#ADS movement speed is way too slow.

Bump
It should just be the base movement speed
Agreed, I’m complete ass at CQB irl and I can move with more agility in real life than I can in Geronimo
That will probably be fixed tho
I would at least understand a bit of a decrease for balancing reasons
You cant just sprint around with perfect aim irl
But its way too much rn
Definitely not a sprint. But the jog we get in game when the gun is low or high, in real life I can ring A-Zone steel targets at 50 yards while jogging at that pace with no problem.
For sure
I wouldn’t
Inertia is one thing
But do you think when they killed Bin Laden the guys were like “hold on I gotta slow down when I’m aiming”
Fuck no
An untrained shooter could probably fully sprint and only be moderately less accurate
You also cant do that in vr
Moving your character in vr doesn't disturb your aim in the same way that it would irl
I mean you’re going to be less accurate as a result of the lateral movement, but implementing a baked in weapon sway while moving is kinda
Not good
You don’t want sway
No I dont
I just think a small movement debuff while ads is valid
Otherwise you could just sprint around hammering headshots lol
Which is entirely plausible
You mean exactly like tier1 units do it IRL, lol.
Tier 1 dudes can do that at closer distances
In vr, there is no weapon sway from movement, your dot just holds on target no matter the distance
You can sprint and hold on targets hundreds of meters away
Thats not realistic or balanced
I feel like this is a preferable alternative though
It depends on what kind of game you're trying to build
bump
do you guys even larp
This game is about leveraging the principles of CQB. Surprise, Speed and violence of action. If we can only leverage two, we are missing out.
I don't agree with this. Our local gunrange has some of the best shooters in the world at it, and has hosted many national IPSC and USPSA tournaments. I have watched the best in the world shoot a lot. No one can on a full sprint shoot a zones. Yes they can at a consistant gait that they have trained for. Shooting while moving it very diffitcult do to the swaying of the hips and the impact of your feet. Thats very very hard to duplicate in VR.
Bingo
Its impossible to replicate the impact that your movement has on your aim in vr
they could just make it very shakey if you shoot and run
The closest we can get is forcing you to slow down a little when aiming
I’m aware…I also compete.
That's less preferable imo
Then why the pushback?
This is a realistic milsim game lol
It should replicate real gunfighting
Because it’s TOO slow. I was joking about the SPRINTING while shooting. But the jog should be the same no matter the weapon position.
I do agree it is too slow for true pros. But if your sprinting it better shake like a MOFO or just not be an option.
True
Exactly! I would be fine if the sprint went to the jog when aiming. But As someone with a LE background, shooting competition and lots of shoot house work, I just want to be able to shoot and move at the pace I already know I can in real life.
agreed. gonna take awhile for them to dial that in....still has the best gun play I have used in VR besides ACEXR
LOVE ACE! I have 250,000 round shot in ACE. I was one of the first 100k coins.
Which harms CQB
The main stay of the game
Again, there’s a reason most CQB focused tactical shooters have done away with this mechanic
It is a call of duty mechanic
so you saved a few bucks in ammo??
lol! 100% saved a small fortune. Dry fire and ACE. Confirm at the range.
If your cqb requires you to sprint while shooting with 0 weapon sway you may want to rethink your tactics lol
No you don’t understand what I’m getting at heee
We know that CQB is possible at this kind of speed
In game, it more or less isn’t
I have been to busy lately and its hot as hell down here in FL, but I need to get back to it!
That’s a problem
We’re neighbors. I’m in South Louisiana, lol!
All they need to do is make the sprinting either slower, or add a combat pace speed
Volusia County gun and hunt club. Gorka Ibanez is the owner... so its pretty Hardcore. Also have Manny Bragg ( multiple nation IPSC champ) and many other heavy hitter that shoot there. They aren't human
Im interested in this topic
@clever latch Of the current speeds in game, walking, then using the thumbstick to reach the jog speed, and then the armswing max sprint, what percent of which value would you say is ideal for moving with sight picture? Rn you drop to walking speed.
I imagine something like still being able to use the thumbstick for like 50% jog bonus while aiming?
Honestly the current thumb stick jog with sight picture would be perfect to me based off my IRL experience. But probably 75% of jog would be good. You can still use base level walking for “limited penetration” tactics. We just need more speed to complement dynamic clearing especially for hostage rescue where time is supposed to be of importance. but I would be happy just to have any more speed while aiming. The walk is just TOOOOO SLOWWW. I feel like I’m hanging out in the fatal funnel. Lol.
Good feedback! Will talk it over with the boys
completely agree on this , and is it only me thats clumsy or do i always end up getting stuck on doorways and stuff even when i collapse my stock , im trying to j-hook or even cross and 50% chance that i fuck the momentum up or my body gets stuck on something
It happened a few times, but it’s usually my own fault if it happens. For banging the gun on the threshold. lol
alright then its probably the speed of the game like you said and my brain wired to 3 years of TAVR only lmaoo
early TAVR used to hangup almost exactly like Geronimo is now, they loosened the gun physics a little too much IMO. But TAVR has really improved into a great game.
I agree, except arm swing is lame. Doing it like onward is the most intuitive IMHO. Variable speed depending on how far you push stick, but limited unless you drop weapon down, then you can go full sprint. Also you move way slower when crouched.
And cause people to vomit?
Game is awesome. They NEED to fix the car in the training range tho. You can’t shoot through the rear window. Also the mag palming glitch is so funny lmao
Oops wrong thread
girl the car is not that important 😭
I think invisible walls that you can’t shoot through when you clearly can see the enemy is pretty important 💅
This is true
Onward had, and still has a bunch of invisible barriers and it makes the game frustrating when you should have killed an enemy but couldn't because of poor hitboxes
slowing down is a Call of duty mechanic?
Slowing down on ADS is uncommon for tactical shooters
Not saying it doesn’t exist
i mean i agree with the speed mechanic. But there's just certain limitations with VR.
You don't have the keybinds like you do on keyboard.
I def agree there should be a Jog/More dynamic pace maybe just a click of the right stick to switch between a base speed for deliberate or dynamic pace.
then hold for a jog/sprint
sum like that
