Don't bother with your armor rating, just wear gear that works for you as a wizard. Knowledge/Will. As a wizard if you get in to a boxing match with a melee class you lose most of the times anyway, regardless of your armor rating.

Okay my bad, they changed it in a recent patch. Using it against mobs is no longer reducing their armor rating. It does however reduce physical power of mobs and bosses.

edit: I just checked the song on my bard and it got better against players but is no longer viable for PvE. Before it would reduce armor rating now it reduces physical damage reduction. But since you cannot go negative this way and bosses already have negative physical damage reduction it doesn't do anything other than reducing their physical power.

yes. they changed it from a flat armor rating decrease to PDR% decrease. mobs already have negative armor rating, and PDR decreases are multiplicative, so it does almost nothing now to PVE (by design)

i think you are mistaken, what's the point in running 30-40k kits to fight others then have 2 full rat teams swarming the surrounding doors waiting to grab bodies and leave. we have S2R and normals for that type of behavior. my point is there should be a limit to what you can bring in. its literally 2 weeks to end of wipe and everyone is running around squire trying to third party. to me sounds like nobody knows how to study the game and make money.

If you are losing 40k kits, to common gear, what would be the difference if we had a gear score bracket and you were running into geared players. You still would have died? The only difference is lobbies would be emptier than normal. People are saving their BiS for Arenas, and the workshops pulled BiS out of game modes because of the upgrade system.

Workshops, Religion, and this emote quest have drained players severely.

Plus a lot are saving for artifacts.

luck is good on things that will be in your hand when you kill a monster/open a chest/interact with a pile. things like lyre, flute, and weapons are good. nobody is really holding a drum while they loot and if you kill a monster with it, you threw it (no longer in your hands)

Berserker are easy, they have 2 attacks, left or right, if you're facing him, and his sword rises left side, you duck and strafe left, if it goes up on right side, you duck and strafe right. He repeats attacks iver and over so you'll just keep going side to side while ducked till he stops, and do the same thing when he starts attacking again

Inexperience will unfortunately always get you killed; nothing to do but watch guides and practice. It's a big part of why arena is popular, you can practice PVP without consequences there.

That's unfortunately a big part of pvp

You find out what the meta is for a given class
You either play around it or counter pick it, or choose skills to cover your own class's weaknesses

Each class has to either go all-on its specialization and be vulnerable to hard counters, or pick a skill or perk that counters their counter and be -slightly- less vulnerable

It's like a fire type Pokemon learning an electric move to counter water types, so players pick other non-water types to use the water moves, so the fire type has to learn which types can use water type moves and counterpick moves to deal with the most dangerous ones

This is pvp in a nutshell in any game

Druid is genuinely nice for learning the game in PvE since you can easily reset after every encounter, but the class has a really high skill floor to be used effectively in pvp as anything other than a healbot. Ignore the people complaining about the class being OP, it's only particularly strong if you build meta and are REALLY good at druid.

Honestly if you want an "easy" class then go for ranger
The skill floor is low with a high skill ceiling, you have to eventually get good at melee and range alike but you can mostly just maximize range focus. Maximize str and dex and have enough agi to kite, make sure to keep the knockback skill on your kit and youve got an "easy" class.

The catch is that you're hard countered by fighters with sprint and shield and barbarians with high MS and Iron Will, and you're a bit vulnerable to area denial. But, with rapid shot you absolutely melt things.

This is honestly why I recommend arena, or sticking to PvE until you've got a bit of gold under your belt

Don't let anybody shame you for playing a lot of PvE mode, it's fun and it's a safe way to build a stockpile without having to worry about losing your stuff

Off-BIS gear is cheap on the market right now because of end of wipe, so it doesn't take much to get a simple kit going
