I'm trying to complete Bastions of Rebellion - I've already been in Alca and Kith prior to update so I put on the Rose Bodkin and went into the Rose Enclave but it isn't marking it as complete? If anyone else has this happen or knows what I need to do let me know, please.

pact passives work in the mestra fight? i didnt notice it before but i did one with duelo and i could trigger the dodge passive

If you track the quest, it should tell you. If it's Dewspore and Soulsbane, I believe it is 4 and 6
so what do the actual colors of joineries do now? like is there any difference between putting a sapphene verite or sapphene quicksilver on my bow?

if you perfect dodge with the new class it leaves a clone but when it does that my character cant attack do other people have this problem aswell or is just my controller?

i really like it but it can be a little finicky with the dodges. and my clone becomes target-lockable when i'm not the host and it makes the auto-lock on a bad time

What am I missing about the abilities? The spirit one makes no sense to me. The courage (flintlock) is just gimmicky. But the grace one seems like it might add a lot of damage once it's fully upgraded (I'm only like level 16, I think)

Since they introduced bleed with the pact, i think they should let Flintlock apply bleed on hit

Flintlock is mainly for aura farming and scaring your opponent by summoning a gun to a blade fight

First boss drops a key, second boss drops a key, then 3 boss fight

First two should drop a key each and retreat before dying

The first two are not supposed to die before the final encounter
I only had 1 boss at the top where the lantern and torch is

I did notice a lack of enemies, so I'm gonna take a run through and see if I can spot more

I went around the whole place, some enemies respawned (no bosses) went back up to the top, found these 2 just sitting here stunned.

Mix is good. There’s not really a wrong way to play unless you’re cheating/exploiting.
I’m the explorer type and the world seems to be good for that, even if I get ganked by some high level mob lol
Would recommend exploring as much as you can between quests, stats come account level and currently a good chunk of account level comes from exploring
I am having trouble though with factions, I’m in the spirit one but no matter how many of the animals I have saved or find the world tress I have not gotten any faction points for it
You don't advance them that way
You need to take the task from the world tree first
Upon completion of the task you're given points towards the faction

In Cogah bosses have different runes.
Get Verminia to bond lvl 2 and she will give you the recipe (craft stuff from her).

As I said, you need to craft stuff, note that only unique crafts count, crafting the same thing over and over will not (same for Tuvalkane).
For me they spawned at night, might want to try to relog.

every pip on your weapon lowers the virtue number you need to reach the weapon dmg cap

every weapon got its dmg cap. so no matter how much virtue points you got the dmg wont go higher

Alright but my original question was if going above 5 changes anything, for example if a weapon has 3 courage pips, does applying a 3x blessing make a difference compared to a 2x blessing since they're both at least 5 courage pips giving it the glow icon

Anybody else notice that damage calculations is off by 5? Patch note said they baked an additional +25 at lvl 30, on top of the +24 from pre P14. But now you do the calculation and it's always missing 5?
and then i know how much virtue points i can use somewhere else

essentially you keep the bonus dmg from joineries but lost all the extra buffs

Oh I agree, I think the virtue requirements are outdated already. If they lowered them to make it easier to build how you want, then what's even the point of having them in the first place, just don't have them

remove the /X requirement, make the bonus damage dependant on virtue investment, and entice players to use joineries to lower that requirement

Yes, dropped the whole Mestra armor set within a few days, 10-20 duels
The (X) is the bonus damage from attunement, the following number is the total damage ; so 110-68=42 is your weapon damage at this level

Levelling account level comes from exploration and levelling gear, tho currently it is mostly exploration
Your stat points are distributed by your equipped prism, also they arent a permanent spend, it's more like a pool of points that your prism just spreads around
and you cant "kill" the dude with the flaming sword
So how do I get the green to wear the armor? I’ve grinded like 5 things from 0-30 and haven’t noticed anything

Fenn Jotar is an ancestor of yours, you aren't meant to kill him. If you soul pull him, he'll give you his power for a bit

So, just logged in after some time. And have a question:
Is playing a non-caster just overall better?
Logged in to see there was a ship event next to me and went to do it. After managing to get through 5-6 waves of enemies, Nimrod spawned in. But had to leave and just log out due to the infinitely spawning 2 adds who kept me unable to use my healing pool, and I just couldn't make headway with the boss due it to jumping out of crows, him or adds poking me as I cast to null my abilities, etc. Because he self healed.
Frankly, it feels super slow, clunky, and really just not fun (at least from my perspective in coming back after a long while).
So wondering if bows, or melee just works/feels better?

