Be sure you're paying attention to the wind currents of the day. You move a lot faster following the wind and a LOT slower moving against it. It also uses less stamina and can't "fail" on you midair in the same way the broom can.

If the wind currents prove to be a bit too difficult to overcome you can also use Pappus' passive to travel faster
I say that since sometimes you want to explore one side of the world but may just get unlucky and have to go up against the wind, making it a slog to deal with
