#The competitive aspect of Unions

So we are all waiting on more info on the Union v Union feature. But in the meantime, let's talk about Unions in general, and the lack of competitive aspects. Keep in mind that all I'm about to say is pre Union v Union, and is strictlyMY opinion.

Right now I feel like Unions is a bit of an afterthought. Meaning there is barely any competitive aspect, or a real reason to be in a Union other then to get some extra rewards. And that is good in it's own right, don't get me wrong. But it doesn't really promote the idea of working together, which is what a Guild of Union is supposed to be. At least in my opinion.

As of right now we do have the Union boss we can smack around, and that is fine. But that is literally the only thing we have. And lets be real, that is pretty weak in terms of trying to unite Unions together for a common goal, or to simply compete amongst other Unions. Sure, Union v Union is going to change this, but I think it's still worth talking about other aspects.

As this is a feedback thread and not a "pointing out the lack of features thread", we might as well come up with some ideas on what we think would make Unions more competitive.

Suggestions

  • Ranking in each of the arena game modes could give out rewards to your Union. This based on how well each member ranks individually, and/or collectively.
Could either be on a weekly or daily basis.
  • You could also use this information to rank Unions.
More points/higher ranks your Union members collectively achieve, the higher your Union ranks on a leaderboard.
  • This could translate over to Grim Pursuits/Treshold in form of speed clears.
This would only work if there was a daily/weekly leaderboard reset.
Ranking your Union here might not make as much sense though, but it would still be a good idea if it would do something for your Union.

These are some of my ideas. Share yours below!

A Union is like a guild the competitive aspect should come from going against other unions not your own team mates.

Union, Guild, same thing. It's merely a name difference.

I'm not saying that competing against other guilds isn't the ultimate way of being competitive, I'm just saying we're lacking ways to compete as a guild outside of that. You're not rewarded or being put on display for anything outside of the guild boss. But if you are fine with that, then all the more power to you. But I think it's very lacking. Which is why I am voicing my opinion on it, and giving feedback in the process.

Yea I think this is a moot point since we know more guild content is coming and they have stated repeatedly the gvg isn’t the end of guild stuff

I'd love to see a Guild Dungeon system where teams progress through consecutive battles, with HP carrying over from one fight to the next until all team members are defeated. Players could bring up to three preset teams, continuing with the next one when the previous team is wiped out.

Upon reaching a boss, the system could function like the Guild Boss—where all guild members contribute damage collectively until the boss is defeated. Once the boss is down, the path deeper into the dungeon opens.

To keep the experience engaging, the dungeon could feature random events that reward basic resources like Investigation Records (XP) and Etheria Coins. Bosses could also drop gear and Etheria Crystals, making every battle meaningful.

Additionally, introducing a Dungeon Milestone system would be a great way to reward guild-wide progress. Reaching certain milestones could unlock exclusive Union Hub cosmetics, character skins, or other visual customizations, adding long-term goals and excitement to each run.
