I disagree, I think the proximity chat is a great addition for finding new players and teams. If you don't like it there is an option option mute it in the settings and mute yourself.

Now hypothetically, if there were initially only chinese children on all servers, who dont speak english and you dont speak chinese, would you consider proximity chat a good idea? Yes, the chinese kids would benefit, but you wouldn’t. They would make chinese content and draw in more chinese players. And other people who would be interested in playing the game are turned off by all the Chinese players and wont purchase the game. You end up having a great game, with the wrong community, because you dont belong in it. If no one could communicate, there would be no community, and people wouldn’t be turned off and people with all kind if backgrounds would play the game. And than you call your friend who is not turned off, because he doesn’t see the next gorilla tag in this game, and he agrees to play eith you and you have the time of your life. Now, im talking a bunch of nonsense, expecting you to get what i mean
