#RNG WILL be the Death of the Game

I used the Characters tag because this feedback is somewhat tied to Astarte, and that is the only category that is even close to being relevant since mechanics don't have their own tag.

It is insane to me that a mechanic that RNGs you to death was allowed to make it to a live service game.

I don't even know how many times I have gotten to phase 3 and gotten Astarte (Ember Trek Normal 42) to A LITERAL SLIVER of health just to get RNG'd to death by the LIGHTNING that deals damage to and stuns a random character on your team. This past run (shown in the picture attached) I WOULD have cleared BUT my Massiah (whose turn was just prior to my Viper's) had the RNG lightning proc on him.

This alone will murder your casual playerbase. I HIGHLY recommend removing it.

Hundred 100% agree I am also stuck on this super RNG boss but I don’t have the patience to do hundreds of runs to hopefully get lucky on with the RNG once

Also agree this is stupidly frustrating

Update:

I spent literally 6 hours trying to complete this last night while at work. Still have yet to clear it. Dozens of attempts, all thwarted while I had phase 3 below 25% and Astarte is literally stunning my whole team 3 cycles in a row with a 30% chance combined with the lightning RNG. This is absurd. I don't have a problem getting to phase 3, or even getting it low. The final 10% is genuinely the worst, as she gains all of the buffs and the RNG just adds up.

Is this supposed to just be a flat dps check, or what? Why is this made so unnecessarily difficult compared to any of the other levels?

and is viper your only debuffer?

#

if you have an actual debuffer that can apply def - it will help you out alot more. Also as your team is relatively slow (no speed up or turn meter manipulators), i suggest using gigabyte on some of your key units (cachi/lingluo) to cycle them faster so they can get their s2/s3 "quicker"

Pretty sure idea is to use immunity from Lingluo to prevent stun and heal stunned unit at the most optimal time. For example if 3 turns left until stun and the 2nd turn is Lingluo, she must pop immunity. If 3 turns left until stun and the unit will move after Lingluo, let them get stunned so Lingluo can cleanse just before their turn. If the skills of said unit is fully on CD, let them get stunned it doesn't matter they're on CD anyway. But I guess this is too complicated for the average playerbase so I agree they should rework the debuffs. Change them into buffs instead just like how Mihoyo does abyss blessings on Genshin. People prefer buffs more than debuffs. They hate getting debuffed.

I go through all of phase 1 and 2 never getting stunned because I use CTG and Lingluo to have all but one turn cycle covered with immunity.

#

Same strategy for phase 3 and once you get her below 30% you're gunna get perma stunned if you don't burst her.

No, I agree the stuns are bullshit especially in Doki-Doki one of the mobs will randomly stun your CCer kazuyo/kraken and you're basically screwed. RNGs should be reduced. As for Astarte the answer is use Vice. You can taunt Astarte and she will never use skill until her death literally

@stark salmon I have Massiah and Khloros for dps. No defense down, speed up, or different speed down units. What I am using in that picture is the best team I have in general, not just for this fight.

(Wtb Lily, Mio, Mia, Kloss, or Tsukiyo Mi)

I just don't understand why we need to work around an undispellable stun and give the bosses mechanics a stun too

#

Like the only difficulty in Ember Trek seems to be "Lol Lmao you randomly loose control of your characters and there's nothing you can do about it"

#

It's like playing chess and your opponent just randomly takes away some of your pieces

#

Or you play poker and the dealer just randomly grabs cards from your hand constantly

GAAHHA happened to me on both normal and hard astarte

was infuriating xD

Astarte is just there to prevent people from getting 2 Perfect Lattice

# rare hound Just use Vice and taunt the boss

or any other taunt unit that said you still have to reroll like 50 times each proper try before you can start as you will get either 1 shooted or stuned if you have bad adds spawning

#

and thats in first 5s 😄

#

And that comes from someone that did both normal and hard embert trak to 100%

#

I went nearly mad rerolling that fight for 16h

#

just to get good rng on hard

Or tiamat

#

She would be even better than vice

#

But need eff ACC build in her with speed

polar forum

why taimat

#

she only has taunt in her s3

rare hound

Tiamat has taunt the way humans have appendixes

I want to quit the game because of this one single lightning mechanic. It needs to be removed ASAP. As if choosing three cards to buff the boss isn't enough, now you have to try many times and be insanely lucky just to beat it
If the devs are seriously enjoying torturing us with RNG, then I'm just going to move on to another game, one that doesn't make me feel like crap

unreal plank
#

So they nerfed effect accuracy by 50%, which I guess helps a bit?

That wasn't the major problem, though. The RNG portion of who gets stunned when is the major problem I had, personally. Who knows, maybe with 50% less effect accuracy the disorder buff won't stunlock entire teams for 3 turn cycles anymore.

The attack reduction in phase 2 was largely unnecessary.

Stage 2 filtered me much more than Stage 1 after rolling for no-dark and taunting tbh but that was also a function of trying to clear with bad gear

unreal plank
#

I never got rolled in phase 1 or 2. 🤷‍♂️

#

Turn 1 always had CTG immunity.

#

And once my team gets past turn 1 on most content, I win it through attrition.

I mean if you taunt stage 3 she never does more than like 5k damage a turn to your Vice or Rin and it's basically free
