You have 50 spirit and 5 pips, so that's 50 x 2.5 = 125
so you have an extra 172 damage missing, I believe you must have some grace scaling going on as well since the cap is 543 not 567

Yes you were, purity's attunement cap is base x 1.5 = 102 damage.
You had 68 + 102 + 54 + (68 + 102) = 394, which is the damage cap and that's the damage you dealt

You were at the attunement cap because even if you increased your virtues further, your attunement bonus (102 damage) would not have gone higher than 102. It was already at 1.5x purity's base damage of 68, which is the cap

So you've got the (i) next to Damage Caps which explains 'damage is capped by the attunement cap'
And then the one next to Charged Attack will explain 'the UI is wrong, here's the math and some data to back it up, also everything's in flux so feel free to kick the wiki team if anything needs a nudge'

It is imo yeah, if you have a well-attuned greatsword and especially with attack speed totem, activating treefell and repeatedly doing charged heavies just cleaves through foes

i got tech that could theoretically let me have 100% uptime on treefell in combat without running out of rune charges
Tbh if Treefell didn't have a duration at all and was just one hit it would still have use cases from the fast charge and immense range.
And the armor pen giving it a sizeable damage boost anyway.
At the very least it does not need to refresh at all.
But they're still getting a hang of runes so this is all early version stuff. We're even getting something big in P15.

So I did a little testing, using the same mace just with swapping out the runes, I can confirm treefell is INCREDIBLE at taking out groups of enemies, however when it comes to bosses it falls really really short of everflame, recorded a little video you'll have to ignore the audio of my partner in the second clip but uh lol @finite stone @smoky crater

A rune specialized in hitting like 8 guys at once is weaker than a rune that can usually only hit 1 very hard.

I was going to throw one up if the rest of the system being added in P15 didn't fix it, given that it's a very obvious thing to have. Moonsteel not showing up in inventory even when the item is clicked is pretty obviously unintentional, and I don't see them not addressing how hard it is to tell maces apart when you literally have a kajillion of them sitting in 20+ rows of your inventory.

Part of the weirdness of getting such a narrow preview, idk what is and isn't good feedback.
I don't know for sure, but I have heard some weapons, namely important ones, will remain fragment-crafted, and that the new system isn't meant to cover all weapons.
Could be that whatever upgrade system Tuvalkane gets can just be applied to whatever you have, including one-off weapons, and thus they can climb to the top that way.
In other words.... Any weapon not apart of said system will be forgotten in a week
We just don't know cus we have no concrete info to work with.
... Ngl I kind of want, all weapons to have Fragment versions and drop versions that way if someone gets super unlocking in getting a weapon they are after they can always craft a default version of it
And any weapon you have crafted or own, will also be apart of possible loot drop tables
That way ANY and all weapons can have a Default + RNG drop and chance of a shiny Variant dropping thus giving a massive influx of collector content
(Mainly wanting to get all the founder weapons as shinies etc that way when the weapon trading system gets added there would be an active market for them etc)

so I just realized Royal Tines (and other dual daggers) effectively do twice as much damage as what the equipment values say... since the damage is per hit and they hit twice with each attack
That’s why their damage is lower
What’s nutty to me is rn the mace is doing the same thing on a heavy attack which absolutely tears through stuff
which is why I want a better mace...
Idk if they use motion values, I assume they do since sprinting attacks do different damage but they could easily fix it with those
but one nice thing is that attacking twice as fast with smaller hits also makes it easier to get smites that actually give charges...

Unfortunately we don’t know much about what’s going on under the hood so there’s a lot of trial and error
But yeah as things are dual blades are preseeetty busted for smite build up speed, a couple things defo need tweaking for balance and I think they’re gunna be doing more of that for p15
I'm not complaining since dual blades are my favorite weapons in the game

I think I found the problem with Royal Tines... the sneak attack deals damage based on the attack value on the equipment
so Witan seems to be hitting much harder there
now I made a feedback suggestion... since it's really terrible that dual daggers do half as much stealth finisher damage as regular daggers, especially with The Flitsmoke being in the game
You guys have any idea how to complete the "Grand Fable" tutorial quest that requires you to wield a rune in battle when the act of earning said rune leveled your weapons up so much that you're 1-3 shotting everything you can find?
Punch your enemies until they cough up some charges? Run along until you find some level 30+ enemies? Remove all totems giving more damage or armor pen, an only use ones giving smite chance? Build Garren Rood and build charge without smites? Build some dual blades and use them to build smite?
Note: most of those ideas are way, WAY more of a bother than simply fighting enemies until you happen to get a smite you can use

