Shiny is literally that, a cosmetic effect that is shiny, also has a special flare in the tooltip. (technically it is called Moonsteel)
Legendary is the highest craftwork, with up to 8 perks.

I mean, what can u do to force the save and restart the session after
the bow is only as strong as the archer
Usually exiting the game should save the inventory, but for safety I generally go to the Nightfold first (which should also be a save trigger).
That said I meant the world spawn resetting when entering and exiting a dungeon.

All weapons have it. Its generally weapon rarity and goes 1-3. It does seem to correlate with power though Orst III also has different tiers that dont effect the stars.

You do get some kind of boost for smiting a wyld pact's matching color.
They got that difference added back to them.
Idk if it's an attack boost or a virtue boost though, some kinda damage increase either way.

The main benefit of wyld is that having both base and wyld is like having a orokin reactor on your pact. They pool upgrade points
The glow on your arm sticks around for eternity, but the buff lasts for 20 seconds.

You're not using a wyld weapon right? (as they have their own separate buff which would conflict with testing the pact buff)

Before and after getting a smite, and it wasn't even matching, it was blue.

Smite is Soulframe's equivalent of a 'Critical Hit' system, it's how you perform Pull Smites on enemies to recharge your Rune etc

Yeah, so you lost some smite chance. Definitely the buff from the arts then
3/50 = 6/100, which is less than 9/100
You were getting +3% smite chance from arts

That's...honestly kinda sweet? Especially for low base damage weapons like dual short blades
A flat buff means they get way more percent benefit from the buff

And got the same numbers with the Wyld. So yeah I think it was just Voided increasing your weapon damage after a pull smite @distant jungle - Wyld Pacts are still cosmetic only (other than the extra 30 available arts from ranking both variants)

Oh, I do know now that post-death smites sometimes not working despite being mentioned in the patch notes as fixed is not a rune problem.

I guess I wasn't paying attention when the game taught me how to do it, but what does sucking up the colors do?
That's a pull smite, it damages the enemy heavily and does other stuff based on your pact arts, like buffing your damage or healing you
It also recharges your rune, visible by the gold gauge around your spirit arcanic
And it also restores some cooldown for the arcanic corresponding to the colour of the soul you smite

Yes it's early days haha, this is the one built by the actual community but because the for-profit organisations like Fextra put a lot of money into their SEO, it will take a while for google to fully catch up with what the community are doing
it's happening slowly but surely though, which is good! 
How does magic and wizard shenanigans work in soulframe? Is it "Staff that is pretty much a gun by another name" kind of thing or is more ability/spell based?
It depends which type of magic - the staves and wrist casters (weapon types) are both guns with light or charged casts
but then the abilities from pacts are all pretty unique, and especially the ones from Oscelda (witch pact) where you can turn enemies to stone, or conjure a flock of birds to distract and stagger enemies, it's a neat fantasy.
Then you've got runes, which have various effects ranging from your simple fire attacks to things like conjuring waves of misty energy from your sword or turning yourself invisible

How does Unsula work, it does a whole bunch of random clanging but I cant figure out what it's actually doing The clanging is my bromius pact reducing armor values. blocking with Unsula also seems really slow for what is essentially dual daggers. Also sometimes dogs are immune to these, may just be me skirting a line between enemy level and weapon output

I myself have found use for Orengall, Bromius and Sirin, the three I currently possess.
Tethryn and Oscelda, Possibly Sirin (That makes all three starting pacts) had I not picked it, are available for standing from Lady Deora. You needn't worry about missing out.

parrying is so strong in this game, it's kind of disappointing how most world bosses seem to crumble if you just parry
Any idea what the fogman/wandering soul inside the dungeons does? I think I can smite him but is that all?
That's the ghost of Fenn Jotar, he used to be an introduction to the pull smite mechanic yeah, you would bond with his soul and wield his flaming sword until you exited the dungeon
Now he's used to give the player a free rune during Torment Stag (I think) - but it makes him a bit buggy in any interactions outside that later in the game. It makes your spectral sight go weird and you have to relog

He gives the rune after the dungeon but also a free temporary rune for the duration of the dungeon 
Which... Overrides any already equipped runes...
As far as I know it only gives a rune if you have a starter weapon type equipped (sword, magick, bow).
Fairly sure he is only supposed to do that in Tormented Stag as well.

Hey everyone, yesterday I lvled up my standing with Alca's Children, it consumed my standing, gave me a reward and set back to lvl 1 with 0 standing. Today I finished crafting a bunch of weapons which was enough to lvl up standing with Tuvalkane from 2 to 3, but instead of leveling it reset me to lvl 2 with 0 standing. Is this bug or an expected behavior?
Bug (for Tuvalkane), though most likely just visual, after reloging should return the correct value.
Factions start at rank 0, so you most likely have the correct ranking, though if not a relog should fix that too.

