Ground Branch’s laser is completely off isn’t it?

Will be doing some night shooting with NGALs and 31’s in a few weeks. Will try to get some footage of the lasers on different powers for you.

not amazing photos but something for the time being. but for the most part yeah Ground branch has it fairly solid unlike the real world counter part which acts more like a spiders web that's been rained on

the left image I'd even go as far as to say that in itself could still be too strong

Agreed, might be the camera that’s making it appear that way.

One thing as well to consider is that as you go through the structure shooting, blowing charges, using bangs, etc. more dust and smoke is going to get kicked up so the beam will become more distinct. Same thing based off weather as well. Shooting through smoke, fog, rain? How’s the humidity? All of these could very well make your laser seem like the left photo or similar to what they have in game (still not as distinct as that though)

Good vid on ir light and how it interacts at different angles along with brightnesses etc.

when I got into IR lasers I never really understood it until I got my hands on one, really interesting knowing how you have to handle it in certain environments and switching between modes, honestly gaming made it seem a lot easier than it actually is

I also wouldn’t have my laser toggled on the whole time… only really need it when you’re about to engage or deescalate someone.
