They are levels, you start on 1 (or 2) and can go down (with the red stairs or portals) to those maps, but they will be harder but also with better loot

layers, basements basically. 1 is surface, 3 is deeeep basement. 2-3 means they will get another layer before it in the future, maybe..
currently, only castle has all 3, going down red brings you deeper. The deeper you go, the harder the enemies and better loot. (which is why ice is more diffucult than castle, you skipped a layer)

wheel is a module (square / tile), not a map. And those are random, within the different maps. For crypts it's 5x5 random modules out of a list of a lot more. Only the top layer castle is not random and is a 7x7

I've done norms dragon like 100 times it's mega easy, the second someone jumps on HR dragon arena it hits me with a jank leap and it's over. 5/5 times

anyone else agree that the halberd's stats (sour spot, dmg, range) aren't the core problem? The real issue is that 2H weapons speed penalties were adjusted in previous patches, so sheathing/unsheathing weapons and swinging doesn't slow you like it used to. The core problem is that 2H weapons have asymmetric benefits compared to 1H combat.

HR ice, the top of the mountain (with yeti+harpy) has 2 of them with each a 20% drop rate. So 2-3 rounds tops to get one. Nowhere near as bad as the awl.

Genuine opinions rather than meta hating slop, the curve is a little less steep for pvp as you can play PvE to get used to the weapons and their swings, as with many games meta exists and it's 100% your choice if you follow it or not, the knight system I haven't tried yet but I have joined the discord and they all seem like ondeful people so get in contact and give it a go if you're interested. I'd recommend looking into the voice chat settings in game as there are a few people who won't kill on sight if you speak and they normally have a few wisdoms to part with so just try to enjoy it as much as you can.

Cyclops or troll, don't attack it while practicing so you can focus on learning spacing. Actually look at the bosses hit boxes as it swings so you can get a mental estimate of what safe distance actually is. For ruins/crypts/inferno bosses, try running the 40% damage reduction from undead perk while learning
