I pick a weapon I want to use

then I do my virtue alignments so my weapon has high dmg

then I pick a good pact to use with it

so pacts are tertiary

based on the virtue you have it will scale a different ability from the pact

1st ability is courage 2nd is spirit and 3rd is grace

so if you have a max courage loadout you need to keep in mind that your 1st pact ability will be the buffed one

this is the general rule

like 1 pact has better scalings on grace than courage for example

can someone explain to me how to Wield a Rune in Battle as if i have a brain of a 6 year old?

When you 'smite' an enemy and it gets a blue/red/green swirling glow and you can use Spectral Sight + Light attack to pull it to you, this is smiting.

Your picture shows you have found how to equip a rune. Hover your mouse over the weapon in the equip menu, in the tent. A smaller circle will appear, click that to select a rune, if you have one, for that weapon.

When you smite something it gives the rune in your weapon a use point. A bar will appear around your middle/green power ability in bottom right, with a different number of spaces depending on the rune.

Currently if an enemy leaves the swirl behind after death, smiting it might not empower your rune. To ensure you get the use for smiting them, you have to do it before they die.

To USE the rune power you use Spirit Sight + Fully Charged Heavy Attack OR you set the key to smite in the options menu. I do not think it has a default.

It depends. Cogah isn't inately that hard, your regular gear can probably handle it just fine, But go for long enough, and kill enough bosses, and the level gets really high, which is very very difficult to do solo.

My biggest gripe with Cogah is no fast traveling and when I was farming for Treefell, having to run down there to push him over was testing my patience

Avex pulls ahead actually, it'd just be between the arrow hail or having an actual heavy attack.

Personally I like breaking blocks and I use bow largely close-up cus my long range shots suck.
