Isn't it the reverse now... lets say you're trying to level a weapon.

Due to the XP splitting (if I've understood it correctly)... if you kill things with abilities then nothing goes into your weapon. But if someone else does it it's an even split into your stuff.

In the scenario of doing endless for levelling weapons, well then you've got low level weapons. So it's better if you've got multiple people killing things by, say, bromius leaping on them (or whatever) and then still getting weapon XP from other people's kills.

Also endless stops when you go to change stuff out solo, in multiplayer it'd keep going.

I have felt like in p12 weapon levelling has become much much slower, at least when solo.

They double the skill points you get from 30 to 60

If warframe worked that way, itd be like getting 16 mod slots on a prime for owning both

don't know if the attunment has an actual lore implication but it's just a little gameplay gimmick to combine weapon usage and your virtues. But you can circumvent that by using blessed joineries so you can match your preferred virtue with your preferred weapon of choice.
