If the druid is bad you can outspace them with a halbred or bardiche even if they are in bear, but usually they will just tree you in a door and try to bear stuff you, panther run you down when they know youre low hp

I am, and I have written my review of the game urging people to view and consider if they want to play it. Hopefully with enough negative reviews it may get the word out that several people cannot play the game. As far as I know the following people are effected:

Some motherboards,
Anything less than windows 11 (So windows 10 for example),
Linux,
Those with worse specs (Even if they can enter high roller, they say their PC cannot handle this season for some reason. Likely secure boot, etc... Idk for sure),
And those that don't understand how to do it (Skill issue).

But I just want to get the word out there so that people dont spend money on the game when they literally can't play it. That would feel bad, and something I want people to keep in mind.

I personally, am upset because I play on linux. Moreover, I have heard (no evidence, just word of mouth in the dungeons voip with randos) that most cheaters are either unaffected or have already found workarounds.

I don't plan to play much of this game, if my friends wanna do squire royale we can I guess. But besides that, there is no reason for me to play. Even if we get an artifact its not like I can even use it.

Most of the time back in the day. You didn't even have to cheat. You could just walk around and your game would lag when people were around.

Like I said tho, in my about 1200 hours of playtime only 10 cheaters. I think that people don't understand that unless you are a streamer with bis (SINCE YOU ARE ADVERTISING TO CHEATERS), you likely wont encounter them that often.

Eh its kinda how the game has always been. It is inefficient to fight on uneven footing. If someone gets the first hit on you, tatically you should reset. Its boring and I hate it, but that is simply how the game has ALWAYS been played. Because having the first hit on someone is so impactful.

Idk what to tell you then. If you are sure it is newer players then it seems like you just dislike newer players. You can always avoid them. normally when I played back in the day or even now. I would go to the best loot spots and leave anything else for newer players. I would say it is easy to outplay most people, or find some tactic to overcome this. But like, that usually comes after you have a LARGE AMOUNT OF TIME IN THE GAME.

Like, some easy tips to keep in mind. Keep at least like 2-3 rows of fran axes on barb (Since you mention crush)

Make sure to holster weapon when you are sure they outspeed you. Use mental quick math to cut them off or to find a better way to get to them. (Such as crouch jumping on a barrel).

Idk there are like 1000, little things that you need to know to really be able to counter fleeing. Sometimes, the best way is just to flee yourself and let them chase, before turning on them.

Knowing how to position yourself to get into a door someone is closing (If they dont know how to stop you). Knowing how to stop people from getting into a door you are closing (So you can flee if you need).

Taking off potion belts and waiting in a dark spot of a room, close the door as they walk in and kill them in the room.

Know how to side walk (Where you are pressing either A or D on your keyboard while positioning yourself so you can see the enemy while not getting a mv speed penalty).

Since the last couple of patches, I've noticed that my download speed for dark and darker was abnormally slow, and I still don't know why. By slow, I mean 1 hour got me 7% of the download.
For whatever reason, It would seem as though manually closing the launcher with task manager, and restarting the download fixes this.

Does anyone elses game crash the first several time they load into a match for the day?

this started happening a few days ago after i enabled secure boot, tpm2.0 and hcvi. based on the crash logs it looks like DAD is causing the crash at a CPU level, likely related to the interaction between the anticheat and the virtualization software in HCVI."

Previously it would incentivise people to weigh up if they wanted a trinket or the blue/green gear because one might net more than the other if you sold it on the market. This game is very fickle in how each fight ends up. One fight you will melt a fighter and think that you have enough damages and pen, but next time you die and see he is only 50%hp yet feel kike you hit the same amount of spells. Since everyone runs different builds and skills it can be hard to say 10% is worth it at all or an essential buff. I personally prefer the reg action speed or luck religions but I have forgotten to look at them this wipe so I'm unsure what the alternatives are

clerics reduce the damage you deal by flat 2, which is a hard counter to surv bow and explosive shot. He's effectively cutting your damage by 4 per shot, not including his PDR and projectile damage reduction, both of which are probably high. You might legitimately be hitting him for 5 damage.

the hitboxes themselves arent horrible, the problem is a little bit the netcode/desync, but mainly the complete lack of momentum or inertia of the player character. you cant lead shots in an intuitive way based on physics, its based on psychology. Is there someone shooting at them? aiming at them about to shoot? you have to consider that someone might instantaneously go maximum speed in the opposite direction, its just matter of when/where. hitscan is technically easier and more reliable, but again, if your estimating where theyll be based on their current movement, they can just instantly displace their whole body.

TL;DR: the game is tragic boof, but learn the boof if youre really that bored

It's a very suboptimal situation but 'Friendly Encounters' are bannable in HR. You don't even have to actively team up to break the rules. Something as seemingly innocuous as not killing someone while you both kill boss and/or loot pile, is bannable under the current rules.

Basically the least hostile you're allowed to be, in HR specifically, is if two or more people see one another and immediately part ways.