The animals are totems. Runes you get from the Agari or by doing Sieges. Once you have a rune place it in the center on a matching weapon type

Can anyone explain to me what siege ratings are even based on? I've never gotten anything other than a C, no matter how fast I cleared, how often I died or didn't die or anything else, but other people seem to be getting S ranks consistently with no issue

Supposedly, number of enemies left alive and number of deaths lower the rating. I don't think time matters. Kill everything and dont die and you shouldn't ever get anything but S
you need to kill every mob too
I'm never quite sure what the radius of the enemies are, so I always clear the surroundings too before going into the fort
adding the ability to highlight unaware enemies is huge for clearing forts

has anyone else had allot of trouble with the || Mestra fight?||
A lot of people have had trouble with this fight. But, at MR 17/18 with 35+ physical defense and 30+ Courage I could literally just light attack endlessly and win the fight, no mechanics involved, so most seem to be attempting the fight while under levelled and under geared.
If you're struggling and don't want to learn melee combat really well, I'd suggest just using Arbearer's and going full Courage. Can even pop a Courage elixir for a little more edge if needed.
(While not confirmed because we don't have enough UI information to see it, try putting physical armor totems on your weapons, as well.)
She also get stuck very easily on the stair bannister if you try to kite her into it. The hanging lanterns can also be jumped to. Both ways makes her helpless against thrown attacks.
ok, yes i am leveled porperly ive been playing since preludes 11 and i found a way to fight it, but honestly the fact that you have to switch pacts and do things with courage makes it feel kinda pointless... why even play other classes smh

Because Soulframe isn't designed as a "pick a class" game. The whole setup lets you swap between "classes" seamlessly at the click of a button. I have prebuilt Melee, Magick and Range setups, as well as a couple random fun ones. And because the new siege is so heavily magick focused, I also now have a melee setup designed to survive that with ease.
You just need to utilize the functions of the game efficiently.
I'm MR 8 and had a full grace build and finished the fight by simply parrying and attacking when there's an opening and I healed most of the damage I took from missing up the parry timing by hitting back ... the fight isn't that hard (no mechanics involved) and she doesn't even deal that much damage. you just need to be either tanky to ignore everything and spam light attacks or have a basic understanding of how melee combat works in this game
Physical armor plays the biggest role. If you don't have much, you're gonna die
if you parry or block, this isn't an issue .. you need somewhat decent stability for the long combo or the pistol shot so you don't knocked down but again, I forget 99% of the time there's even a dodge button in this game, so what do I know
Yeah, but a lot of people haven't played melee since they started, so learning a whole new combat system while trying to fight a boss is...too much for them haha. I would argue that they just need to learn how to fight melee but, they don't want that answer.

if I had to guess ... isn't the fact that your arcanics are disabled and they give you a melee weapon instead of your equipped weapon means that this fight is intended to be a test for your melee combat and skills?

courage only effects bromiuses range on rump thump, spirits contribution to the spirit ability has a cap. so all thats left is grace you can pump to high heaven

It's bugged. Some people get S no matter what, some people get C no matter what.
Pact does matter for that fight. Even at MR 17, you can go in with a build that gets you 2-3 shotted without healing.
does being low level in a pact reduce your hp?
Just in the fact the skilltree can give you more virtues which feed into health but that is the same on all pacts
DE made the mistake of allowing your current pact passive to work in that fight, which is why some people are getting a lot of health back just light attacking

I agree .. fencing has always been about parrying not dodging but I understand the idea from a design perspective .. if the pact didn't encourage perfect dodge, no one will ever bother using it or its spectre strike (horrible attack, all my homies hate spectre strike)

buff its damage or make its stagger so high that it opens finishers for all the normal mobs .. that way you can justify it for grace finisher builds

Well, before you were starting a boss fight with 0 rune effect and be forced to get in his way to proc smite and trigger rune. Now you can choose to start a boss fight with 4 runes charges doing 4x the damage of old runes and two shot any boss. You are just choosing not to.

