I recently started using a new technique for creating image prompts. Instead of using something overly complicated, I run the copied prompt through Perplexity. I either it to analyze the prompt and generate a new one or simply ask it to rewrite the existing prompt. In some cases, the rewritten version may end up being a bit longer than the original. To enhance it further, I specify that it should be refined to a strict 1000-character count.

they says thit about it........It seems there might be a misunderstanding about your token balance. As a paid user, you should be able to generate images as long as you have tokens available. With 31,085 tokens, you should still be able to use Flow State.
Let's check a few things:
Make sure you're looking at the correct token counter. In Flow State, free users see a percentage wheel, but as a paid user, you should see your actual token count.
If you're still unable to generate, there might be a technical issue. Try refreshing the page, but be aware this will clear existing generations in Flow State.
If the problem persists, it's best to contact our support team for assistance. You can do this via the chat function in the bottom left of the app.
Remember, as a paid user, your tokens reset monthly based on your subscription date. If you're still having issues, please request to speak with a human agent for further help.

so for those wondering about "running out of flow state", this is what I've seen posted about it.
During the trial period, which we are still in i believe, there is a 'soft limit' to images generated. i've seen daily and monthly limits discussed. and free users are on a limit there anyways, so it seems until the tool is out of the trial phase, everyone has a limit.

i agree, having to wait till the end of the month while i still have tokens, would irritate me too, but I have been told the limit is "quite high", which i assume means thousands of generations..? 🤷‍♂️

if you hit it, you can try asking the intercom team, but honestly I would wait until at least the next token reset first, as all countdowns refresh at that time. if the issue persists after token reset, then reach out.

maybe the trial period ends this monday by surprise, i dont know, and you can suddenly generate infinitely as a paid member, maybe not.

and a little browse thru the public feed. if you click on any image in the leonardo feed, you can see what their prompts were. when i started, i just started by making myself a list of key words from other people's prompts that i liked..

I personally found alot of the prompts to seem like they have been generated by AI beforehand, I have heared that using chatGPT for prompts regarding image generation are generally bad. Having medium english skills I am trying to figure out how to maximize what I can squeeze out of the AI system

Have you ever tried making/remaking backgrounds in canvas editor and specifically keeping characters intact? I am for example struggling with proper masking selection I think because even with the use of negative prompts I sometimes get the character altered with extra limbs hands fingers etc.

Here is what I am doing right now as a hobby.

I have irl photo of for example myself, me with my gf, or our doggo

I am trying to change the background to different scenes ( for example, ancient egypt set and setting, cyberpunk set and setting etc )

And what I want to do is make the background blend in so well that it actually looks good and authentic

Basically I paint out the background with mask and then write in the prompt for the background to be created around us

No idea if there are other ways to make this work lol

Community models are out of date (and most were badly trained by the user 😅)

I’d say Phoenix, Flux and Albedo are great at making sticker designs.

As Jawknee suggested, Start with the minimal prompt to get a working result and the iterate to add more details.

And when learning to write good prompts, Flow State will actually automatically iterate between variations: most will not be what you are looking for, but when finding THE on, you can click on "More like this" to then get variations that more closely resembles your objective.
So Flow State is like the Cheat code to learn prompting 😉

Overall, some outfits were too garish for me. But that's just a matter of taste. I don't like it too pompous. Others surprised me and I really liked them. 💗 The creativity of many users is fantastic.

Searching through the Discord, I can see people talking about using the character reference feature, so it seems to be available. When I try to use it, though, it's marked as "Coming Soon". I've tried switching to several different models and this has been true with each of them. Am I doing something wrong?

Character Reference will not work for now with the Phoenix and Flux presets. Others should be fine 🫡

Huh, ok. Thanks! So I just tried it with Diffusion XL, but it didn't come close to following my prompt. I'm trying to generate a small group of people sitting at a table, and I want one of them to have my face, which I uploaded as a reference image. The image I got from this was just the one person as a close-up. I'm new to Leonardo... is there a particular model that I should be using for this? Both Phoenix and Flux did a decent job following the overall scene instructions, but obviously I can't get my face in there with them.

You could do a switcheroo and generate a complex setup with Pheonix and then use it as a Content Reference AND add a character reference

Keep in mind though that for now Character Reference may put your face on all characters 😅 It's not yet designed for groups

Maybe there's some better way to go about this... I don't really care if it's actually my face in there. I'm trying to generate an image of me teaching a seminar with some students. If it's kinda me-ish, that's good enough. I've gotten some almost-useable results just from running the prompt over and over with Phoenix, but it also REALLY wants the "me" in the images to have facial hair. (I've had no luck with stopping it—"clean-shaven" doesn't help, variants of "--no" don't work, etc.)

There're a couple of images that I would use if I could just get the facial hair out of there, but my experiments with editing it in Canvas ended up with a mangled face that didn't match the style of the rest of the image.

Any thoughts?

Yeah, I tried that too. It's very stubborn. Seemed like just not mentioning it got me something like 1/3-1/2 of the images without facial hair, but doing anything to try to prevent it made the % go up.

Yup. It's applying the character reference to all of the people, looks like. Any workarounds for this? I tried telling it, in the prompt, to use the reference only for the one character, but it didn't do anything.

I don't know if it will help you, but I found my best way to approach a scene is by starting with a very minimal prompt that gets the minimal working image, then I iterate the prompt to adjust the details.

Which could also be semi-automated with Flow State

Like this one was the prompt

It may be a little too "business"-y so changes could be made to the prompt

Also to consider: Image prompts are a list of what you wish to see. No specific commands will be interpreted by the system
(Although more recent models like Phoenix and Flux have a language model included so they are starting to understand context a lot more, like placement/arrangements/etc...)

Flow State is THE best way to just get loads and loads of variations. Then when we see something we like, we can save it to our library and/or click on "More like this" to get a new list but that will resemble more and more what we are looking for
