• the dotted lines on the map are ship routes. Hop on any of the ships going past (climb up on the nets on the side) and once you reach the border of the map, you're out. Along the routes, you also got docks with a blue-isch torch, once that generates blue smoke it means a ship is inbound. The ship makes a 10sec stop there.
• the rowboats, on the north and south edges of the map you find a ship, pull a row boat between the 2 ropes any time after the sea has become choppy (about half way) and you get hoisted to safety.

your impact power works against the enemy impact resistance for how much people are stunned when they hit a block. if you have higher power you are stunned for less time

I'm fairly certain that unless you have enough impact power to completely knock away whatever they're blocking with that doesn't matter though because weapons use the blocked animation as the riposte window

it takes a bit to attack again after you hit a shield no matter the weapon. like against the buckler which has a high impact resistance. your attack gets bounced. the very same effect you get for hitting an enemy parry if you have a larger weapon with more impact power then the impact resistance of the enemies weapon then you still get parried but your attack isnt bounced back so you can get a second attack off or swap to blocking normally quicker then if you were to just get bounced. crush gives you higher impact power letting that thing happen. while something like fighters perfect block means the fighters block animation lasts for less time and the enemy gets stunned for more