So, you are leveling items in the highest level zone, don't bother attune it, and won't use charges to make it easier ? bruh, why do you do that to yourselves and blame the game. I have been leveling the three last weapons and duelo in NE, and I've never experienced such a tough non-elite guard-happy enemy that made me wish the change to charged heavy attack was reverted. You can still attack them (or not, because they aren't a threat), you can still stagger them, you can still kick them, go around, use spells, whatever; or even kill them with a single ultra-buffed charged heavy attack from the so many smites that procc right and left at all times.

Im not struggling to kill anything. You're going out of you way to strawman an argument. The whole point of this initally, was that we should be able to choose WHEN to use a rune, without having to disrupt my playstyle for maximum efficiency. If I want to do a charged headshot on the archer that will kill it with out using a rune and then charged headshot the shield after to also one shot it, I should be allowed to do that without having to go out of my way to kill the shield first

You do realize that both limiting rune activation by making it charged based and tying it to charged heavy attacks was made deliberately to stop players from having permanent rune effects and using charged-heavy-attacks as their only attack in their arsenal (as to wholly ignore armor and block mechanics) as a instant win button against all foes, from trashes to bosses ?
With the change to rune power making it a great increase of damage, it was evident to make it work solely on your highest damaging attack ; while in the process killing two birds with one stone by preventing players from using this attack all the time if they'd rather keep charges for a more difficult encounter later on, hence still giving players agency ; those changes solved the total omnipresence of both charged-heavy-attacks and rune effect as the only tools needed to clear any content in the game.

Optimal way, for example, a bow user to take out an encampment would be to charged snipe the archers without using a rune and then use rune charges to finish off any remaining heavies. Most attacks would be charged. The only difference would be choosing WHEN and WHO to use the runes on.
But since we can't choose NOT to use a rune, the optimal way now is to charge into the encampment, charge attack the heavies FIRST with the rune charges and then finish off the archers, also with charged attacks. What exactly is DE changing with that gameplay other than making it more suboptimal?
If they want people to stop spaming heavy attacks just put stamina bar and that's it, but DE is scared that the Warframe brainwashed people will get mad because they can't spam atacks like crazy

Its not doing anything other than changing the kill order, you can try to make it sound like a sublime change to gameplay balance, but nothing effectively changes.

Arguing over this is pointless anyway since the system is unlikely to go unchanged. If DE actually want to change the gameplay that much then they can go back to the old idol charge up system
Personally I like the new charge system for Runes, I think there are some pain points, activation being the major one. Before the system released I also thought just not using a charged heavy would be an easy solution to the worries but in practise it does make me use less of my options in combat now.
I think changing the activation to a different key/key combo would solve that pretty easily.
I've also found myself stocking up on charges more than using them actively through combat, which seems counter to the intended design
I like the new system too, much more balanced and reduces the silly shenanigans like flitsmoke chaining, but the activation is most of the issue for me.
Also, stuff like herdheart needs to get changed again, but I doubt any of the passives were finalized anyway.
Most passives aren't working at the moment so I'm curious how Healheart will interact with the new system, I think it could be a decent template to give all Pacts a way to gain Rune charges so we're not as reliant on Smite builds
Giving each Pact a passive that gives you Rune power in ways tied to that Pact's theme seems fun, I also think maybe charges should decay to 1 when not in combat because right now it's a little too easy to just bank 4 big hits and instantly kill bosses

Feet glow briefly on a perfect dodge. It's easy to miss and should probably be changed. Bleeding visual effects would be good too.

With active rune on bow, it would add its’ own hail of arrows to a hail of arrows (unless using avex) and melt any enemies health, cogah or not
Still sucks that now stacking Tethren’s 1 with any sword rune requires using a charged heavy attack

In regards to weapon attunement. My understanding is that it can have 1-3 moons for example. But my Erstroot has a BIG moon. What does that mean? Anybody know this?
The golden pip is a new addition, happens when you reach 5 scaling in a Virtue

Thrice Blessed Joineries can drop from high level Agari and the various world bosses like the Vadagar Stag and Vadagar Bear, you can't really target farm specific ones but doing lots of boss fights is the best way
You can also buy them from the various Enclave stores, for Blessed by Saphene you'll want to chat to the Silent Rose

While the question is totally worth asking but no one do know if it's 5 or 5+ (6, 7...) when the pip are golden, it doesn't change much :
With 5 pips of a Virtue, let's say you are trying to cap the damage of a generic longsword, considering they have ~40 base damage generally, and considering every pip allows 1 point of Virtue to be converted for 0.5 damage bonus (0.8 damage bonus for innate Grace pips), up to only +150% of base damage (of level 0) ; even if it wasn't Grace pips you'd need only 24 Virtue points to cap the damage of this given weapon, which is reached instantly with extreme prism or get really close to with dual stats/strong focus on one stats prism and Pact's points/Talisman.
And that's only if you had 5 pips, while you often have more pips of other Virtues also being here and contributing to the damage bonus. And in the case of Grace weapons having no other Virtue pips, they get bonus damage from their innate pips.

