Yes, you need fragments/shards to craft everything in this game. As for pears, they sometimes drop from the banneret mini bosses at the end of of two or three star sparrow tales, the bosses in cogah also drop them.

In a cave I found some enemies with nothing on their lvl block, and they keep rising after death. These things alongside the white tree zombies too; I have no idea how to kill these and i dont believe im supposed to keep suicide running. I believe those are Mockeries. Once you down then, use your soul sight (hold Q by default) and you should see ghosts, pull smite them (hold Q and click left mouse button) to finish them off for real

as for why they have nothing on their level block, the game shows a dark health bar with an X when your weapon deals less damage than the enemy's armor with its primary / light attack

you can reforge weapons with Blessed joineries to make them scale with any virtue

This is a bug. Happens it seems after a boss fight sometimes when the felled boss overlay starts as you are interacting with something. It goes away when you interact with the next boss

I find it silly no one is going to go back there after launch or dig to find someone if they forgot their garden number

There should be one very very large garden with different instances so they can cap max players in it but the flowers planted are the same in all.

Hundreds to thousands of dungeon runs in p8 and p9, you can use the respawn stones to go back to the begining and re-gen a new dungeon.

Breaking boxes and barrels is also something i wish i knew about. And farm 100k+ dracs so you can buy out salesprouts on uncommon resources

I just beat the Waste Bear and finished the cutscene, woke up in my tent and then went back to the over world. There's an acorn on the ground next to the tree the bear was plopped against (same spot where you plant 2 seeds for him). When I pick it up...I can only walk around really slowly and can't do anything else with it (bird doesn't highlight anything either). The only way to put the acorn down is switching to a side arm. Am I missing something? What am I supposed to do with the acorn?

I'd say play with whichever you most vibe with, reforging will make it even better, and just enjoy

but if you're playing paragon, it definitely needs a blessed to get the tier 2 attunement

at rank 2 there's a potion named Curiadh's Breath, the ingredients for that might be easier to get

I don't think this dialog does it, but it would be the equivalent of picking "I could crate you up again...", and getting +1 courage virtue. Apparently picking a certain pup also boosts a corresponding virtue, so people would choose the pup that boosts the only stat that matters if they're trying to min-max.

picking the pup doesn't affect virtues, it's a different dialog from that quest that gives you the virtue point (when you're convincing Orengall you're trying to help her)

I just tested it again on a lone unalerted enemy, distance is pretty wonky. I activated it by continuing to back away a small distance until it came out.

So far it's fairly useless imo as the recovery leaves you a bit open.
