that and still enjoyed the game just fine. Your drive came from not wanting to be the person who missed out on what others had, which is envy talking, not a system pushing fear. And pointing to Preludes Honour after the fact doesn’t retroactively prove manipulation it only proves that some things stayed exclusive. That’s scarcity, not some kind of engineered fear. Your vigilance was optional, not required. There are players who didn’t obsessively monitor streams and still enjoy the game or eventually gain access. Your personal choice to treat it like a high-stakes chase doesn’t mean others were coerced.
And why add them to the compendium too? It's clear some people have OCD, why even display it there as a permanent empty slot for late joiners
What I’m pushing back on is how this specific exclusive was made, and what DE themselves said about Soulframe. I’ve been following SF since reveal, watched the streams, hunted for codes, checked my email constantly so I wouldn’t miss out. That talisman absolutely did create FOMO for me, because I was doing all of that out of fear of missing something permanent – and in the end it still came down to RNG access, not effort or choice.
It is very different from “you joined 5 years late, of course you missed the early stuff.” Some of us were there from day one and still never had a real shot. That’s why a lot of collectors are upset – not just because “we don’t have X,” but because the way X was handled doesn’t match the “no FOMO / no locked-out players” direction DE talked about for this game.
OCD is a severe mental illness. Don't use it lightly, this isn't OCD. I agree that it should only be shown in the compendium only if you have the item. The fix is the same with Excal prime in WF
I agree to an extent; but I still think it is important to recognize all the player time that got lost in the process.
As you say, its useless flowers. It has no impact on anything. It is just a small token to the players who lost a lot of time on a forced reset. A token of appreciation for their time spent.
I guarantee that there will be a lot nicer, more updated similar trails/cosmetics in the future. The reason people want this specific one is because it is exclusive (and/or because there are no alternatives, yet). The best cosmetics are usually never the ones that are exclusive... The only prestige they will have in a few years is that they are exclusive.
To me, the concept is okay. Even though I am also really sad I hadnt been invited as of yet, and thus missed out.
ok I have OCD and can't talk about it apparently because someone else told me not to bring it lightly
+1 on this one though. Dont show exclusive items in the compendium unless they can be earned.
1507 posts on this while the game is fundamentally broken is crazy guys
I am sorry then, but it's not something to weaponize even if you struggle with it.
Actually unreal. And the flowers post with the gardens
Is it though?
The game is broken, and most of us know DE will fix that, and are working on fixing that, asap.
People arguing here are discussing game philosophy which is not as obvious as "please fix this shit that is clearly not working."
The game has been becoming more and more broken with each patch
And you say they're fixing the game
The base of the game is literally crumbling, p12 feels incredibly bad to p10 for example
In every detail
It's laggier, clunkier,
More rushed
Mtx additions
Please do not write each and every point in a separate message.
Yes. I know. They know too. And I am 100% confident they are working on it.
Nothing new experimented. Adding weapons mechanically identical with old weapons is not content. It's copy paste code with a 12h of work model slapped on it and edited stats
DE is focusing on fluff content instead of experimenting with mechanics in a pre pre pre pre alpha
What are you saying, I'll bring up again that I played since preludes one and you have no idea how broken it was, the game is way more solid and stable now, balanced too, so what some things break, it's pre alpha and they have fixed a lot of stuff.
Also monetization is fine, devs don't work for free
+1
This lmao. I have been playing early on, the game is in no way broken. Lmao.
Devs don't work for free but they have the backing from Warframe founding. They didn't need such aggressive monetisation so early in the game development. Will I have to mention how they put the faction rewards in zenith store while making the grind 40% longer for max rank on top of having very expensive reputation costs to even buy thereafter?
Were you around when we could one shot every boss because of a bug ? Nimrod had no chance against the ball of death
By definition it isn't mtx. $30 isn’t a microtransaction because microtransactions are, by definition, small, repeatable in-game purchases made after you already own the product. They exist inside the game’s economy and are usually optional, incremental buys (skins, boosts, currency, etc.).