I guess Thrice joineries are probably meant to be used on item with only 2 or less (or even none) pips of a given stats that you want to max ; and it's unclear if it's counted going beyond 5 ; but regardless, reaching 5 is in most of the case capping the damage bonus, even for hybrid builds.
Correct, regardless of what the patch note says, it's currently ONLY calculating up to 5 pips from one virtue.
So even if you can have 5+, until they patch, it doesn't do anything for you. And perhaps their intention is not to allow more than 5. We'll have to find out.
I would prefer that tbh, makes the UI more clear and is cleaner overall

It's also closer to how other games treat stat scaling, if we look at the pips and convert them to a letter system you see in other games you'd get 1 pip being D scaling and 5 being S scaling
But also, with a 5 cap, there's much better room for variety
Although, it does significantly lower the threshold for min maxing, which people love to do, so it's going to be a split voice. But already it's nice to be able to hybridize weapons.
Would be much easier to test things like this if they'd just show us the numbers. For the attribute scaling on abilities too.

My preference would be a cap on scaling but NO cap on damage, because right now you can get better scaling but still reach a weapon's cap without improving your scaling by just getting more stats
Make it give diminishing returns so you can't just make weapons broken
And as you get more envoy level, that would be easier to do.

To note, on your specific case of having a Navalha with 39 base damage and only 3 innate Grace pips, granting 0.8 damage per point of Virtue, you only need 41 Grace to cap its bonus damage, and that, without any added joinerie ; and that correspond to an extreme Grace prism, a good talisman, and some account level. So whatever is the joinerie you use ; Main or side Virtues are going to bring down the required Grace to cap it out
Sure, but that's not one shotting everything in the game, that's a very specific ability with limited charges interacting with more limited charges
That's using the game's tools to output big damage onto single targets, it's not going to trivialize a siege
I find it slightly disengenuous to point to a very specific build which results in Big Number and claiming you can one shot everything in the game after a few hours of play
Because you can, and I have been doing it on an alt account that has like 6 hours of play, half of that showing my brother around. I'm simply using it as an example of why multiplicative damage is our bane, not our friend, because it's easily exploitable.
And it's not the only example, as there are many other ways to achieve similar results with different grips and pacts
Also, to your point, you can literally complete most of the bosses and the first two sieges on a brand new account simply by using a bow (or even staff, just less powerful), and landing headshots from stealth. Why? Because of multiplicative dmg.

I mean, yeah playing the game well lets you complete the content, having watched a lot of people get into the game I really don't think there's a risk of too much powercreep currently
Not saying there aren't some balance issues but I do find the "It's becoming Warframe" worry a bit overblown, you can slaughter entire hallways with a button press in Warframe, there's no comparison imo
I also wonder if the literal island we are on is the warframe equivalent on starting out on Earth - before the higher level planets, before even steel path or sorties or ETA/EDA

I think the comparison is not that out of place because Warframe is about blowing up a lot of enemies, while Soulframe is about blowing up a few enemies ; so the amount of enemies killed in a button press is really game dependant/defining ; but we are still blowing up enemies in both ; with charged heavy attacks and runes, boss aren't lasting long enough to even use their AI and attack patterns to pose any threat ; which was a big issue in warframe and is starting to be one in soulframe ; forcing DE to start putting immunity phases again in bosses so they don't die too quickly (like the mages in the new siege or the wyrm going underground), which are just bandaids to powercreep
i still remember when i first play warframe, its like soulframe right now lol

Quicksilver only works on ranged weapons and Feybalt only works on magick weapons

P15 and the gear/drops rework, with pre-baked stats/bonuses I think will accomplish a lot of this (though it's going to be really messy at first.) But then joinery will be a proper augment, instead of what it is now which is just a...way to make Purity work on a Grace build, or Juniper work on a Courage build? XD
