Well, in original post I was actually thinking of the axe men, that's why I didn't specify the knife. The axe men are stupid. I am pretty sure they have two different throwing speed attacks where in one case you can look at them and just weave like any other day and another where it's windlass bullet. I legit have got lit up but them so much running on the rim of abandon ship as rogue. They just cannot seem to miss.

You bring up my past complaints about obnoxious designs and deaths as if it makes up any point at all. You're only seeing a few complaints from someone who put in 1880 hours into the game. Surely I've died and lost to countless other things and surely there must've been things that have been valid to complain about but didn't.

I'm complaining about things that I really think should be changed. The shark complaint I made was really early into the wipe and the devs DID make multiple AI reworks on the shark and CHANGED the attack pattern.
I don't think there's anyone who's going to disagree with Banshee being one of the most unfun bosses in the game.

And people did complain about rogues being in high up and stupid places back when ruins was rogue heaven and the devs DID change the map to have a invisible ceiling (for most of the modules) and I just happened to get rekt by a spot where the ceiling is literally crouch distance off to prevent positioning there. FYI I did send a bug report of that location to the devs with screenshots of the location and instructions on how to get there because I really thought they mistook it but who knows maybe didn't and I'd like to see you die from that place without being upset or mad because it really is unfair. Lastly, they DID change electric dash, back then it was omni-directional and didn't require a target circle at the aimed surface.

My complaints are valid because the things I did complain about actually got changed or are in alignment with changes done by the devs. That banshee complaint is agreeable by most of the community.

I am looking for the fastest way to farm xp besides quests. So far, doing a full 3 level ruins run seems to net me ~400xp whether it's normals or HR, so I stick to normals since I survive 95% of the time. Goblin caves with 2 bosses killed is only 150xp, while doing a fast wyvern takedown is ~200xp. I wonder if it's more effective to just farm the good chests instead.

it tends to be best to run 3rd level ruins and fill as many slots as possible as you do so, and try to get better items as you leave to replace the lower quality ones. fastest but not most efficient would be 1st level of any map though since they have so many exits lol.

yes but at least you can change your playstyle. You can decide to do boss or hunt down people. If you don't want to do the boss and there's no people, you can just leave faster. And plus when it's consecutively empty, you assume there will be no people. Somehow they show up in random matches, it would fix this thing too.

gob caves have ropes, ice caves boats, and drawbridge on ruins level 1 even in HR so it tends to be pretty fast if you dont get jumped.

although 3rd layer takes longer it def tends to be more worth it if you get good grabs for xp, like a whole legendary pavis xD.

It does! I just tried it, and I spend ~8 min on ruins for ~160xp (same as a full double boss 15 min run on goblin caves), I only looted a couple purples and blues. Thanks, this is much more effective than 30-40 min for 400xp

Can somebody explain why a cleric in full plate swinging a morningstar can keep pace with a 325 move speed rogue underwater? I love the water map but that was possibly the dumbest interaction I've ever had in this game

If they hit you once the hit slow is longer enough for them to keep swinging, otherwise they likely have Lightfoot boots and move speed everywhere else in their build

he will reset if you exit the room. if you want to try avoiding the phase transition, fight him on either long side of the room. when he says "Die", run away toward the far side of the room, jump to sheath your weapon, and press Rage. Fireball, Zap, ice bolt, invisibility and magic missile are the spells I like to use with ice mastery, ice armor, arcane mastery and quick chant as the perks. Intense focus as a skill to cast ice bolt faster to save yourself or fireball if you can hit them directly. Try to only fireball if you know it’s gonna hit directly. Magic missile headshots if you think they are low enough to finish off. Try to build additional or true magic damage even 1 extra magic damage makes a difference especially on magic missile because the 1 extra magic damage goes into every missile you shoot, plus the extra headshot damage you become a formidable opponent especially with ice armor slowing them down after they hit you

Okay so "base health" is determined by strength and vigor. At what point in the scaling does it make more sense to go for +health bonus rather than +max health? In theory there should be an actual amount where the average rolls favor bonus more.

for any class with high str and vigor always go max health bonus and try to get the frost zombie skin which increases your base health by +3 in arena kits that +3 can turn into a +6 with only a cost of -1.5% action speed

The nature of roguelites is that RNG is a big factor and you make the best of it. You can do some pretty consistent runs with roguelites when you know the system well enough to manipulate things but yea, it keeps it from being stagnant and forces you to engage. I get why that runs counter to basically practicing the same run over and over though. It's a different dopamine hit.

hence why i really liked having SOME maps be fogged, and SOME be static. So there was a place for both dopamine hits.
