You need to get to rank 3 of your current faction, purchase a shimmer shard (I suggest purchasing 2) and craft the corresponding talisman for the other factions. Then you can go speak with the other faction reps and ask to join them. There is a cooldown of 1 IRL week between switching factions though.

Depends what your looking for. There are only a few quests with story type stuff currently. There are a bunch of weapons and pacts to craft and use though. They added the Cogah hard mode for bosses and stuff to farm new runes and items.

Could someone give me a brief explaination as to how medallions work?
I craft the medallion for factions, then I can talk to the faction rep.
Do I have to be wearing the faction medallion to see the tales for that faction and gain xp? Do I only see the faction tales of the medallion I'm wearing?
Can i still get faction xp while wearing another, non affiliated medallion?

If I may have some assistance, I think I may be hardlocked during the Brewer of Hues quest.

I was on the second fight with the Nimrod, when a second boss, the Vantage Stag, spawned and made the Nimrod disappear. Now I am at the part of the quest where I am supposed to fight him a third time with the Cloudquell, but Nimrod will not spawn. I tried logging out an back in, but this only just reset the quest to the beginning, but I still have Cloudquell, and the fae totem I am supposed to play the melody to open the entrance to the cave where Verminia is met shows no prompt to play the music.

The world state is currently stuck on this boss fight, and the boss music won't stop playing. It is very dark on Midrath isle and I am scared lol

In any case, non-yellows can be parried. some weapons get an upgrade that lets you parry yellows too. everything can be dodged, and the dodge itself gives you a small moment of invulnerability. Perfect timing gets you a perfect dodge, and some weapon styles get a Spectre Strike you can do afterwards for extra damage.

weapons have a certain smite chance on attack (or other stuff). When they hit a smite like this, the enemy will glow in a colour and you can soul mode+attack to do a pull smite, inflict a lot of damage, and get a buff to one of your virtues. Other effects can be added to this via totems and weapon arts.

any pact can work with any weapon, but the natural fit is a grace-based pact (so, literally just Sirin)

you only need 29 grace to hit the virtue cap, mind you, and we're in something of a courage meta right now

think about it like a critical chance. weapons have smite chance, when you crit, the enemy glow red/blue/green. if you enter the soul vision (hold Q by default) you then can left click aiming them, and you will take their soul dealing a ton of damage. if your red skill is on CD, you recover it if you smite some red soul, the same for the other colours and skills

of those, Garren is the most natural fit IMO because Bromius and Orengal both have aspects that want you to get close and personal
