One of the solution i think to add is to have way more cool things to do to improve your camp with better design and look when you can have guild, mayve even replacing camp with a real house so that other friends can see how much you improved it over time. Maybe having NPC walking around helping you. Then to have trophy room, even special room just for your armor to place it for other to see what else you collect and have. Reids like big boss 6 players for example like after end of dungen you have cool boss fight with more then 1 blueprint loot. Imagine having something for everyone to see your hard work how powerful you are for example some cool attachments unique colors and even cape that you can have on. Also world to change if you defeat a castle some NPC can take over that castle like in far cry type a thing so that you know whay you are fighting for. In that specific plaxe yoy get xp bonus boost ans store offer for your trouble. Because if we don't have all that after we finish everything then there is no really point to go back if you have all swords and armors. Maybe even if they add like learning new combat fighting styles and specific dungeness that can only be played if you are specific gear level... So many things but whats important is sense of progression that im really hoping to have and good reason to become stronger and so on...

There's only 7 fables in the game and a handful of world bosses, we have a long way till it feels like we have a reason to progress and get stronger, but that's also the point about closed alpha and beta tests, they dont need an earlygame, mid game, and endgame when it's story isn't even fleshed out when it's mostly story based, give it a couple more years then give feedback on potential endgame, feature creep is a very real thing and we need to try to keep it from happening before the end of the preludes

Yea but warframe last this long because there isn't that many games in that co op sci fi swords shooting powers direction. But medieval type games are everywhere,so needs to pop up more from other games that are similar to that medieval rpg world. I know that game is far from over. But I think they expected new players to be interested in to join not just warframe players. So im suggesting what they can focus on adding so that game becomes even more unique and appealing fro players to play for much longer. We need a good reason so we need good sense of progression and not just another mini story and a new sword. So many games also offers that and even more so they needs to have that level of excitement. So we don't have to circles around saying what we already know that is missing. We are here to help what they can add and improve... I already love the game but what if all this turns out for nothing and game become dead without even knowing it. This game is for small circles but they need to gather more players and in order for that they need something big

Honestly, I dont get why some people treat this game as if its already released.
This is still pre-alpha. This is by definition an unfinished game. If anyone want to compare this game with any other released game, it doesnt make sense IMO.
Yes they give lots of access for people to try it. We still have to treat it accordingly. We are testers of a game that still have a long way to go before release.
If we want to recommend this to our friend, or someone else random, we should disclose that clearly IMO.
If I say "hey friend, try this game, its called Soulframe" i think its not a good idea at this stage.
Instead, for me, i would just say "hey friend, want to become tester of this upcoming game? Its called soulframe" since it will give them at least different expectation.
All the issues you mention above is expected for a game that is still pre-alpha.

I have no idea what that word soup says?

But as far as I can tell, you're saying there's no hook for this game, which is just wrong.

If you're saying "we need more for them to justify a founders" track record would also indicate you are just wrong

#

They are going to make oodles of money from these founders packs, because they're one of the few companies who actually respects their players and builds their games on player feedback.

We can trust that whatever they choose to do it the future, it will be content we enjoy and that isn't abusive of our time or money.

That's all there is to it.

That's like asking what the endgame of Warframe would be during the period in time they were offering founders- there's no way anyone could've imagined what the game turned into, and it was better than anyone could've expected based on it's humble beginnings.

#

I suspect this game will be more of the same.

It's not even publicly available yet

they start something left it and move on even if it good they left to something else

The devs have literally said that they are focusing on narrowing down the main gameplay loop.

Endgame content of any kind is at least a year away. What the heck are you complaining about?

graphic is ok combat not bad exploration is ok in some way in some its nice...but farming 1 weapon or armor over and over again its not end game

What can they change to become even better
I'd like it if we & DE focus on the fundamentals, as it is still pre-alpha;

  • Many enemy animations provide less than ideal support for reactive combat, ie. they're unreactable, has poor pacing between wind-up, swing and end-lag, or poor silhouettes to distinguish the attack from combat idle/moving. This will likely become painfully obvious once a hardmode where failure matters is added.
  • Multiplayer appears to be very host authoritative (I say appears because I genuinely lack tools & deeper insights to say for sure, and am just speculating based on what I see). There's a lot of the melee combat that could be more client authorititative, because cheating is a) lower impact due to the purely cooperative nature, and b) still technically possible for the host. This could reduce the amount of janky looking animations, desync, and other replication issues in multiplayer, at the potential cost of players themselves appearing more out of sync (Helldivers is a rather good example of having more client authoritative systems for bullets & enemy animations etc.). I think "better netcode" is what you'd hear this in average gamer discourse.
  • Armour (And most offensive/defensive RPG aspects) system needs a fair few tweaks & layers to it. Right now it disproportionately punishes rapid hits, due to not having a cap on the flat absorption (or well, technically caps at reduced to 1 damage), and if the player offensive scaling boundaries remain roughly as is, this system will not hold up well for very long.
  • Investigate if its technically feasible for the engine update to run at 60hz, or at least for input & hit detection. It'd reduce the input delay and allow for locked 60fps without frame interpolation to have just 16ms input latency as opposed to the ~50-80 we have now, which is a very big upgrade gameplay feeling wise for a more reactive "decisions matter" melee focused game, but also helps with aiming at moving targets.

Progression will come with time, friend! There's not much content in the game now, but there are still reasons to become stronger, like facing the bosses around the map.

Unfortunately, a lot of what you are describing sounds like content, which is added during the Beta phase of development. The game is still in Pre-Alpha, which means defining the game's identity, developing core systems, and reworking very integral parts of gameplay often. As such, endgame and long term time investments aren't a part of the game yet!

Your idea for raids is very cool, abd DE did day they are experimenting with Sieges, which would be somewhat similar: larger fights where you go between multiple bosses. This is still in early days though, so changes will come to it in the future!

Thanks so much for your feedback, and hopefully upcoming changes will help fill in what you think is missing from the game!

# fiery cradle im realistick

You're "realistic" in the way you're treating the game as if it's fully released, but we have a handful of story quests, you do realize Warframe was their last ditch attempt to exist, they had to hit a home run or die, they don't have to worry about that anymore they can work at their own pace and release 1.0 when they feel that it's ready, we are in the iteration phase, they completely reworked the mod system in soulframe in p11, we're getting founders in p12 as well as some onboarding changes, they're not focused on what to do when you're done with early game because early game isn't done yet, so mid game doesn't exist, thus endgame CANNOT exist, youre putting the cart before the horse, ATM the point of playing soulframe is finding bugs and giving feedback, making an endgame before early and mid game isn't feedback

You're paying to get your name in the game and to support it

#

It's going to have the same monetization as Warframe

strong ivy
#

It means they are looking for support to make the project from here on out!

fiery cradle
strong ivy
#

The purchase is for in game items, not for the game.

#

And it is not illegal to source early funding for a project with in game items, especially as they are not charging to dowload or play the game!

fiery cradle
#

Hmm ok no need to be charged up about it. You know when you spend money on something it is normal to know on what you are spending. It can also mean we can spend money not knowing the success and game be shooting down after a year or 2 similar on what they did on pvp shooter i forgot the name and with wayfinder game

strong ivy

Unfortunately, that is the risk of backing a project early, sometimes it doesn't work out. We're hoping this one goes super well though!
