Maybe its just me but having used GPNVG's and owning a set of duals myself, the quad unit is EXTREMLY on point with how its implemented especially with its overlay in VR. However the way the duals are implemented feel... cartoonish? Oversized? I feel like I have one giant circle on my face and it feels extremely far out, I'm not entirely sure how to describe it. My suggestion though would be to look at how you guys made the Quads, and implement it similarly with the edges, the player view modelling, etc so it feels a bit more natural/normal to use. Genuinely you guys have almost perfectly recreated the use of quads from my time getting to try them, I just hope you can do the same with normal dual tubes.

they both have issues but it feels like the fov is just too high
i know exactly what you mean
"its not close, its huge" is how i describe it
So for the quads, they got the wideness part just right, headset FOV is just too small to actually appreciate it. Vertical FOV is also fairly accurate.
For duals, I use mine for a ton of MSW events and also just going out here in the woods where I'm at in idaho, your FOV for both Vertical and horizontal isnt amazing, but you still have a good amount of vision, but theres not a huge circle outside the viewing lens if you set it up correctly
I feel like I'm looking through for lack of a better term some weird portal that happens to let me see in NV

idk what units you have but the ones in game should be around 40° fov
That's the same for any general dual tube setup. My own personal unit is an LLI Aeternus
I think the edge of the nod should be blurry to simulate the eye's focus
PLEASE GOD NO. DOF is something that should not be implemented in a VR game. Your eyes naturally already do this. They just need to basically make the PIP outline have much thinner edges and bring it closer to your face
I get what you're saying, I'm saying because of how our eyes work its not worth it
It's housing
There's IMO no point in adding DOF to that area when Im not going to be looking at the edges explicitly and my brains already going to do the work at blurring them for me
Wastes everyone's time and the devs could work on something more important
Maybe
that's not the point he's making
he's saying the housing itself is way too big
I can attest to this, I've used units before in real life
it only really appears as a thin circle when it's right up against your eye
