Ranked high enough, you get 2 summoned wolves. Howl doubles your courage, heals ghost wolves, increases smite chance, and turns ode dogs and dogzillas into temporary allies. Feral makes Orengall show up and instakill enemies. Werewalker is as close to a mount as we have currently. Jacking up the spirit allows for quite some travel time as werwalker.

Yeh mote spawns are randomized, but you can just relog to force some to spawn or change their location if you can't find them

which can be hard to spot, despite being floating yellow lights... especially if they're in wooded areas, I once found a mote sitting inside a giant bush

Everyone will get XP and drops from their own faction - So if Host is Silent Rose and both teammates are Alca's Childs, the guests will get mission rewards and XP from Alca's

Basically you can't farm faction rank or rewards unless you as a player are pledged to them, but everyone does get rewards.

I just jumped in a couple days ago for the first time and so far I'm really enjoying most aspects of the gameplay, honestly the only thing that I am having a bit of trouble with is understanding the overall story or questlines when they are given. The writing for the quest as well as responses from NPCs and notes found everywhere are written in verse in a way that I am lost until I inevitably follow my bird. Overall I am enjoying pretty much everything else minus that aspect. Anyone else have any issues with that?

I just want to say that this game runs incredibly well! Both Warframe & Soulframe run without issue on my Surface Pro 11 Elite. Its an ARM64 system running the snapdragon processor and only 16GB ram. While I have to run with a little lower graphics settings it consistently hits 45-50 fps and I really can't tell a difference with the reduced graphics. The experience is just as immersive as being on my desktop! Well done!

Smite is Q + left click on kb + m on an enemy glowing red/green/blue

You're thinking of finishers which are different from smite.

There's also backstabs on unalerted enemies, or standing finishers on enemies who "run out of stamina" (The bar that fills up around the outside of their HP, and enemies will stand still)
I think staffs just do lower stability damage, so the standing finishers are less likely, but you're still able to do them.

I think they might be a little resistant to smite, and sometimes the spider boss' hitbox for smite is in the ground preventing smite from working, but other than that, it functions the same.

You might be confusing the rank up reward with the full store, when you rank up you can pick an item as a reward, those are usually just one piece of the armor, but if you go to "Where do I stand" you should be able to see the full offerings

It will keep you alive in the lower levels against whole camps, but that stops after a while because it's more of a HoT. Especially in Cogah you can get 1-shot as it scales up.

I haven't done Cogah yet, but in regular content it basically means if the enemy can't one-shot me they can't kill me when the flower is up (and standing in water makes it even more ridiculous as I've had 3 flowers up simultaneously)

that combined with the long duration on bestone gives a ridiculous amount of survivability (I started with Oscelde and had to basically relearn the game when I tried another pact)

Yeah, solo with lower levels it's probably pretty strong. Once you start getting 3 bombs, an electric arrow and a charging sinecule at you though, you still can die. It's strong for sure though. All the original pacts are very strong imo

What it sounds like is more OP is the regrowth or vernal? aspect that makes water recharge the heal even before it's cooldown is up etc.

Survivability is kind of Oscelda's thing. Tethren throws nukes at things. And Sirin likes to hit-and-run their targets.

I do enjoy Oscelda too, especially with a bow. Just Bestone and headshot, headshot, headshot... job done, heh.

I think my favorite pact to play so far has been Garren, though his kit is superficially very similar to Oscelda's just more offensively focused
