best way to increase them is neclaces, the pact you are using gives some and you can put points into it to increase the ammount you have. your character level matters too. leveling pacts, weapons and discovering world trees and location motes give HUGE character exp

they can be kinda random around the area, some are worse than others. you can see how many are in a location when you arive there at the top there are blank diamonds and there are in them showing how many are in the area at a time. you will have to log or leave the area long enough for them to respawn. there are usually 1 or 2 at a givin time

Sounds like a decent starting kit. Your biggest things missing are probably totems and joineries, plus ofc some Virtue Points

okay cause although the stag's health bar was grey (which i learned is due to me being too low level) i have been able to kill the lvl 28-30 normal enemies i see (although it does take a bit) but it felt like i wasnt really getting any xp for them

It takes more XP to level items the higher level they are. So a level 18 pact takes a lot more to level than a level 2 pact.

For now maybe keep your soul sight on while wandering the wilderness. If you see an animal highlighted, try to do the pull on them, yiu can get weapon upgrades that way by charming them.

Nope! That's the runes, which I understand the pain of farming. I've only recently gotten a couple. The totems are from the animals. And if you get The Brawn, which comes from charming the rabbits, you can get up to 1 in 8 smite chance with a fully upgraded tier 3 totem

I haven't even party up yet, just been playing Solo running the overworld triggering those Kings Glaive(?) quests (ghost) that give 750xp faction rep, but it always reset back to 0 after every mission I do. Not in like a "the game is bad" kind of way, just in sort of a way of... there's a lot of bugs, which I understand. It also feels like the grind was (maybe unintentionally) inflated, and I find leveling to be a lot more tedious. Plus there's something very weird going on with damage scaling that means T3 faction tales always end with an invincible enemy if you're not using a level 30 pact. It just feels like I had a groove in P11 with gameplay that isn't there any more with P12.

If you're referring to the enemy having an X instead of a level, you can still throw weapon to damage them. Tedious, but works.

I've added to a bug thread to that effect, but to me it feels like leveling is really not a good idea right now what with weird damage scaling and bugs. Also, yes, I know that - but sometimes even with the red health bar it only does one damage.

The X mark on enemies means their armor beats your unboosted light attack damage.
Basically, if they have 100 armor and you do 90 damage with 1 hit it'll display an X

But if your heavy attack is 180 damage, you'll do 80 damage

Same for Pact buffs, headshots, Smite, etc...

Like I won't say I'm an expert in game mechanics but I like to think I'm doing all the right things, such as picking pacts that rely on Grace and aligning my weapons with Grace and boosting Grace as high as it can go, but I still get X bannerets on 3* faction tales. If the pact isn't 30, I can't damage the Banneret. If I switch back to a level 30 pact, I don't have that problem.

My brother and i did Brewer of Hues the other day while he was squaded with me, we went through the whole quest and got Verminia unlocked for both of us. I got the color scheme but he did not. now on his side he is unable to do the quest again to try and get the armor colors you get from Verminia

Howl explained the 1dmg being a result of the boss's armor being higher than your attack's base damage. Have you put a reforge on your weapon or put totems on it? You might need to buff/mod your weapon to make it viable in those fights

Like I said, I'm doing everything I've been told to do damage and if I do not have a level 30 pact equipped, the final boss of a 3 star faction tale is invincible no matter what.

Like, okay. Let me write this whole thing out so I can just copy the link to it when people ask me. I have Orengall at 22, Rivt at 21, and Esthelle at 9. I do not use Esthelle during the fight. I am attuned to Courage or Spirit depending on how I want to use Orengall's abilities, and I have a Joinery on Rivt for +20 damage. I have all totem slots filled as offensively as possible. When I do a 3* faction tale, when I reach the final boss, I cannot damage it. Heavy charged attacks and throwing only do small amounts of damage. If I equip my level 30 Tethren Pact, I can go back and damage the boss - I have not changed anything else about my loadout, only that I've swapped to level 30 Tethren. I've been able to reproduce this about a dozen times today alone.

When you get a new pact it will be level 0 wich means youll not have upgrades for it and its stats will be weak, and youll also only have one of the 3 skilss

When you level up youll get boost on stats, unlock the skills and get points to upgrade the pact

There should be a floating dot that’s emitting golden glow thingy around any location that you haven’t translated yet,go to and use soul mode and click left mouse to collect it
Collating enough of those things will completely translate the name of the location

I tested a bit. The Paragion get a flat 40 damage buff for each gem charged by smiting. That damage only applies to the next heavy attack. with all 3 gems charged it's a 120 dmg buff on your next heavy

It's just that a cage isn't really a full PoI, it's just a lootbox like a treasure chest. If every lootbox got marked until opened, it'd be quite cluttered

Sometimes you will get a sparrow icon on certain nearby events, for example a rare chest guarded by enemies

at the very least it should count as an event (and therefore binding the sparrow until the cage is opened) considering it locks you in with a forcefield