Though Spirit by itself reduces the cooldown of all abilities.

Red abilities by Courage, Green ability by Spirit, and Blue abilities by Grace.

The virtues do have effect by themselves, as described in the Virture screen. (Courage = defense and lots of HP, Spirit cd reduction, Grace stealth multipliers)
If you meant how they are empowered the wiki does have some breakdowns, not sure they are all updated though, but should be fairly indicative.

Archers are a priority target, slugs are a mortal threat, abilities recharge slower so don't count on them too much (approximately once per encounter).
Heal on pull smite is quite useful since there are less heals going around.

You start with 50, and each purchase is 50 more. (up to 300)
but what they meen buy invetory is it the invotory for weapon?
Inventory is combined, they all use the same slots.
(Loadout slots are a separate thing still though)

No, there are no separate categories of slots.
Do keep in mind that the camel will show how many slots you have left, not how many you have.
If you have Sollos (weapon), Thetren set (helm, chest, pants), Witan (Sidearm), and Thetren Pact you will have used 6 slots out of your starter 50.
Yeah, the system was changed recently and the ingame explanation are still a bit poor (not that the previous system was well explained either).

If you have the Arcs buy more, if only playing with the starter ones, see if you got some extra Orst to throw away, failing that start to see what Armor and Weapons you want to keep (I don't suggest selling the Pacts).
Only Armor (Talisman excluded), Weapons and Pacts occupy slots.
Things you have the fragments to recraft are the most likely best choices to sell, after you have maxed them at least once if they are weapons.

lutris is like a steam emulator, but steam runs natively on linux now with linux runtime and proton experimental

i know warframe runs only when using proton experimental, it goes around its anticheat check i think or just makes it possible to continue the anticheat check, not sure, without it the game stops installing at the anticheat section

First time ranking gear to max gives you a fixed amount of total account XP that total account level raises your attribute points

FoV increases field with a lens like approach PoV increase is likely what youre seeking. And its currently not a thing. Just FoV adjustment

I like 70. I'd like it more if they didn't move my camera randomly mid-combat.
This dynamic cam they have going on needs to not. My fov needs to stay at my fov.
Especially since it has an aggravating tendency to shove my character directly in the center of my screen.
I try to aim anything, like a throw, and I'm met with the middle of my own back for a view.
The fact that you cannot turn off the dynamic cam makes me somewhat upset at times.
I think that camera's only been my bane when you get totally swamped.. but then i'm usually more annoyed by the target selection than the camera at that point.
A few updates back these runes were added in the compendium but I don't remember there being mention of them in the notes at the time, are they actual ones that can be acquired or something that just got put in mistakenly?
That's been a bug for a while in any compendium, phantom copies.
If its shape is the exact same as something you already have, it doesn't actually exist.
That's why they confused me, they have the same shape is the Forburn rune, but they have the different weapon icons in the corner, so I wasn't sure if some fire rune just got added for those weapon types

Those are all just phantom copies of the shield's fire rune.
The Compendium sometimes does that. Just shows phantom copies. Been an issue since it became an option.

That's not a waterfall, its a variation on a Moaner. The ode can't drink water. They have to drink Ichor.
Compendium has a good purpose. It just needs a bit of smacking around with a wrench.

Yep. Once per night.
For the vadagars best bet is finding a tree with a votive for them
Hey Guys, can you explain what are benefits of craftmanship I want to reforge Orst 3 and Ive got one Noble and Military both have 3 modifiers and Mitary one has better modifiers than noble so better to stick with military or not?
Higher craftwork tiers have higher ranges, Military has 2-4, Noble has 3-5.
Also, each tier has +3 base damage, so Noble would be slightly stronger.
And this comes out to greater than 3, as your scaling cap is proportional to base.
Between Stock and Legendary the difference is apparently closer to 50-ish.

yeah, i found the scroll to progress but it didnt proc the next step so i relogged to see if that would fix it. instead its now softlocked pointing me to a different spot on the map thats for a different sidequest i had already completed

Well, we do know it was planned for a while, but many details of it shifted heavily behind the scenes
'Just put these as green for now' doesn't make sense when every weapon has its own seemingly tailored selection.
I don't think someone sat with the buttons of what gets what and just slapped them all to random settings.

No one said it was all random. Could just be that they hit a time crunch while figuring out what should be what rarity, and thus some ended up as "just default to green if undecided by this time, so we can get the update out".