Founders is meant to fund the game, its akin to a Kickstarter bonus.
Yup lmao
Fun times xP
Ode Tempest op
Or avakot being dumped with all the upgrade things so they're in your face 24/7?
That is a genuine critique with its own feedback forum. Still not mtx since you cant buy premium currency atm.
People already have a forum with a lot of votes to remove that, with DE you can just express your displeasure of a system and they'll hear you out
Either way that has nothing to do with this topic, those issues have their own topics and the ones that don't yet deserve their own too. There's only so many messages in here because it keeps getting derailed to other topics... like this
Check zenith, he sells arcs
Separate from founders
Aha! Didn't realize. Then fair, and is an actual critique.
Most preferred to least preferred.
- Hide from the compendium
- Create a distinct variant akin to how they do Tennocon cosmetics nowadays
- Make it so a mock variant can be traded from players who own the original like ‘The Paragon’
If they get this wrong now, every new patch and piece of content will just stack on top of a foundation that already frustrates a lot of players, especially collectors. So yeah, 1,500+ posts on this topic shows that how DE handles FOMO/exclusivity is also a big deal to people who want to stick around long-term.
I'll give you a +1 for very well-written and well considered critique.
Personally, even though I registered on the forums literally on day 1 (but I was not lucky enough to be invited early), I am okay with the prelude flower pattern.
I do not think giving premium currency (and definitely not moonthreads, if anything give prem currency) would send the same message.
I definitely like the garden suggestions (and I am one of the Cursed Founders).
I reckon its more important tohave a good core stability than feeling unique cause others have flowers spawning behind them. But obviously, to each their own. I dont remember a single thread ever having that much traffic, albeit being absolutely useless for the development of the game.
Core stability is obviously the top priority, I don’t think anyone here disagrees with that.
But 1,500+ posts on one topic isn’t “useless” for development, it’s a huge signal about what people are worried about long term. Bugs get patched, crashes get fixed, but decisions about exclusivity, compensation and collections stick around for years.
We can’t help fix the netcode or servers, but we can give feedback on the philosophy and systems before they’re cemented
People are worried that they cant be unique and cool, are envious about anything and feel left out immediately. The flowers and honor was the most discussed subject in all times. Which says a lot about this community, imho.-
I am a completionist/collector with severe OCD that started in P11 and is well aware, that the 'Preludes Honour' is something I will not be able to obtain (at least for now, but let us be patient and see what the future holds).
Throughout this post I clearly see two messages/concerns and I have an answer to both of them:
-
"To ME it is a big problem."
-> It is literally impossible to make every single individual happy.
(Besides, if everybody loves everything you do without any exceptions - you are most likely doing something wrong or compromising at your own expense.) -
Envy and Ungratefulness.
-> Nobody forces you to play the game it is your choice alone and to put it quite frankly, if you do not like it - do not play it.
I see a trend since P12 which I could only describe as 'lazy behaviour'.
My guess is that there are many players who jumped on the founders-hype-train (without playing before) and instantly bought literally anything without any effort except for paying money (which is totally fine of course) but now they see one single item that they are not able to obtain (yet) thus voicing there concern in a rather extreme fashion (things like "they do not listen to the community", "they are unfair", "this game is crap" - for my answer to all of that = scroll up to 2.) and I am pretty sure that these are the same people filling literally all the discord-channels with often times the exact same questions that have been asked/answered many times before (even on the same day) which to me is like I stated 'lazy behaviour' that could easily be avoided.
-> Use the Search-button in Discord.
-> Watch a video on a specific topic you would like to know more about.
-> Read a guide or information in the internet (Avakot.wiki for example).
People crying cause others cant see their planted flower on instance 1, so they can show off. People cry cause they cant show off prelude honor, but others can, its ridiculous.
Envoys please remain civil both to each other and to the dev team
If you have issues with how the game is evolving or the implementation of Founders or the Market make constructive feedback posts about those issues.
