One invest fully on PvP team while other pve I think it keeps a good balance between and slowly over time they will meet in the middle anyway as they each decide to focus on the alternative. I guess there is no real harm in reset but I do like the punishing aspect even if I am on the receiving end. I like that my decision could have a larger impact
