find a rusty and chipped saber with a broken tip as a chest collectible, and make a clean silver saber an unlockable after surviving 24 days. (after saber is unlocked, you get a new silver saber when opening a chest.)

A melee weapon that isn't a rock or knife would be amazing. Rocks seemingly do no damage against the larger animals, I heard the knife can break if used in combat, and guns need to be reloaded after each shot. A saber could be a good option if you don't want to waste ammo but also want to have a chance at killing a beast.