I think you’re painting this in a way that doesn’t really match what a lot of people here are actually saying.
It’s not just “people want to be unique and cool” or “show off their flower on instance 1.” There are plenty of people in this thread who already have Preludes Honour or early flowers and are still saying they don’t like how this was handled. That doesn’t line up with simple envy.
Saying “if you don’t like it, don’t play” or calling it “lazy behaviour” kind of misses the point. People here do care about the game, that’s why they’re spending time writing long posts instead of silently uninstalling. Giving detailed feedback on systems and philosophy now is a lot healthier for the game than just shrugging and walking away.
Keep the conversation on topic
Nvm mb
I see it. Was curious how it was implemented
For a lot of us, the problem is structural:
- an RNG access phase
- a compensation cosmetic on top of that luck
- and then that cosmetic being made a permanent Compendium entry in a collection-driven game that was marketed as trying to avoid exactly this kind of thing
Most people ive seen here are not advocating for a way to get the item but rather just want it removed from the compendium so they are not reminded of not having everything collected.
At least that was the general consensus I saw from people
This, the issue isnt wanting to show off, its that somthing shouldn't be locked to a time where people didn't have access to the game
So would you be alright with them simply not showing it on the compendium or are you advocating for it to be obtainable?
it should be obtainable
That will just make it Excal Prime V2
even if it was the same way the paragon will be
So are you against all forms of exclusivity?
but it should not be a prmanent thing inaccessable from a time where people couldn't play the game
Likening one miniscule talisman to the mess of Excalibur Prime is quite extreme imo.

I think thats just unrealistic gonna be real with you chief.
Agreed especially since the talisman gives no MR, and functionally the same as Triune
idealy yes, but if somthing will be, it can't be from a time where people couldn't even play the game to get it
It doesnt, Excal Prime has gameplay features, the honor doesnt.
I’m not against all exclusivity. Founder cosmetics, clearly announced events, time-limited stuff where everyone has a fair shot – I’m fine with that. What I’m against is edge-case RNG exclusivity from a tiny pre-alpha window ending up inside a core collection system.
Why not? Its a gesture of thanks from DE to those players.
grrr I cant be unique anymore, I planted my flower but people can flex more than me??? grrr
then it should have been a gyph or somthing, not an actual item
Whats the difference
I feel like would hear about it even if it were a glyph
We would hear about it even if it was a title
Yeah i mean removing it from the compendium is one thing but asking them to rerelease it is just not going to happen. Theres so much bigger fish to fry in the current state of the game
as long as it's not on a list that will permanently have an empty slot cuz it's something unobtainable
When I said “Excal Prime V2”, I was talking about the principle: You can't see in your profile, but it is there.
And thats reasonable
And whats wrong with that?
removing it from the compendium does nothing, its still an inaccessable item
Excalibur Prime has more than that - People can reach higher Mastery Ranks early.
Meanwhile the talisman has what, a unique model and flowers?
It does something, you can look at your compedium and see it filled with everything you grinded, no empty spots, for a lot of peolpe that makes brain happy
i disagree
ik it would make me happy if I was one of the people without it
you still know its not complete
Wrong. Keeping it out of sight helps the most amount of people without losing the small token gifted to the early testers spending their time and having their account reset.
out of sight out of mind as they say

I wouldn't care if I couldn't see it
stop overblowing the account reset, it was like 2 quests and 6 weapons lol
its not some big thing
Yes and what's wrong with that? How do you feel about the moderators/guides of in Warframe having special cosmetic?
Respectfully you are the absolute extreme end of the spectrum highly unlikely to walk away from this happy. What you believe is inherently opposed to what DE wants and does.
Stop underestimating the time people spent in those early preludes.
If was months of gameplay lmao
Eh I think youre overblowing not having a small trinket that gives no advantage
Oh god we’re back on “They don’t deserve it”
The cycle continues
What's the difference between a glyph and a cosmetic trinket?