We've seen DE fix a few things that I thought had been intentionally the way they were, because they were that way before I got into the game.
And some of those are recent fixes in p14 and 14.5.
For anyone unaware, I got in during mid-P6.
Fixes always have a prio list
Ones that are entirely cosmetic and don't impact cognitive understanding are likely near the bottom

Every time you open a sarcofagus you should get 1 minimum.
Go look up a guide on Crypt of Circade puzzles just to make sure you arent missing any secret rooms n stuff
Just playing the game normally you should get tons of it. Like I think I'm at 50/60 after a couple of days of just running around levelling stuff.
Crypt is the fastest way to get it though if you need some quickly to craft something

I think my only (yeah only) gripe with the game at this point is the melee animations looking as "slidey" as they are. I enjoy how punchy and impactful wf's animations are compared to the wishy washy melee that's currently here. Hopefully de can make that look a little more punchy and still keep the slower combat style
The player and enemies do lunge like they're on a slip-and-slide sometimes, yeah.
Especially with spacing being such a big part of combat, and the first thing I'd tell someone to learn.
Whenever a lot of space is closed, it's via skating along the ground awkwardly.
Throws me off when an enemy does it to me occasionally cus it's hard to judge their range when they slide like that.
Makes their reach disconnected from their animations.
You know, I just got access to the game today, and I have been absolutely loving it!
But I do really feel the game should have some sort of parkour system, similar to assassins creed.
Manteling, and running along fences, and perhaps a double jump with specific classes?
But damn, the weight of your attacks and the flow of the game feel so damn good!
There will eventually be a basic mantling system so you can vault over stuff and haul yourself up onto ledges.
it very much reminds me of a Rocksteady Batman game with the combat sometimes.
Enemies in a queue to attack you and just slide in from wherever they were standing to make their attack
which dont get me wrong, can make for some incredibly fun melee combat. I think (and hope) in soulframe's case once there are a larger variety of enemies with different kinds of attacks it wont have that disconnected feel

It also adds base damage per tier, +3 per tier, to a max of +12 for Legendary. This isn't insignificant because max scaling is proportionate to base damage, so the damage difference at the end is closer to 50.
And 50 damage means a heck of a lot.

Not in the hallways or the little end tiles (the ones with the T shape room with tombs at each side and in the middle) but most of the room tiles have a puzzle element
other than the main puzzle of the crypt, I keep seeing like the idea of a puzzle that leads nowhere each room and I'm so confused
like the long rage hittable thing in the first room that moves the lil platforms that goes nowhere, or the plate connected to the statue in a room that does nothing, or the room with the 2 pressure plates that do nothing
The one in the opening room gives you access to the tomb up top there, it's not always lootable though. The statue that moves can be a connector to more rooms depending on tile generation. Not sure what you mean by room with two pressure plates but often those will open a wall panel leading to a chest
oh the top tomb can be lootable??? ok that explains a lot it hasn't been in my 5 runs of the crypt, there is a room with a pressure plate in the middle and another under some rubble that you can press

the damage is not base damage though, it is equivalent to level up damage which is flat, making this actually just a +15 difference

you can brew a cogah potion.
Always drink it once both of you are in a group already.
This makes the game harder. Enemies scale higher, you get less heal potions and so on.
You have to revive each other instead of the normal respawn.
Once both of you die, or abandon a boss it ends.

just don't beg for a code please, while the game is playable it's mostly collecting weapons and armor past about the 10h mark or so, possibly less depending on how fast you do the story content that does exist.

You will get no scaling on it which will severely limit its usefulness, you can try to improve the Spirit Arts in the pacts, or get the +6 Spirit Talisman from the Alca's Children faction.

Ah, Cogah. I get my butt handed to me during normal gameplay enough to know that ain't for me... I need stagger immunity before I even attempt it, been stunlocked so many times by two enemies perfectly staggering their attacks it's not even funny when it happens any more 'cause I literally can't do anything but die.
Between that and enemy targeting as well as the ability of certain shield users to block everything and suffer no consequences... yeah. nah.
Hey, I wanted to ask something about the current state of Soulframe. Since I’m playing through the early access/prelude phase, I’m a bit unsure if the game is still heavily unfinished or if there just isn’t much of a clear gameplay goal yet. Right now it feels more like exploration/testing than progression. Is that intentional for this stage of development, or are bigger gameplay systems and objectives planned later on?
I'd consider Soulframe at this stage core complete. some systems are going to change, but gameplay loop I feel will largely remain the same. The addition of swimming I think may have been the last big thing that was missing.
That's totally intentional, the game is still in pre-alpha 😄 bigger stuff is planned later on, you may wish to tune into the devstream to hear about their plans for the next update; or tune into TennoCon to hear about plans for the future

