I think for the new totem system they should definitely allow you to pull a totem off a weapon that you want, then you can reforge another of the same weapon and replace a totem you don't want with the one you pulled off. That way you:

It also reduces the amount of rolls you need to do by like THOUSANDS. but you'll still need to invest a lot of time to get the 3/4 weapon you want

I’d just be happy to get a system to breakdown weapons to get 1 of its tempers that can be used to craft a specific version of that weapon. Basically you could RNG into your best tempers or you break down bad versions that happen to have a temper or 2 you want then eventually you’ve fished all those tempers out of the pool and you can specifically craft the item with those tempers baked in. A kind of bad luck protection while going for your min/max

just as a way to combat the pure RNG of course.

Well yeah. But the 'unlock' for fashion already has a cost. If anything else, the 'soul' of an armor could be something you earn, and maybe be limited, but the style should be unlimited. (Doesn't even affect me, but the parts of a game that appeal to people is really variant: and fashion is SO important to most Warframe players. I'd hate for someone to get that 'despair' feeling about a system feeling punishing or impossible from SF and quit)
