I've been running druid and running around as chicken in squire to hero. I'm not allowed to use anything but chicken, rat, and human forms. I can only turn human to open doors and turn off lights. The goal is to escape without looting anything. I'm also not allowed to open the escape portal, I have to ninja it from another team. I basically end up running around rooster calling at every team until they chase me down and kill me. It's more fun than I've had in a while.

Bard is only ok in very specific good gear, which is true for EVERY class so that’s really dumb. Even then bards will still be run down by everyone

Barbs also have a meta ability right now called rage that gives them a speed buff for a short while.

For a new player, I'd suggest loading up a barbarian and seeing what they can do. That way you can counter them with more info.

no bc S2R is the only balanced game mode. Other wise it just a stat check simulator of who has better gear or who catches who off guard. My personal favorite way to play this game is in squire gear and to do bosses. The pvp is the most balanced the game will ever be, and most players in squires do not know how to contest boss, additionally in Norms or HR it is much more difficult to actually find teammates; so when you play solo the boss usually gets camped by a invis rogue who sneaks up on you.

Stat checking in normals is not as huge as it used to be though. I mean they can't stack true damage or movement speed. Anyway I think it's overall better for the game they pushed bossing to normals in HR because of the player base. Idk when the last time you tried running normals but it's often a Ghost town on some maps. I think this change will pull bossing players to normals. Personally I see s2r as pvp and I hate when I get teammates that just want to boss

I understand its mostly swimming simulator but that said the map is beautiful and the devs worked really hard on it to make it unique and i truly do love the water map. Even if you have to swim a little bit but there is ziplines that lead you RIGHT to both of the bosses and that is super nice for me bc u dont have to fight through hella rooms jus to even get to a boss

okay so my current run is a perfect exemple of why gear needs to be squished

I queue in, fight a bard as sorc, I hit him with the freeze and ele bolt, storm him, he 4 taps me with a surv, he is above half health.

He is in litteraly BIS blues with an inventory of ale.

Theirs, in that fight, nothing I couldve done better to kill that guy.And if he was in actual feasable gear, I wouldve killed him after the second time I hit him with the entire combo-kit.

depends. you build landmine w cutthroat and if something squishy walks by (sorc, wiz, druid) you just kill them. otherwise you creep around looking for bodies/3rd party fights

Spectral was the first boss I learned, and I learned him on sorc but had much better luck on fighter. His phase attacks can be determined by where he positions his sword. If his sword is off the ground, its a headswipe then feet swipe. If his sword is scraping the ground, its a feet sweep then headswipe