I mean this topic goes in a circle every single time
Envoys this is maybe the 20th time I've seen this same progression of "I think, you think" argument
So let's not do another spiral please
Leave Duviri for a bit
its not about deserving it, it about it not being exclusive to a time the game wasnt accessable
I don't think there's much of a fruitful discussion left to be had about this, both sides have already given their piece.
I think you think the 21st time will be the same am I right
I have the item and I've been advocating for the item to be given to people.
I simply think that removing it from the compendium is still a good compromise if other options won't be done.
Gotta be open to compromise with this one to make sure as many people as possible can feel satisfied with the outcome.
While removing it from the compendium isn't my number 1 choice, it does let people that got the item keep it while new players don't have to see or think about it.
So again I repeat, what would have been an appropriate thank you gift from DE to the player? You suggested a glyph, I ask whats the difference.
Haha fair enough im gonna just mute this convo I genuinely dont think theres anything anyone can say to further this topic from this point. I think every dead horse has been thoroughly smashed
Envoys
I may have been too subtle
Stop repeating, put the keyboard down for a bit
there doesnt need to be a thank you gift at all lol
and a glyph isnt a functional item
Shame we have no way to count the time yet
I get that re-releasing it might be unrealistic, but pre-alpha is exactly when you ask for the ideal, not after everything’s carved in stone.
Hiding it from the Compendium definitely helps with the constant “empty slot in your face” problem. But it doesn’t change the underlying pattern: early RNG access, apology cosmetic on top of that luck, permanently exclusive. People will still know it exists, and it will still be tied to “you had to be lucky.
You just said that it wasn’t about how deserved the honour was and yet you’re repeating your subjective opinion on how deserved it was.
to be fair there's at least 2 other talisman with the exact same stats so I wouldn't use it's functionality as an argument
Profiles would be dope, hopefully one day. 🤞
For sure
Don’t let an RNG-locked item live forever in a core collection system that’s supposed to be about long-term play, not invite lottery.
After 1600+ messages in this thread I feel like this isn't gonna go anywhere new, just arguing in circles about the same things
Yes
For the third time at least.
Well there's new people joining in to share their opinion
Nothing wrong with it as long as insults don't start getting thrown around
Although I refuse to believe that reconfiguring the item would satisfy. If DE were to delete the talisman and make it a Warframe style accolade the conversation would still be happening. The most extreme sides of this argument are just incredibly unlikely to walk away happy.
At this point we’re arguing how hidden the item should be and although wanting it to be hidden is reasonable it also opposes the intentional “bragging rights”.
So hiding it from the compendium is reasonable. Perhaps reimplementing in a way that isn’t an item you can equip, my longterm idea was adding it as a toggle in the settings. What isn’t reasonable is wide-spread distribution or to remove the cosmetic effect for example.
Not as such but when feedback threads bloat to 1000+ posts of the same points and opinions being repeated that makes it harder for devs to sift through
+1 for keeping it exclusive but hiding it from the compendium
Regarding the "RNG-locked":
I believe the first people with access to Soulframe were the ones that signed up on the website in 2022 and all of them got access when TennoCon-2022 was happening, which therefore cannot be described as "RNG-locked".
that not how it works
i signed up on day 1 when site went live and didn't get in til midway through p10
Nope, nobody was guaranteed entry.
My bad then - I thought it was a special access for those people back then (or the ones that attended TennoCon-2022).
Weekly invites began from around April of 2024. The first batch that got in was 500 people in December of 2023.
First guaranteed entry was for this year's Tennocon. If we don't count Stream codes.
getting in was pure rng until thay started doing devstreams and envoy hours not even a few months ago
I signed for alpha on the first day it was possible, got in on prelude 11
Agreed. Please hide it at least
and yet people will have you believe an item should be permanently inaccessable to you becuase you didnt win the lottory
There is no reason to display an item you cannot acquire in the Compendium. Hiding it would be a good step forward.