As far as I can tell, I'm locked out of getting a blacksmith to get any other weapon until I finish this tutorial quest - so, I'm stuck with a magic staff.
As for punching enemies, I literally kicked one of those staghelm greatsword guys to death without a single charge -_-
Of these, the only thing I haven't spent literal hours trying to complete for an early game tutorial quest is spending money to buy and try Garren Rood... Kinda broken quest when starting as Oscelda.

It is for now yes! The Founder's packs also contain a bunch alongside their other content. Though DE mentioned there may be ways to earn a few threads in-game in the future
If youre planning on just buying threads, maybe have a look at a wyld pact! They give threads too and you get way more bang for your buck

you'll get an extra 30 points to spend in that pact. Normal and Wyld pacts share the same skill tree :)

Yeah. So the 30 points you have from the Wyld Sirin pact, if you equip the regular Sirin pact you will have the same points still and gain more as you level with that. Leading you to have 60 points to spend when you max both pacts
you also get more mastery rank for it too

how much content is there in the game atm?
a fair amount, and if youre someone that enjoys the grinds to maxxing stuff out and hitting endgame content theres plennnnty of hours to sink into it

not exactly
there is a cogah hard mode, but all that does is nerf you and beefs up the mobs + some bosses have unique drops
as of right now for what end game looks like it is kinda just farming hardmode for certain items, levelling mastery rank, minmaxing stuff, experimenting with builds
mhm i see...so its probably still a long way off from 1.0 release
but if thats something you enjoy in games then there is definitely a lot of hours to be put in.
for a game in pre-alpha there is a lot more than I expected to be honest
there is still a ton of stuff to be added and we have no idea exactly how much content is actually ready to be put into the game already that is being held until 1.0
im just not really sure what to do in the game. i think i followed the bird for some missions and the combat felt alright with the envoy i have
It's roughly 10-15hrs of main story and exploration, then something like 200-400hrs of 'endgame' (ie just hunting down all the loot and ranking everything to max). I'm on 432hrs so far, but I've seen some with 900! 
the way I went about it was:
- Finish all quests that I could find
- Find a build that I like
- Farm gear and sets
- Farm levels
- Farm faction standing
- Farm (what is currently) endgame content for exclusive hardmode drops
also i doubt there will be a clear line of when the game hits ' 1.0 ', warframe never really had that iirc, they just keep making more content

Haha yes, very different gameplay to warframe but similar in terms of its main content / grind content balance
maxxing mastery rank is a big one too as afaik each envoy rank gives you +1 virtue from what I read on the wiki so if youre a player that aims to maximise everything then you'll have no issue finding stuff to do

No, it updates retroactively since Soulframe keeps track anyway - it's just that Soulframe doesn't display it to the player yet

yeah there's a lot of QOL in little genius that comes FROM data the game tracks just doesn't display
the first time i played you had to collect some motes for some things. never saw them again
until there are literally no more. it doesnt take too long in the grand scheme of things but you unlock a lot if in-game features
can't really blame them since game is in alpha basically so QOL isn't something I think they're too bothered about while so many systems are changing, if a player made solution works for that sort of thing then ggs
i did one boss fight last time i played tho
that was really cool even tho the ending felt unfinished
one thing that's weird is they are seemingly implementing trading before clans
with the motes, theyre on a respawn timer but if you relogg and go to the location a new mote will be there instantly. I think it is a bit silly that one of the first quests is to collect 5 motes and if you do it without cheesing it with relogging it would be 5hrs playtime to complete the quest that gates further quests that unlock stuff
there's a decent amount of content in the game, but eventually it does get quite grindy, I think that's kinda what game they're going for though
i gotta say it runs really good on linux too. is it the same engine as warframe?

