I dont think SSF is generally sustainable for this version of the game. It doesnt fit well currently, and arenas being solo self found kinda sucks. Its cool buying some juicy loot and fighting with it.

Lets say hypothetically were going to absolutely include SSF mode somewhere in the game though (cause i think it does have a place in this specific genre)

A.) make it a "hardcore" permadeath mode thats selected upon character creation (kinda like hardcore ironman on runescape).

B.)In this mode - there isnt any group queue. Its all solo and self sufficiency.

C.) combine all of the maps into one insanely layered map with the pirate map as the starting point. For the pirate map you have to pick a ship that takes you to ruins or the goblin caves. There is no exit on the pirate map. Goblin caves will be the fastest path out, you can escape through that layer. The ruins still leads to crypts (portals out start here) and then "hell". Below hell is the ice map (some depictions of the lowest levels of hell consisted of cold temperatures rather than the flame/lava versions we typically see). This would create deep immersion, give logical reasoning to the pirate map and create continuity between all maps. Plus it would feel like a whole ass adventure. You can permadie while in any of these dungeons.

D.) create a duel mode where you 1v1 somebody with all the loot you find and you can win the other persons loot. This shit might go absolutely bonkers because its SSF anyways and just gives an insane endgame element. It would definitely be important to create balanced maps for this. You do not permadie here. The lore could just be that its a coliseum/winner take all type thing so youre left alive in just your underwear at the end LMAO.

The actual update is good imo. They connected the different modes. Made questing have a point. You can craft basically arena bis across all characters, find bis in raid to use. Very longevity loop. Implementing it mid season though is hot dumpster fire. And I don’t understand the point of being like okay you and your friends got to 2200 rating you need to play diff characters now. I also don’t understand why there still aren’t cosmetic rewards for arena rank

Arena Gear Change : So upset ! I'm the kind of player who only has 4-5h to spend per week gaming. Being able to buy gear and use it in arenas allowed me to have a good build in just a couple weeks. I haven't played Tarkov, this is my first extraction. My friend got me into ARC Raiders but I haven't done much in it. So whichever game wipes first will really test if this genre is for me, because I'm open-minded but I'm trying to visualize an empty stash, level 0 characters, and an untouched quest log after all this time and it gives me the same feeling of being told at work that the project I've been working on for months is gonna need to be started over.

I don't think a game like this has an end in any case, and that's fine. There's always more dungeon crawls, more loot to be found. If I ever want to limit myself or nerf my character I can always do a naked run, or start a new character. I've played plenty of other endless games that can slow down or get boring when I collect too much or get too powerful, but theres always an option to just start a new save without deleting the old one if I want to go back to it.

Lets say I'm getting steam rolled in pvp cus my gear sucks, and I can't get halfway decent gear because of overpowered players preventing me from extracting. Firstly, I wanna say that PvE and HR PvE gives me the option to get decent enough gear to hold my own, which solves that problem at my own pace. But lets pretend we got rid of the PvE. So I hop right back in the ring and start grinding, getting a good piece here and there every few extractions.
