So you can get super usable gear (at least for a long chunk of your progression) out of 3-line drops and the cost of testing it is astronomically lower

i feel like this is a double edged sword though, as a purple rune in sw can never roll 4x, and the 4th substat can never take rolls - it makes it easier to secure some runes but at the same time it reduces the potential if it doesn't already start with speed which does kill quite a few main stat runes from ever having a chance

i personally do like this system a bit more, as i've had a few modules roll the correct substat at +3 and then roll into it at least once more - but i do see the advantages and disadvantages of both

although i think its designed to make resist more appealing? with res you can effectively nuke activations which is kinda wild

but iunno its not great regardless
