I don't hate forced damage on bosses. When used properly (Lich) it can add complexity to the fight; forcing you to monitor your health pool and/or build for specific resistances (Ray). But when the forced damage is just random chance, its lazy design that punishes the player for attempting to enjoy the content (clops, HR ray, fkin fire colossus)

forced damage should be predictable or avoidable. taking away both is uninspired laziness. give players agency