How about they create a Cursed Preludes Honor with a different effect for the people that didn't get in prior to Preludes 7. Basically the Flower problem in reverse 🙂
Either way my opinion stands:
I think it is wonderful when crossing paths with players and seeing a flower trail behind them, knowing that they were in Alca way before me.
Of course I get a tiny bit envious but not jealous at all since I totally believe that they deserve it.
i dont agree, there no reason somthing should be exclusive to before everyone could access the game
The item should be permanently inaccessible because you weren’t part of the group that experienced the event that justified the existence of the item.
Nobody is denying that it was lucky to get in. Doesn’t change the fact.
it 100% changes it, thats the whole point
I signed up on day 1 back when all you could do was enter your email and get the title. I confirmed my email and then waited, checking regularly for an invite. I didn’t get anything from those early waves, the only reason I got into Preludes was when they finally made it a Twitch drop for the first time.
Hmm. No. I don’t think so.
I'm not going to get into the circle, apologies.
Envoys I'm going to ask you one last time to refrain from having the same argument AGAIN @marble locust @eternal lava
I’m trying so hard.
I've seen both of you make these points countless times in different threads, agree to disagree and just stop responding
Before I time you both out
Two constructive proposals
-> try to picture these two scenarios:
-
Everybody who signed up before the reset (even if it is just one day) would receive a 'Preludes Honour' aswell.
-
Everybody who signed up before the reset BUT were not able to get access would receive a 'Cursed Preludes Honour' (same compendium slot)
- 2.1 it looks and does exactly the same thing
- 2.2 it has a different look and/or trail (to differentiate people who were cursed of having access, besides the diffrent name)
- Everybody who signed up AFTER the reset will not see an empty slot it in their compendium.
Would this make everybody happy in some way?
Did you just steal my idea? (only kidding) Yeah, I would be happy with that.
I just read 'Cursed Honour Preludes' and tried to enhance your genius idea into two possible proposals that I believe would have the potential to solve this whole issue.
Thank you for calling my idea genius, though I am not sure it is warranted lol Regarding you question, I'm sure it wouldn't make absolutely everyone happy, but I think it would make a lot more people happy.
Slightly off topic, but is there any way to check when you signed up? I can't for the life of me remember when I did it. I just remember doing it so long ago that I actually forgot about it.
Well, unfortunately you really can't make everyone happy.
-
Makes the "exclusive group" larger but ultimately still excludes a lot of people
-
Creates another item that someone else will miss out on, unless it's given to literally every account that is ever created, repeating this very same cycle.
For example if someone from the extreme end misses out on option 1, 2 wont be good enough for them, because they know 1 talisman still exists but they cannot obtain it.
Atleast that's how i see it
You can check your email for when you registered
Very true, I think the discussion can always only be about making **more **people happy
Sadly, all the email got sent to my spam, so they are lost to the ether... But thanks 🙂
F
The only thing unique about the honour, is just the visuals, stat wise it's a clone of the Circade talisman, like how the original was a clone of the triune mote. Not having it isn't going to make you lose on game progress, or give others an item with no equivalent mechanically.
That's my piece here on this.
-
At no fault of their own the players who signed up but didn’t have access prior to P7 didn’t experience the reset which regardless of personal feelings is the intent of the item. Considering this I disagree with its distribution to those players. An item for people who signed up in preludes already exists or will do in the future.
-
Any form of distinct alternative item is a fine compromise in my eyes however I don’t believe it should be associated with ‘The Cursed Founders’ simply to avoid confusion. I would recommend a name different to whatever DE chooses to do regarding the Cursed Founders but that aside.
No matter what way this topic is spun i still go back to the two options that i personally found most agreeable.
A) The talisman is simply hidden from the Compendium
B) The talisman is given the same functionality as the Paragon Greatsword. Blueprints of it can be shared by its original owners.
