They did not test anything, so got surprised by the fact that the old AP obviously is not recognized now that they rewrote it entirely and now pulls from 1 single account column instead of character columns.

so someone is now hastily throwing a SQL query together to migrate the old AP into the new AP system. And then they got to apply that on all live data without breaking sht again. So it'll be a few days at least I'd guess. And the real ball buster will be, that the new system used account wide, but they cannot simply combine all old AP because the old system was still separated on characters and doing so would give people rewards they didn't (under the rules from last season) earn. So they need to jury-rig some weird middle layer to deal with it all
