my bad @torpid lodge , a lot of the unique armor gear is not really worthwhile. You have to pray to RNGeesus for a unique weapon for now. We'll be focusing on making much more varied/interesting items for the next playtest once we get the random properties feature implement.

It's your game xD I'm just a huge fan of longswords/bastard swords but not a fan of a thrust being the first attack in a combo from a sword lol. Just feels weird to me ๐คท the ox guard looks dope though!

While looking at the various attack patterns of the Longsword, we chose the pattern with the stab first in order to create a sword with different character in our system where we cannot freely decide the motion.
So it might feel a little artificial.

Makes sense for diversity sake but it just feels unnatural to me. The animations look great, it's just a feel thing. I figured the stab being the second attack thrusting upward from the inside left would feel more natural.
Coming off of the third swing as the first, if that makes sense.
Would also give a diverse swing trajectory going from downward, to upward, to lateral.
I'd just be remiss if I didn't try to explain it fully.

Yes. You are right. In the real world it would be more natural. However, in our game, an attack that stabs from the bottom up is more likely to hit the hand rather than the head, so it is a little disadvantageous in terms of balance.

Longsword swordsmanship was very difficult, deep and complex, and it was not something that could be easily conquered.

Kill him before he uses it - or be behind him when he does. His loot is amazing, he'll always drop orange stuff and has a chance of dropping yellow which is a tier above afaik

a solo in end gear has a pretty high chance of winning actually, depends on what the 3stack is, if it's a 3stack clerics all of which run judgement, or a 3stack of wizards that do not mind teamkilling with fireball, you will most likely die, yeah

Yeah this sums it up nice. Theres a lot more to it but I can tell you understand. If a solo gets stuck in a bear trap its over. If they get hit by magic missile or a fireball or an arrow to the head or mistime and take a Bardiche to the head. So many possibilities.

this was day 2, when the servers were getting the worst of it. I think it was because of the servers that this happened, it only happened 2 or 3 times to me that day and never happened on any of the other days

Even bumbling fucks can 1v3 I saw Xqc 1v3 a ranger fighter and barbarian while he had a mob on him, sure the guys he fought played it like ass but he caught them off guard and that was all it took

Never underestimate the value of choosing where and when to fight someone. Not only that, but as a solo, you don't have to worry about other people on your team repositioning, making noise, giving you away, or worried about splitting up if you need to bail

Atleast in this game im actually atleast able to take 1 or 2 down with me in a 1v3, and occasionally all 3. Not really many other games like this where that's even feasible