yeah thats the core gameplay loop. at the end of the day thats all that WF is as well. The only difference is that WF has been out for so long that there is a ridiculous amount of content to switch between
you need to get through some of orlick's questline, I forget specifically how far through, and then they start spawning at locations

so because the game is an alpha still, systems are CONSTANTLY changing and being revamped, meaning making proper tutorials for them isn't really something they can focus on, that DOES mean a lot of the game is trial and error unfortunately, but it's kinda par for the course of what state the game is in since it's an alpha ^^

LG can get its data from the wiki team so that's great, but the actual software development, just one guy doing insane work
I've done dev work in the past on several projects, and it depends on the kind of software they're developing, sometimes it's pretty easy to swap things around for different OS or devices, sometimes it's a pain in the ass, if it's one dude working on it I'm not surprised he cba with the effort and only wants to focus on the majority of users

went to audio settings in windows turned off audio dont allow and then back to allow,now sound works ingame

Honestly, I found the game very boring. The style feels too plain and nothing like Warframe. I’m sure it has its audience, but I don’t think people who liked Warframe would enjoy it. Other than that, the visual scenery is nice and the combat was very plain as well.
warframe player for over 10 years and I am in love with this game

yeah I can kinda see it, but I'd compare it more to something like the witcher honestly or assassins creed combat, since you can animation cancel nearly every attack to block, there's no stamina, and a few other things missing from a soulslike, they've done well to make the weapons feel like they have momentum though and make the combat feel chunky and smooth

Crafted various different elixirs & palettes and she's still at 1, with not progress.

Bestitching doesn't increase bond (afaik?) but your first time brewing each new elixir/palette should've done it! However, the UI has been buggy since P14 - sometimes it shows your MR instead of the Bond Rank, maybe it's doing that or some similar display bug
the only thing that will increase rep with her is crafting the colour palettes. General potion craft does not. Neither bestitching.

at one palette per faction.. one to start, and one for the successfully letting verminia ||run away 😂|| that would make 5? (not including the 4 from the various founders)
as far as i remember it was 1/2 level per palette.. so 2.5 should be current bond max?
pretty sure the bond just doesn't go past 2 at all

multiple ways, some are available through factions, and some through quests
you can buy the 3 starter pacts + 3 special pacts from factions. Each faction has all starter and their own special pact (so you gotta max the 3 factions to get all 3 special pacts). There is 3 you get from the main story quests and 1 from a open world quest. Thats all of what i know so far xD

stats wise, no, visually your pact arm is a little different, and the starter pacts and wyld pacts (founder) share a skill tree so if you level both up you get double points for that skill tree
Founders are versions of the starter pacts. They are functionally identical, but levelling both the Wyld and Base versions gives 60 points total to upgrade with instead of 30.

it started off at 100 per, but the requirement was a bit less
Pardon my ludicrously late response: It took a dozen hours or so to actually get a rune that would fit on any of my gear - in the end requiring outside assistance. In that time, the levels gained in using all that gear has made the damage too high to actually trigger the rune in combat against the enemies available.

If you go to the tree near one of the sieges, you can do pay respects t2 and you have to open 3 coffins and each have a chance for moranite and quartz

The only weapon I like the throw function on is short blade and I'm usually mouse and keys if I'm using a load out with one
Longblade throw isn't bad, and polearm throw is very good.

Heavy throw wind up and release feels so sluggish. Kinda same for long blade

After getting used to off hand short blade throw, it was all I did for a while lol
Theoretically I would be fine against a boss that wants to force you into throw mechanics with a longblade, I'd just need to time them a little better.
If such a thing existed and I was using a Heavy wep, I'd just change weapons.
It's the only grip type where I'd just 'nah, I'm good'.
Shields also have a good throw, now that I remember that they exist.
But yeah, Shortblade, Polearm, Shield, all good. Longblade, serviceable.

With longblade it still charges fast enough that it isn't worse than just walking up to an archer and stabbing them.
Heavy is just a bit too slow to not be outdone by other options.

I think rapiers may throw a lil faster? Single shortblades charge slightly faster than dual blades after all.

