#ADS movement speed is way too slow.

Bump, ads move speed could be increased

Agreed, I’m complete ass at CQB irl and I can move with more agility in real life than I can in Geronimo

#

That will probably be fixed tho

restive sage
#

You cant just sprint around with perfect aim irl

#

But its way too much rn

Inertia is one thing

#

But do you think when they killed Bin Laden the guys were like “hold on I gotta slow down when I’m aiming”

#

Fuck no

restive sage
#

Bro 😭

#

They also can't hold perfectly stable aim while running lmao

An untrained shooter could probably fully sprint and only be moderately less accurate

I mean you’re going to be less accurate as a result of the lateral movement, but implementing a baked in weapon sway while moving is kinda

#

Not good

restive sage
#

No I dont

#

I just think a small movement debuff while ads is valid

#

Otherwise you could just sprint around hammering headshots lol

worthy seal
#

Which is entirely plausible

In vr, there is no weapon sway from movement, your dot just holds on target no matter the distance

#

You can sprint and hold on targets hundreds of meters away

#

Thats not realistic or balanced

worthy seal
#

I feel like this is a preferable alternative though

restive sage
#

It depends on what kind of game you're trying to build

# clever latch You mean exactly like tier1 units do it IRL, lol.

I don't agree with this. Our local gunrange has some of the best shooters in the world at it, and has hosted many national IPSC and USPSA tournaments. I have watched the best in the world shoot a lot. No one can on a full sprint shoot a zones. Yes they can at a consistant gait that they have trained for. Shooting while moving it very diffitcult do to the swaying of the hips and the impact of your feet. Thats very very hard to duplicate in VR.

restive sage
#

Its impossible to replicate the impact that your movement has on your aim in vr

The closest we can get is forcing you to slow down a little when aiming

This is a realistic milsim game lol

It should replicate real gunfighting

Again, there’s a reason most CQB focused tactical shooters have done away with this mechanic

#

It is a call of duty mechanic

We know that CQB is possible at this kind of speed

In game, it more or less isn’t

That’s a problem

All they need to do is make the sprinting either slower, or add a combat pace speed

@clever latch Of the current speeds in game, walking, then using the thumbstick to reach the jog speed, and then the armswing max sprint, what percent of which value would you say is ideal for moving with sight picture? Rn you drop to walking speed.
I imagine something like still being able to use the thumbstick for like 50% jog bonus while aiming?

Honestly the current thumb stick jog with sight picture would be perfect to me based off my IRL experience. But probably 75% of jog would be good. You can still use base level walking for “limited penetration” tactics. We just need more speed to complement dynamic clearing especially for hostage rescue where time is supposed to be of importance. but I would be happy just to have any more speed while aiming. The walk is just TOOOOO SLOWWW. I feel like I’m hanging out in the fatal funnel. Lol.

Good feedback! Will talk it over with the boys

I agree, except arm swing is lame. Doing it like onward is the most intuitive IMHO. Variable speed depending on how far you push stick, but limited unless you drop weapon down, then you can go full sprint. Also you move way slower when crouched.

Game is awesome. They NEED to fix the car in the training range tho. You can’t shoot through the rear window. Also the mag palming glitch is so funny lmao

Oops wrong thread

I think invisible walls that you can’t shoot through when you clearly can see the enemy is pretty important 💅

mossy kiln
#

This is true

#

Onward had, and still has a bunch of invisible barriers and it makes the game frustrating when you should have killed an enemy but couldn't because of poor hitboxes

i mean i agree with the speed mechanic. But there's just certain limitations with VR.
You don't have the keybinds like you do on keyboard.

I def agree there should be a Jog/More dynamic pace maybe just a click of the right stick to switch between a base speed for deliberate or dynamic pace.

#

then hold for a jog/sprint

#

sum like that
