i would really like if malfunctions could be to add to the game, the malfunctions would make it supper realistic if its even possible,
if they will be add to the game it would have to be randomized so at any moment you would have a failure to feed or failure to extract or if you get something into your barrel.

Resident Swat Nerd already made a compelling argument against weapon jams

It's not going to be a thing. It's too uncommon irl if you manage your gun well, and I don't really see it being a fun feature.

Thank god, if it was a long term operation patrolling the Middle East maybe, but these are breach and clear operations by SF, their guns are going to be rock solid

realism < fun

fathom void
#

But this game is going for realism = fun

gentle umbra
#

Absolutely, but jams are not fun unless you know how to react to it, then it’s tolerable and cool in videos after

Unless it’s a long rifle…Then it’s never fun

Please no, lol. I get that you want realism, but given that you won't have as tactile of a feel for everything like you would in real life, some concessions has to be made to make it more enjoyable. Malfunctions with modern weapons that are properly maintained are so uncommon anyway that trying to simulate it would actually make it worse than real life.

M240B especially likes to jam. A lot.

#

But its easy af to clear a jam, tap rack reassess

ruby sleet
# wraith garden Imma just call BS on that last statement as someone who handles military firearm...

Machine guns have always been more prone to malfunctions. And yes, the majority of all malfunctions are linked to magazines. But you're also talking about standard issue items which I'm assuming this game is not supposed to be about regular infantrymen... Not sure what you're tapping on a M240B though... More like lock, look, push, lol. Sorry, literally making that up, not sure what they would call that procedure of clearing a malfunction in a machine-gun. 😆

#

I'm sure you'll know the steps better, I'm just going by memory

wraith garden
#

Nah MG's are different but I assume we wont be using MG's like that

ruby sleet
#

And to be fair I did say "properly maintained" which would include maintenance of magazines by replacing springs and followers, or just replacing old magazines regularly.

wraith garden
#

Easier to replace mags than fix them tbh

#

Even with that, Jams come from ammunition and we all know ammo in the Military sucks.

#

Even the SF guys are using shitty ammo, its Army wide.

ruby sleet
#

We'll pretend the unit in this game will use only premium ammo 😂

wraith garden
#

Pfft 😂

ruby sleet
#

That would be nice wouldn't it

wraith garden
#

I think jamming isnt that far fetched If ITR can pull it off.

#

Make it a super super rare thing or have it be a game mode setting idk lol

#

Hell jams are easy as hell to cause you can jam a handgun by just holding it wrong.

ruby sleet
#

I still think it'll be more detrimental than it would be beneficial to the game because you're not actually physically holding the weapon, you'll then have to remember what buttons are assigned to it, etc. while clearing a malfunction in real life is more intuitive and in your muscle memory if you train in it enough

Plus dont say SF guys weapons never jam

As a military veteran who served in the army, doing a military reaction video to the worlds number 1 special operations unit training was very exciting and absolutely crazy to see, who could be better than delta force operators? What do you think other secret training is like?

And if you're talking about limp-wristing, I feel that's much less of a problem with modern handguns, but I could be wrong, I only know what I personally observe, and I haven't done like any proper studies in it or anything like that

wraith garden
ruby sleet
#

It depends on how the game will go about it I guess. I mean, it's a moot point because they said they weren't planning for it

wraith garden
#

Yeah but they also talked about modding tools so, Modders could look back on these ideas.

ruby sleet
#

Just like how we shouldn't simulate needing to use the bathroom in games, I just don't feel this would add anything, lol

wraith garden
#

Says you but I have a mod for that in Fallout 4

ruby sleet
#

lol

#

Does it simulate constipation if you don't have enough fiber in your diet?

#

Because if not, then that's unrealistic and it's unplayable, lol 😝

wraith garden
#

Lol no

ruby sleet
#

Interesting video, are they using simunition?

wraith garden
#

Most likely, or blanks

ruby sleet
#

Not a fan of the dude yelling about everything though, lol.

wraith garden
#

Well they are Delta, so whatever they are doing is working

ruby sleet
#

No, not them, the guy reacting to the video

wraith garden
#

Ah thats his whole thing. He screams all the time, he is prior Infantry so

Good luck getting that shit issued

I think it’s fair to assume Geronimo will not follow in their footsteps with said condition system, which I think is the only way to properly implement jamming into VR

#

Hence I wouldn’t support implementing jams

cosmic juniper
#

Exactly

undone oar
#

I feel like I’d be the only person that’d enjoy the occasional 0.01% chance of a weapon jam lol just something simple like pulling the bolt back and shaking the gun. Most jams from my experience are cuz of bad mags and no amount of preventative maintenance is really gonna prevent that

#

But i get why they can be annoying asf

Wonderful
