Fighter is picked up a lot because its an all-rounder. thats why you see them more because theyre both easier to pick up for newer and experienced players alike, and fighters because they can fit into any party and work in almost any scenario

people saying 'bar is bad/braindead/etc' are the kinds of people to run face first to a barbarian and get surprised when the class meant to 1v1 and fight melee kills them. Not sure what youre expecting there. The counterplay to Barb is relatively simple (from an experienced barb main): when they use their abilities, dont engage. Wait for them to die off. Afterwards, engage. If youre ranged, range them down and keep distance. they have zero ranged options. If they use achiles, dodge last second.

Saying theyre braindead and op just tells me you arent good at the game. you just cast spells at them and let them get close and expect all to go well. barb is designed to close distances against spell casters. thats their core gameplay. Good at melee and counter to magic.

The best thing you can do is obviously assume every fighter is running disarm... If you don't then you're making a bad judgement call and should reprioritize your game plan. Learn a fighters counter or your counter which may be the fighter and dont take certain fights.

barb fighter and warlock are the only classes that i can see countering everyone if you play them right. they all have access to easy pdr and high mdr along with really strong melee options. + shields lets you run a ranger into a corner and each of those classes has atleast semi decent range dmg now

u cant win with any of those classes vs someone who is going full range, at least not before this patch. If you were going melee warlock your knowledge was probably lacking, same with fighter and bows/crossbows, your not simply gonna be as good as a ranger with perks.
