Ok in that case it's less weird and the fact that he's a warlock means he has decent base MDR compared to other classes or training dummies. So, that one add does basically nothing and the 24% mpb cranks up holy strike to like 28-29 vs the 24ish it was at with your previous bonus so yeah it won't show as much

Added magic adds 1 flat damage after your bonus is applied (doesn't scale) but that 1 damage is then given a hit location mod (headshot or limb) if applicable, and also affected by enemy magic damage reduction. So with no headshot (holy strike) and a warlock base MDR of like 30% (antimagic doesn't work on divine), its giving u like 0.7 damage

No, because most classes do not have the MDR that warlock can stack. So, they don't actually negate very much magic damage, and stacking add mag outpaces MPB. If you have both, you are dealing more damage overall. Magic pen is a very very underpowered stat and not worth running IMO

Important to note that casting two spells is a 100% damage bonus, so spell casting speed is better in a lot of cases as well. Same applies to melee hits

I play warlock, full legendary, and always do magic power, additional magic, and will. Then depending on my build the other stats are headshot bonus, magic healing, strength, pdr. Whatever. But I always have those stats and am at like 40% magic damage bonus, hitting like a truck!

Sort of. At the upper end you'd be limited by what you could roll on a full set of maxed uniques. But after 50 vig you only get half the benefit per point so it's not really worth trolling trying to get more than that

If you complete quests for other vendors, the quality eventually goes up. Weaponsmith quests for better weapons. Armorer for better plate armor. Leathersmith for better leather armor. Tailor for better cloth armor and sash. Woodsman for better bows

Once you gain enough affinity with those vendors, you can get common grade squire items. But you need to redo your base kit using the white items once you have access to them.

That is to say- even if your squire has common items available to use, your base kit wont be automatically upgraded to use those items. It will keep using junk quality items until you redo your base kit with the common quality ones.
