Ok. So, I've just done some testing and there is a difference in unarmed/kicking between Orengall, rood, and other pacts. I tested this at Skelfies, which has a number of barrels and the re-login point is easy walking distance.
1: In all pacts except Orengall, unarmed hitting a barrel does 34 damage).
2: In all pacts except Rood and Orengall, kicking a barrel does 24 damage.
3: Kicking a barrel as Rood (headbutting it) does 27 damage.
4: Unarmed hitting a barrel with Orengall (claw) does 54 damage.
5: Kicking as Orengall (claw uppercut) does 39.

The "is Orengall/Rood sill different from other pacts punch/kick" has become a bit of a question every time things get reworked. The way to test is simple enough:
1: Go to the northeastern world tree.
2: Switch to the pact you wanna test this with, and equip at least one melee weapon (you'll have to disarm yourself to be able to punch).
3: Head east and a smidge south from there, and you're right at Skelfies.
4: Kill all the ode there.
5: Disarm your envoy If you're using a blade, just chuck it into the ground.
6: Walk around and punch all of the barrels and take note of how much damage your punches do to the barrels. Write it down.
7: Relog and repeat steps 3-6. Instead of punching all the barrels, kick them and take note of how much each kick is doing to barrels.
8: Repeat steps 2-7 for each of the pacts. This will also come in handy if any future pacts include unique punch and/or kick mechanics.

I could see perhaps some enemies being able to temporarily disarm the Envoy. Which, if they do that, you'll wanna have the Orengall pact so you can claw punch 'em.

The game isn't linear and doesn't do much hand-holding. As it's pre-alpha, there's not much in the way of tutorials if you don't pay attention to the ones that're there.

You could try relogging with cache optimize. IF that don't work, try relog with verify. Those usually fix issues with the game getting legit stuck.

Also, make sure you're not crouching while trying to go to nightfold. Crouching prevents being able to go there.

If you can still move and fight and such as normal but still can't return you may have found yourself a situational bug. I would double check your keybind just in case to make sure it didnt get changed or reset or something by accident

There's over a dozen. But be aware, without using premium currency, you can't change the style of your armor without changing the armor itself.

So if an enemy has 50 armor and your weapon deals 40 damage, you only will do 1 damage with a "basic" hit

if an enemy has 50 armor and you deal 60 damage, you will deal 10 damage (and the bar won't be greyed out)

Even though some enemies can have a greyed out bar because it's based on your "basic attack", you can often still do damage to them with heavy attacks, charged heavy attacks, or headshots

Ok, so in your character screen, you have on top left a PRISM

your character has a certain amount of VIRTUE POINTS that you don't allocate yourself, it's allocated according to your prism

the prism show by its picture if it's putting more point in the red, the green, or the blue

so red = courage (strength), green = spirit (intelligence), and blue = grace (agility)

your weapon has some little symbol on it that do correspond with those stats, 1, 2, or 3 "pips" of the color of it's type

so if you have a weapon that is mostly "blue" (grace), you want to have grace points so your weapon does more damage

What the heck is the grey healthbar thing that happens with some enemies, and how do I get rid of it? Its infuriating when a strong foe turns all but invulnerable every few seconds, and I've yet to figure out how to consistently dispel it

It can come from basic and dendrite chestes in the undercity. Early game, running low level undercity over and over would be your best bet. Don't go therough the exit. Just use the warp stone to warp back to the entrance room, go out the entrance, out the loding hall into the overworld, then turn around and go back in. Each time you enter a dungeon, it's proccedurally generated. So no 2 runs are exactly the same.

Similarly, going into a dungeion, then right back out after you're in the entrance room will reset many things in the overworld.

Sometimes those things bug and you need to relog for interact. You can also play your ocarina through the emote near them and it will accomplish the same thing. But iirc you just go into the cave to find Verminia

There's a rat you're supposed to follow and if it doesn't get to the cave because you missed one of its pause locations, I don't think Verminia spawns in the cave

Arguably it's Arbearer, because of higher stability. But King has higher magick defense. Somewhat depends on your build and which you find more valuable. If you're using GS or Polearm, I suggest Arbearer.

Moranite predominantly drops from Dendrit chests, the flower chests. There are quite a few that spawn around the starter region of the map. Otherwise, Glades and Undercity. Bosses also can drop it, but low chance due to huge loot tables

Arbearer is the best armor for courage dump. You can use Mendicant King's too, but the extra stagger resistance is better overall than the extra magic armor, especially if you want to use slow melee weapons