Yeah specifically T3 NE bounties, fast dungeon ones are good, and ofc selling your favours before you reach the inventory cap of 50

- Avakot's Gots, where you wanna buy rare mats when they come into rotation
you should be able to enter it, you might have to come back at night tho and kill the ghost at the entrance first

My thing right now is that everything's slow (mostly rep, levelling weapons and pacts), but that's how it is. Gonna have to go around the map killing all the open world bosses at some point too I guess to gather those frags

Quartz comes in small numbers. Kind of like brass. If you're farming enclave standing around the northeastern part of the map. I get the avakots got merchant in a lot of the 3* quests who often has 10 for you (Shop refreshes every 3 hours or so. It will show you). Pay your respects shows up for crypt. And any time you can get a treasure chest with the blue marking on the top, during a quest: You can get quite a few through those.
Takes time. But easier than moranite or sappheline. And at least can be done while doing the long enclave grinding between the current 3. 
can someone tell me how combat arts levels work? my magick is stuck at level 9 and my short blade is stuck at 4
You can get 3 moranite in like 30 seconds per run across one of the beaches
You get combat arts by levelling up weapons of that type
A given weapon will cap its level at 30, at which point you should have 5 arts points from that weapon. Crafting and levelling multiple of the same weapon will not give you an additional 5, only crafting a new weapon entirely

Based on the amount of weapons of that type, so it varies.
Shields for example only have 3 weapons, so they currently max at 15

P15 cannot get here quick enough
Long blades have 14, so they max at 70 points. Though, there's only 30 some points worth of arts upgrades so you'll go over the amount you need fairly easily there

Higher level enemies give more xp, and you have to actually use/wield the weapon to level it so don't neglect your sidearm. Personally advise running Faction Tales, not the fastest levelling method but it's solid and lets you farm faction rep at the same time.
They did mention some fast travel related stuff in the "coming with p15" thingy

Faction tales can be started from world trees
You can track them in journal and follow through them like a mini bounty quest

Wth is up with maestro armor farming? Sometimes I only get a rune. Sometimes just an assortment of crafting material? Gotten the helm is all in like 10 fights.

Incorrect. My dagger has largely ridden sidecar and it still levels, albeit at a vastly reduced rate.
I know this because I don't use it nearly enough for it to be almost fully leveled, and also getting notifications when it does.
Same thing with Odiac. They're neat, but not entirely useful except as a directed balloon popper. I suppose If I had reflect.exe from the casting weapon arts it'd be useful for mirifuir.
There are some sourced of universal XP, and playing in multiplayer can also impact XP for unused weapons
However, when it comes to kills, including smite kills and mockery kills, only the weapon in hand will get XP
I don't do multi-player, mostly because the people I gave my codes to lost interest.
Things like Moaners count as Objective XP which is evenly split. Pretty sure Totem charming does as well.
Those may be where that XP is coming from for your sidearm.
Does the Virtue passives on pacts matter on the time of day? The wording is wonky to the point I am just unsure. I don't want to waste pact point on something that is time dependant...

Was even a whole issue with Mockeries as a result because they used to only give Pact XP

That could be the way it is and it could've been from objective (I love auto-incorrect, please put more words in my mouth) completions and charms for the most part, but even then I don't think I gained enough XP from those.

It gives lots of health and with your weapon being set and no abilities it's very valuable to have more life

The game doesn't get much harder, it's sadly suffered a bit of player powercreep in the past 2 updates. There is a temporary hard mode called Cogah that uses a potion you craft, it lasts just for one play session, but it doesn't really increase the difficulty of their AI just the enemy levels and I think spawns too

Completely agreed, and same here! They did mention Cogah might get an update in P15, so I'm hoping it might become more of a general hard mode for players like us? But really I just want the game to start challenging us a little bit like it used to in P12 and earlier. I killed Nimrod (who's meant to be a boss fight) in 5 seconds yesterday 😔
Yeah it needs a little bit of a challenge. They could just up the h.p off all the enemies and add some more hordes
Idk about hordes because that's more of a warframe thing - DE have said they want Soulframe to be more about dueling your individual enemies (honestly similar to elden or sekiro in that sense where every enemy is an actual threat to the player) - but in the last update the enemy density has increased a bit
I personally hope against hordes because they're not fun or interesting compared to being able to focus on a cool dangerous enemy and learn their moveset/timings
But DE are currently taking it in the direction of hordes, so we'll have to see what they choose at the end of the day
yeah so idk about adding more hordes since its really annoying as a melee player, but i do think that the game is a little easy