You should have a confirmation email
They said it went to Spam so it's been deleted after enough days.
Unless that is treated different i guess
With what it is, A is arguably better, since it's not an item that has a mechanical difference to an existing item and has no MR tied behind its existence.
I understand most of the points and arguments in this topic, but does anyone here actually expect the game to never have anything exclusive, ever? Live service games heavily rely on time-sensitive content to keep people from jumping ship to another game.
Like @faint walrus said, you cannot do anything on this subject without recreating the same treadmill and old points of discussion either by creating even more exclusion, or widening the exclusion and still excluding others.
This talisman is just a cosmetic, given it matches the Circade Talisman in stats. With that, I just expect it to be another exclusive collectible, just like the myriad that will come later in the game's history.
If you want to be a completionist in an online game, you need to play it day 1 and remain active until the servers shut down. There is no other option if that's what you care about.
Yeah, that's what happens to spam for me. I only received another email asking me to finish the account setup prior to Tennocon 2025, but that is definitely not when I signed up.
I edited it so it now contains all ideas and it is the best I could think of or offer in any way.
I give up now. >.<"
Well i'm sure many wanted to be a completionist but unfortunately the access was (understandably) very limited at the time
I get why some people are upset. I also get why some people want it to remain a special thing for the event they went through. This really is a prime example of you can't please everyone.
One of the more significant arguments is that the exclusivity isn’t fair since access to the game that early was entirely luck dependent which isn’t inherently incorrect. I do agree with everything else you’ve said however.
yeah, and thats just the way the cookie crumbles. If you're not in a live service game from day 0, there's going to be things you miss out on. This Talisman is just an echochamber for what the rest of the game will have.
not everyone was a closed beta tester for Warframe and it has an Accolade
True, true.
Day 0/1 means release not a X10 pre X1 alpha stage
Well, there's technically an alternative here, albeit a bit extreme one.
Remove the talisman, add an accolade to the profile (When ((hopefully)) Soulframe gets them). No more empty slot in Compendium. Players that went through the wipe are recognized but not in a way that affects the most obsessed collectors.
Yes it does lol, but I won't argue with you. Stages like Alpha and beta should be for development and testing. You joy should be playing the game early. Most sane games reset on full release and don't keep stuff exclusive behind early development rng access
Emphasis on sane games
in a perfect world, a game would never add items that are innaccessible to anyone under any circumstances, but that's just not how live service games create "rewarding" rewards.
maybe you're new to Digital Extremes, but "testing" is what they do until the end of time. You're a QA guinea pig the entire time you're playing the game.
I would be fine with this too though I don’t think it would help much. You’d have to ask the players affected.
Yeah, hence why i said it's a bit extreme.
And yes, we would hear about the accolade, too. I realize that.
I really appreciate all the compromise ideas being thrown around (Cursed Honour, variants, etc.), but for me they all still run into the same core problem:
- you’re still creating multiple layers of exclusivity, and
- someone, somewhere, will always be permanently locked out of one version of the same thing.
What I’d like is actually very simple:
Preludes Honour should remain the same talisman and eventually be obtainable again (e.g. in the shop), while early players keep it for free and keep the story of having it first.
I’m not asking for zero exclusivity in Soulframe. I know live-service games will always have some time-limited stuff, and I’m fine with exclusives where everyone has a clear, fair opportunity to opt in (founder packs, events, seasons, etc.).
Hiding it from the Compendium would help, but it doesn’t really address that underlying issue. Making the same item earnable later (while early testers keep their free version and their “I was there first” story) is, in my opinion, the cleanest way to respect both early players and the long-term “no locked-out players” philosophy DE talked about. This is how they made Founder items work.
100% this
Yeah. Not all of the players with complaints can be grouped together, they have different priorities some of which are more valid than others in my opinion.
I feel empathy for the players upset about lacking a cool cosmetic, even the players who are upset about not being able to finish the Compendium.
