Courage = strength
Spirit = duration
Grace = range

Pacts are warframes (i.e. tethren, sirin ocelda).

But some weapons (which are not tied to classes), will scale with courage, spirit, grace. Hope this helps abit

at the very beginning, picking between Courage/Spirit/Grace just decides your starting loadout.
in the actual gameplay, Courage, Spirit, Grace are virtues which affect health and a buncha other stuff you don't really need to worry about at all.
Tethren is the pact (class) you get for picking Courage. Spirit gives you Oscelda, Grace gives you Sirin.
all of those you can craft later on. so no matter what you pick, you're not locked to it.

If I care at all about casting Pact Abilities, do I just always run Courage builds? I feel like Grace is kinda dog, and Spirit is not super great either. Scaling is pretty unintuitive. Especially when the games tells you that you have a Class abilities based in each virtue but in the backend it's all "scales with Courage."

all weapons have a combat art tho that's required to do the "riposte" which is a special attack only done after a parry

kinda is. you can use multiple of the same totem on the same weapon. sometimes can be a very good thing too. but you can't use the same exact totem on multiple slots. it's 1 totem per slot

so i'd keep like... 2 or 3 spares

Reflect and Riposte work differently but only riposte gets the bonus damage from parry and only on exacutes

Reflects are harder to do but will stop all attacks from hitting you without you going in to riposte animation

To get a reflect to happen you need to be hit by 2 or more guys at once

Its kinda like forhonour where if you parry 1 guy you get a free punish but if you parry more than 1 you just push them back a little