As with all other runes, you first have to get charges for it (either via smites or Rood's passive). You then activate your spirit sight and make a heavy attack (charged to full), which should do the trick @devout slate

There should be a keybinding you can check, but as far as I'm aware the default one is to activate spirit sight and click the attack key while looking at an enemy primed for smiting
I. e. an enemy shining red, blue or green
You might have seen it before, it can happen upon hitting an enemy (it depends on your weapon's smite chance)

Did you happen to catch how many spawned on the approach UI? If it was only 1, then you now need to reset the history motes to spawn new ones
You reset them by either
- Waiting a full day/night cycle
- Relogging into Soulframe
- Joining another player's game
- Entering and exiting a Dungeon

I need to do the bromius dual daggers soon. I've been focused on leveling a bunch of Courage gear so I haven't touched any daggers in a long time.
If you do, try putting on the spectre strike damage totem. It is surprisingly much stronger than indicated

Apparently dual dagger throw dmg is pretty much the same at damage cap, so both are viable

Single daggers win in finishers though by far
They also throw faster.
And have way better damage in melee.
And are kind of just better in every way.
Dual blades getting shafted by the flat DR and a meh combo.
They do attack faster and when armor is low deal more damage per second, which you can get to by everflame/mora/bromius
Daggers attack fast enough to achieve similar boosts, and also have less need of an external propup from a specific setup.
It's a case of being slightly ahead in very specific setups at the cost of being substantially behind in all others.

That's a separate and unrelated bug, dw - sometimes T stops opening chat and you have to relog
Reloging is your best bet, should transport you to the nearest spawner when you come back.

Okay yeah with attack speed on it's barely dif lol, but I definitely notice it as someone who runs on pure kinesthetic memory. The handfeel is different enough to notice, even if it takes some staring to see the charge rate dif.
Unless they just sped up dual blades cus I know for certain there was a dif a while ago, and I feel like I can still see one there.

Very few things do magick damage to begin with
I mean, anything that looks more than physical, outside of mines before now, did at least to some degree.
Logic must have been because of shrapnel being physical.
When enemies zap up their sword, part magick.
When knights light up with fire or zap up with lightning, part magick.
Archers firing the boom shot? Magick.
Magick damage may be more common than you think.
The general rule is that unless it looks like you're just being beat with traumatic force, it's probably at least part magick.
Yeah most Elite Sinecure buff their weapons with magic and the Voltaic animation during the buff ALSO does damage when you’re close enough.
Anytime you see someone buff up, be it a basic elite or a knight, either mace lady or skull guy, it makes them do partial magick.
Even on just physical attacks.
Thus far, as I said, it's pretty intuitive.
If it's not just you being beaten or stabbed, it's probably at least part magick.
If it glows, crackles, or is on fire, magick.
Nothing scarier than 5-6 high level Halberdiers with buffed weapons gunning for you 😅

Why cant we get a true tank class. Theren feels like a dps class if anything. And its the only taunt as far as I am aware. We need another pact with a good self heal, defense oriented abilities and a taunt.

Most players can build to be tanky without using that pact. The game difficulty doesnt demand it as of now. I anticipate on launch, if you want to retain players you need hard content that require several players. So having a pact that specializes in defense would be nice. The healing depends on kills. I suggest it should be a self heal based on missing health instead (will allow for healing when fighting a raid boss)
Bromius defense doesn't scale with courage which doesnt make sense. And no taunt either.

I have tanked in several MMOs. This game doesnt have a clear tank pact.
My feedback here for what defines a tank are the following:

High defense. Enough to survive blows that would be fatal to non tanks (primarily via armour ability and high base health)

Self heal. Defense means nothing if you cannot regenerate. Life steal works, but damage shouldn't be the main tank focus, so this is not ideal. Heal on kill is even worse than lifesteal as your job is to support and keep damage off your team. The self heal should be in the form of health based regeneration or a burst heal. This means the tank can heal while focusing on defense. Can tie healing to block or parry if needed.

Crowd control. Where the dps excel at doing damage, the tank should excel at CC. Can be in many forms depending on what tank type you prefer. Big debuffs. Big stuns. Big knockdowns. Etc. Should be able to quickly peel enemies off teammates. Should augment a dps teammates damage.

Taunt. Enough said. Aggro defines the tank.
TLDR: Would be nice to have a tank pact. The current pacts do not perform the tank role adequately. If the game wishes to promote group play, then specialization is needed. Tetheren performs a dps role better than a tank role. For balance I suggest making a new pact for tanks instead of nerfing a pact loved by many.