The players who just want everything regardless of reason, importance, etc, are an extreme I don’t think it’s healthy to make decisions based on.
Should the people who didn't put the email in for the lottery and only started playing because of the founders hype get the item too then? They would have missed it even if there wasn't a lottery.
Personally i think yes, it should be avalible at the very least until the preludes phase ends
If the item is eventually earnable later, the representation of "I was there first" is lost, as wearing it really has no meaning to it, unless you label the item somehow to differentiate where you got it, in which case you're back at square 1. I don't think there's anything you can do to appease a skewed expectation of availability from a game like this.
To summarize some proposals:
-> picture one, multiple or some combination of these scenarios:
-
Everybody who signed up before the reset (even if it is just one day) would receive a *'Preludes Honour' aswell
-
Everybody who signed up before the reset BUT were not able to get access would receive a *'Cursed Preludes Honour' with the same compendium slot
- 2.1 it looks and does exactly the same thing
- 2.2 it has a different look and/or trail (to differentiate people who were cursed of having access besides the name)
-
Everybody who signed up AFTER the reset would not see an empty slot it in their compendium.
-
Everybody who has a 'Prelude Honour' is able to give out blueprints (like the 'Paragon Greatsowrd')
*Proposed names are not meant to be finite
I will just leave this here and hopefully it can contribute to solve the issue - with this said, I am out of the conversation.
Much love!
~LT
I’m not saying “every account that ever exists forever must have it.” I’m saying that while we’re still in the Preludes era, a cosmetic that literally has “Preludes Honour” in its name shouldn’t be permanently locked to a tiny RNG-selected group from the earliest wave.
So you would end up excluding others and someone else would take the place you're currently in. It really is an endless cycle.
the diffrence is everyone has the opotunity to be here now
Oh?
What if they don't hear about Soulframe before it releases?
The name is insignificant compared to the intent we can deduce from the description.
the chance was still there
Everyone had the chance to be picked to join the Preludes
Don't bother you can't discuss with elitists. They have to feel special for losing 5h of progress in a game stage where accounts are expected to be reset..because you know.... It's early development, multiple stages away from even beta, nevertheless release.
The chance was there
Since Steve said he wants it to be a "I was there" t-shirt I vote we turn it into an actual t-shirt
The cycle continues. We’re back to hyperbole.
The only thing that changed were the odds.
In your scenario everyone has much higher odds
No, not an actual t-shirt, a t-shirt in game our envoy can wear
But someone will end up excluded
They will make this very same thread
And we will repeat this cycle
thats the most disingenuous thing i have ever read lmao
What I’m trying to change is where that line is drawn and how you get there. Being excluded because you joined years after launch is normal. Being excluded because access itself was RNG in a tiny pre-alpha window, while you were already signed up and actively trying to get in, feels very different.
So yeah, there will always be a last call – I just think that for something literally called Preludes Honour, the line should be:
– “Did you play during Preludes at all?”
not
– “Were you lucky enough to be in the earliest invite lottery?”
Read this to understand my point: https://discord.com/channels/998758139405029478/1443277797371154605
"fair" describes the opportuniy and odds, not whether you get picked or not
This seems like a little bit of an infinite loop with no real 'catch-all' solution; if a previously exclusive item like this is re-released, the original owners will often ask for some manner of alternative compensation to preserve the value they found in the original item. However, in doing that, you've added something else that the other players don't have and we repeat the cycle
There's no perfect solution - I suppose my best suggestion would be to make an item that is entirely identical in all but name (aka it's just a Preludes Honour with a different name), then remove Preludes Honour from the compendium, and therefore the "I was here first" value exists solely in a different item name
preludes access has always been fair
We were talking chances, were we not?
I expect update 13 to not be called prelude anymore, as apparently, we are not playing prelude anymore..hence people that didn't win lottery cannot be honourable preluders
Alright Envoys I'm locking this thread, since I started keeping an eye earlier today I've seen the same argument play out about five times now and new information is clearly not being added
