The idea is you take turns hosting since boss cooldowns are player based, so you kill your boss, then the 2nd person's, then the 3d's, so you all use your individual cooldowns and get 3 shots at the loot

Well Odiac also scales with Spirit so that makes your Virtues easier to manage, unless you want to swap either Spurns to Spirit or Gath to Courage

But every boss will guarantee a weapon/armour frag, a mushroom, and most have a chance to drop a rune.

Well the joinery gives a flat 4% rn, it’s not really dependent on your virtues. So you could use it with any build. If you want more healing in addition to that tho, there’s totems that give heal on smite and each pact lets you heal on smite too if you spec it that way

That is a third tier item, being a pact shard it is an important item, more important than say wevet tree sap, or river pearls. ~~ You need multiple of them to forge the pact. ~~Yes it is confusing.

The stars are like an overall value of the item, weapon, pact.... we don't have specifics other than some are lower and some are higher and that may or may not mean anything in the long run. Though it will usually be tied to the rarity of the item.

In this case the item a pact fragment is a rare, expensive, valuable item so it has a high star count. The pact itself is not rated as valuable amongst other pacts currently, but a pact fragment of any type is more valuable than a vasp-IV fragment.

Bannerettes seem to be rougher on new envoy than before. This is the the 2nd digit time I've heard people complaing about not being able to kill one, wringing their hands, and leaving.

The healing probably comes from another enemy nearby that can heal. Banneret doesn't heal to full even if you're fighting it for 30min and doing 1dmg per hit

It could just be you are fighting something in the wrong part of map above your level.

Ah, I never realized that can heal. There are two ways you can stagger it then. One is with abilities. For example, the Oscelda birds are very good at proccing stagger fast. Then there's your weapon ofc, but because of how little damage you may be doing, the stagger won't proc as fast.

Yeah, bestone has a bit of an issue where bosses can ignore CC pretty heavily. It used to be you can petrify them reliably, but not atm.

The birds were the main way, but it kinda goes into some sort of "rage" sometimes and it doesnt block at all. I managed to just avoid it for the time being for that.

I seemed to be able to "stop" it from activating its heal IF I managed to Bestone just before the ability finnished, otherwise it just healed right back up (like 50 or 70%)

I am still leveling my stave so that would probably help (rank 12), but I'm not sure what sort of gear I should have aside from Talismans. I'm still fairly new to the game so figuring a bunch out still.

Suggestion: Follow the bird/journal to fables/warsongs until you receive a potted plant. You should make thee large animal friends along the way. Then go wandering around the country side looking for fights.

Day one, level 12, your trouble is you are trying to fight too strong an enemy too soon. I think.

You see how it has a grey bar? That means specifically it is too high level for you.
Your weapon will only do like 1 damage per attack, even if it normally would do more.
You have to do a minimum amount of damage per attack to do more than 1 point and the game knows you can't pass that amount.

I've seen gray bars turn red when you buff yourself, or when swapping from a low level weapon to a higher one.

Heavy attacks will also do it. This is because the game works on a flat armor system, so say if that guy has 100 armor, and your weapon does 50 light attack, your lights will only hit for the 1dmg. But if your heavy attack does 150, then you're doing 50dmg. The teth 1 would also help with this as you said.

I think if the cross in the middle of the bar was changed to something like a skull that'd be more clear. It's fairly common in like WoW and such that "challenging" or "impossible" enemies have that.

Depends on you. Can be easy, can be hard. You good at souls games? Like archery or being a mage? Some things will be easy, others will be hard.

Melee combat is challenging and there's some jank, but I find it very satisfying. Ranged combat is very strong and less risky. Both fun, but you can tell that systems are still being worked on. It's pre-alpha.

It has elements of souls but reminds me a lot of the combat from the first assassin's creed and the shadow of mordor games

If you're trying soulframe because you like RPGs, DnD, Dragon Age, ESO, Skyrim, etc. You absolutely will love Soulframe. I wish I could find more lore bits around the world like in ESO, WoW, or FFXIV but it's still good enough to actually get me invested.

wylds are mild upgrades of pacts you can get f2p, they are not obtainable f2p currently but will be in the future

I just hope this game doesn't become like Tera for the combat even further and it's already close to that in the sense you can literally crouch or jump to dodge an arrow or sword swing.

All Wyld Pacts (classes) will eventually be earnable in-game. The Wyld Pacts are currently variants of the three base classes available in the game - Which are all currently earnable. If you pick a specific Wyld pact you can also choose a starter pact so essentially, you could have access to 2 classes right away. Like for me, I bought the Wyld Sirin and chose Tethren as my starter. So I had 2 different classes to start out with