This would mostly be because those tools are split across pacts. Taunt is the domain of Tethren. Defense boosting is Bromius. Self heal is Oscelda.

And even has some damage buffs to boot
Basically just no crowd control. But that can be fixed by using tree fell with a greatsword
Plus, giving it CC is kinda just overkill. It already has an AoE taunt.

Also builds are a bit too free form here to have such a setled role as tank if you ask me

The self heal is kill based. Wouldn't it make sense for your tank to be able to heal when fighting a boss? Or high level enemies that may not go down faster than you can reasonably heal?
If the goal is to spread out the tank features thats 100% ok and maybe having a pure tank spec is against the goals of the game. Just different POV

Did your quest chain split after the first objective?
It does that fairly often for whatever reason

If a quest chain involves two paths, they should always split right after the first, not on the second objective.

Yeah, the game is less about a dedicated "class" and more about toolkits. Courage is meant to be a "warrior" setup, spirit is "mage", and grace is "rogue", but you can do any of those "classes" with any pacts.
I think the length of bossfights isnt as long as you are expecting

If it splits after the first objective or joins before the last, it's bugged and cannot be finished.

The bear pact can proably cover all of those points but number 4. Although dedicated tanks doesnt usually need self-heal since that would be the healers job

Honestly i feel the bisulcam votive might be one of the saddest and most unrewarding objectives

yup. The armor stealing and the 3 makes you all amoured up. And perk is you make the enemies more squishi the more you hit them

depends on the armour set you are wearing.
Courage gives access to the most health, and some of the best armour has high Courgae reqs
The Courage ability is the Rump Thump, which scales partially off how much armour you have

The 3 is a Armour Buff that scales with grace
Personally im pretty much using a full grace build. But im face tanking lvl 30-40 enemies without any trouble so far. Havent tried it on Cogah yet though
High Courage reqs? The best sets right now are Orengall, Pensive, and Mendicant, and only one of those does.
Unfortunately Cogah tends to rely more on preventing damage in the long run. It just eventually outscales any mitigation.
And the Courage set falls behind, as does Pensive on a Courage build, tying with Mendicant.
Arbearer is also very good for a dedicated Courage build.
So you need to build high grace to get the high armour? Won't that decrease the max health you get from not having courage?
It still ties with Mendi at about 20 points behind what the other armors are capable of.
Pensive with Spirit and Orengall with Grace both hit about 135 without totems.
Depends. Do you care about the armour buff ability? Because yeah that'd be the tradeoff.
Bromius, Mendi, and Pensive on a Courage build are left with about 115.

TBH, it feels like they should just give the Courage scaling pips a bonus on armour like the Grace pips do on weapons.
I think the weapon scaling should just be even.
Grace shouldn't be higher than the other two.
For some reason only the helmet gives more armor than mestre's, despite all the pieces having the same scaling
Spirit doesn't need to be the odd one out either.
Grace doesnt by itself scale with armor. The bear pact armor buff just scales with grace so its a trade off. For that pact Curage buffs the damage of its damage ability, while Spirit buffs the duration of the crowd control and spirit buffs the armor buff.
It's already punished enough via HP.

Honestly the HP penalty is a bit much right now, Spirit easily enters one-shot ranges and that's a bit oof even with CD reduction in this game.
I can end most encounters with one round of casts, if that.
Moar casts isn't as much of an advantage as it may appear.

Courage gets a tiny bonus to armour, Grace to weapon scaling, and spirit a teeny bonus to all ability efficacy
At least with grace giving so much damage
TBH that's less of a pips thing and more of a "multiplier is too weighted" thing for one of grace's other bonuses
The crit multi still needs to be reigned the hell in.
But I'd be fine with weapon scaling pips keeping their higher scaling if Courage had better armor scaling.
Would also mean you have a reason to lean courage in hybrid builds.
Pensieve set might get you going more Courage than Grace if you feel squishy

Grace also seems to have more downsides though. Like the finisher bonus doesnt work against specific enemies and the headshot bonus seems kinda useless if you are melee

Will say, as much as we agree they needed to go...we miss the shield and polearm forced knockdowns sometimes.
Maybe it could come back as an ability someday
well pretty much any humanoid enemies. The non-humanoid i still havent figured out how to do finishers on.
Like as a bolas or smth on a pact.
