They shouldn't touch a thing until they have progression systems for everything... Refine character identities and playstyles, resource mechanics, satisfying combat with more counter-abilities, counterplay, etc., build out class trees, abilities, passives, perks. Weapon and armor talent trees and progression. Weapon and armor customization, enchantments (via rarity-locked RNG spawned enchantment tables, or scrolls bound on character or account), redesign the socketing system so it's more interesting than just get gem, put in gear, get exactly what you want... Put more progression systems within the actual dungeon, instead of just running to exactly what you want, ignoring everything else... Randomize as much as possible within the dungeons for replay-ability... Professions, guild halls, tavern/tavern rooms, and the list goes on...

They keep building out content that gets old quick, or doesn't actually build out the core of the gameplay loop... Like, oh... a new water map that nobody likes....

I hope so, but following their methodology and game development process since the start, they will start with the objectively worst way to implement a system, and slowly change it, constantly trying to reinvent the wheel, and end up doing what other games have done which they could've just copied to begin with. — I get trying to be inovative, but then there's just wasting your time...

A lot of other studios have put in the money, time, and creativity to develop systems that work, and there's usually a reason that there is comonality of game systems across games and genres, cause they work, and there's clear flaws with other ways of doing things

Saying SDF “has no vision” just ignores reality. Dark and Darker has had a clear high-risk, high-reward direction since day one, and Ironmace has stuck to it instead of caving to every complaint or trend. Not every change is supposed to feel good immediately—that’s the point of having long-term design goals. If the devs actually lacked vision, the game wouldn’t still have such a distinct identity. Disagreeing with decisions is fair, but pretending there’s no plan behind them just isn’t accurate.

Demonlock is very good when pocketed by Bloom druid. It's kind of like a Barbarian with less damage and exploitation strikes. I'd still rather have the Barbarian on my team, but I'm glad Demon is back to being viable.

I only play 2 modes. PVE and Arena. Trust me, I have no issues killing mobs lol. My problem with monsters in arena is there is only 2 classes can VIABLY use them to their advantage but EVERYONE ignores them. It creates chaotic situations where the fight is no longer decided by individual player skill but random chance based on basic monster AI. Just put traps we can use/avoid instead, forget monsters in arena

answered above. mobs needed to maintain balance. whole game structured and balanced as a pvpve. so u cant just delete mobs from the fights. not until u create a totally separative and independent game mod. arena its not like that, its just the same rooms and the same situation, its not independent, so it just a little part of the dungeon in general. so it relying on structure and balance of the dungeon. so we cant delete mobs now, which is sucks

there are definitely ways to make arena maps as challenging and engaging, but MORE strategic if mobs were replaced with traps and environmental dangers. you can pretend we NEED monsters to maintain some mythical force like "the spirit of the game" all you want, but we also have traps in the game. use those instead

man. read accurate. i mean, u cant delete mobs technically. cus its like delete some weapons or perks on arena. its a part of a structure. arena is a part of a dungeon so it have 100% same structure and u cant just remove part of the system. cus then the whole system will not work properly. u can delete mobs only if u create a separate mod. arena is not like this now. they do not have or do not spent resourses to create such mode now. yes it sucks. but u cannt do it another way now

yes, monsters are part of the arena structure... thats the problem. I'm saying make it NOT be part of the structure.

Is it also part of the dungeon that we keep our gear on loss? NO, they let us keep gear to limit player friction to make it more FUN. Arena isn't meant to be a 1:1 dungeon simulation. Its meant to be a 3v3 encounter within a limited space, without escape mechanics; so players fight until one team is fully eliminated.

Remove monsters to limit player friction, replace with traps and environmental dangers to make it more FUN.
