If you already are pledged to them, you already have their medallion

So you can enter the kith of kings enclave without the medallion too by waiting for night when something happens, if nothing happens, go into nightfold and back out.

But to get the medallion, you need to find fragments for it from dermak undercity dungeons chests, then from your current faction buy a sacred shimmer which you need to be rank 3 for.

The medallion just let's you interact with the leader of the faction, you can go in without it aswell

2. Mounts (Wolf, Moose, Bear, anything)
3. Updated UI (I like seeing stat numbers and some better idea of what my abilities do, like in Warframe)

Lotta other stuff, but that's really all I can think of at the moment. Maybe seeing equipment levels while playing the game, rather than needing to open Inventory or return to the pocket world to check 🤷

They spawn randomly as you're playing the game. They let out some weird distorted bird calls.
They're always surrounded by 3 hunters. For every bird catcher thing you break, their levels will increase (I think the cap is 50). Hunters drop certain equipment fragments at specific levels, whereas you can get skins for your bird buddy if you craft some bird seed

So for instance, if you already farmed 2k XP on rank 2 with Alca's children it will show up at 12k total. 5k from neutral rank + 5k from rank 1 + 2k in rank 2 = 12k.

Those are called enclaves!
You gain standing with them by doing their tales (they are marked on your compass and your map with your enclave symbol and 1-3 stars).
The standing you gain scales with tale tier and enemy level. So tier 3 tales in the north east - where enemies are among the highest - give the most standing

Yes you need to get to at least rank 3 with whatever enclave you have, buy a Sacred Shimmer and then craft either a Sproutfolk Seed (Alca's Children), a Rose's Bodkin (Silent Rose) or a Medallion of Mora (Kith of Kings) to be able to gain standing with other enclaves

Once you have the medallion of the faction you want to join, visit their enclave (their "hub") and talk to the leader. There will be an option to join them.

Note that you can only change enclave once a real life week

Rep is not broken and works correctly as far as I know.
There was a bug/oversight that had the Pacts cost more rep than you could hold, but this has been fixed.

Grind length is subjective, but some people were unhappy with the P12 changes to it, and has since been made a bit faster.

You need to pull smite to activate the rune, that's Spectral Sight + Primary Attack

You'll see an enemy glow with either Red, Green, Blue, which indicates a smite,

only % chance every hit to trigger the smite, depending on your weapon stt

ok, looks like replaying the fables lets me experience some of the new onboarding that's bee re-worked or added since I last played.
When I initially logged in it had me choose a pact right away with the optio to try it before commiting, but that was in the overworld and the tutorial just kinda left me after that.
Replaying the warsongs seems to be showing me the proper onboarding flow. I think they're need to improve how they handle returning players, especcially if they make massiveoverhauls to content old players went through already.

Not really, it takes two days of capping the rep, which you can do it in about an hour or two.
Slightly more problematic is getting the Pacts, that require an additional two days for the rep and another one for crafting.
But it is not really 5 times longer, it is more diluted between days.

Find the blacksmith, find bow fragments and mats (Juniper is quite easy to get if you look up how), then craft it.
You can do it directly after "Rise, Envoy" (the first tutorial), but you are guided to the blacksmith after "An Invitation" (Faction HQ Fable).

A not-uncommon bug. You can try hitting it to see if you can smite proc and vaporize it, but sometimes they go outright untargetable and even that won't work, in which case nothing to do but relog.
