sometimes body armor can fail and the enemy shoots right through the plates or in between

this can happen due to heat, moisture, ultraviolet and visible light, detergents, friction, and stretching

it doesnt really make a ton of sense when we would probably have our weapons routinely and thoroughly cleaned between each operation unlike a common grunt

maybe for average military servicemen but the high level SF groups we take part of in game have top of the line stuff specifically to prevent stuff like this it just seems too uncommon for the games setting to bother modelling something that can get pretty complex

yeah it is better equipment and is designed for it to lower the chances, but still can happen

Weapons jams don’t really happen unless you haven’t cleaned your gun after bringing it to 50+ missions which SF most likely will clean their weapons after a mission or maybe a couple

well hangfires are very rare with modern ammo and weapons and failures to feed actually are made less likely with higher end weapons and magazines, which is also greatly influenced by how often you clean your weapon

Bar your weapon being hit with a bullet in the receiver, your gun shouldn’t be malfunctioning

Sometimes a plate doesn’t work but it is very very very very rare

Anything can fail but if it's plates then it's just because its a factory defect