If you farm enclave standings, a 2* quest called pay your respects will guide you
Look for a graveyard
One of the center tombs will have a sarcophagus you can open with a key to enter the crypts
Do know, you cannot respawn inside the crypts. If you die, you will be respawning outside the dungeon and will need a new key

only thing i wouldnt recommend doing in co op are quests/fables, progression for those is in most cases tracked only for the host

i don't think you can replay fables in coop. i tried selecting replay waste bear but it just said 'do you want to leave your party '.
Players can certainly join after the fable is started at least, but it's still very much not reccommended
Is it okay to ask why is it not recommended? I wanted to replay it with friends and don't really see why it's bad to experience it together with them.
It tends to only progress the quest for the host, so after the party disbands the clients will have to replay most of the quest.
It also can lead to some very frustrating bugs that can stop you from being able to continue until your relog sometimes.

I like everyone's world being their own world with its own progression, keeps things simple.
I don't think WF or SF are designed around seamless multiplayer for story content.
And trying to make it seamless comes with its own host of potential bugs.

Yeah, wazzards set is rough. I get so many of the weapon fragments instead. But seems way more promising than the ridiculius ravgot wyrm not giving a nettle fragment... anything but that.. id be happy.

By the way, I only have 1 last weapon before I have 100% of the weapons but the damn thing is being a real pain. That being Tessard, worst part being I have enough shards to craft multiple extra Nurash and Stultin. So far my loop is to hit the Thrice-Bound spot and then loop through all the ruins to the east, circling up to the crypt near the seige. Then looping back down to the Thrice-Bound spot.
Does anyone know of a spot with a good density on these woody bastards?

im so annoyed. tried going for the circada armor but the first tiem i tried doing it with my thrown weapon wich seeme dto hit the gems twice making that attempt void. now i got myself a secondary and this gemstone has like an invisible corcefield around it. i cant hit it with my primary or secondary for some reason eventho i did the sequence correctly

Can someone explain to me why I am doing a quest that I stumble upon a NPC that is specific to this quest and it says I do not have the talisman for this quest... wouldn't you think this talisman would have been an objective befor starting or even after starting said questline???
Must be related to one of the factions other than the one you gain access to at the beginning. You'll need to craft the respective taslisman

The quest you did likely was the one to simply unlock the Silent Rose hideout.
Actually interacting with Deora requires switching factions entirely.

Would say...Rise Envoy, The Last Pensieve, the Torment Stag, A Shewolf Snared, Brewer of Hues, the Steelsinger, The Waste Bear, and the Wreck of Maestra Carmo are probably the ones that impact the main storyline?
The Grand Fable is also pretty important but is more there to help tesch game mechanics and learn Orlick lore.
Do Steelsinger as early as possible, that's your foundery.
So, important side story.
But yeah, there is no one main quest, and you won't be guided through in a set order.
I am about as lost a a poor boy dropped off in The Hamptons.
You just kinda stumble across quests as you explore and do them in the order you like. Anything too important order wise will have prerequisites to help make sure you have the needed info.
All in all, it's maybe a few hours to do all the major quests anyways.
One of the earliest things that DE Steve mentioned was that you can do things out of order. You can wander away from the main quests, go collect interesting items and maybe find that those items are useful for the mission you’re on (I think the example was a golden apple or something)
Some fables have prerequisites but for for the most part you just kind of…find them along the way.
A few things have prerequisites (like Verminia must be found to start the Waste Bear as she is a focal character there)
But for the most part, the story is very freeform

Hey new to the game! Question! When I find a new location and text appears on screen, does it suppose to remain in gibberish or is it supposed to eventually translate into English? Coz if the former i think I've encountered a bug.
Also my sparrow keeps getting stuck on geometry when indoors.

you need to find motes around the area, they look like gold clouds
when the area name shows, the number of soots with eyes that appears above the name shows the number of motes you can collect around the area
if you see them use spectral sight + light attack to collect them
I wish I could click on the motes that appear in my journal sometimes and make them squeak...
Fun fact, you can click them... just not necessarily make them squeak

30 is not max btw (if you’re coming from Warframe). My Magick is at 32 so Weapon Art trees will likely get massively expanded or have some form of “prestige” for increased stats as we get deeper into Cogah or Cogah+ (not an actual thing but conceptually).
Every Art can unlock everything in the tree atm in game. Hope this helps! ❤️

The three I know of that drop thrice are Ruthos, Thrice-Bound, and Mendiking.
