it's already split. Many people do not enjoy pvp in this game, because the netcode is absolute donkey and everything is a statcheck.
In a post from months ago, before even hr pve was a thing IM admitted more than 40% of players was already PvE. It's why they game up with pve-hr.

Forcing those people into pvp ain't fixing anything about the split playerbase, it will just cause more people to leave.
give them their own loot/artifacts that can't be used on pvp. And be done with those artificial gear levels.

Druids control the game , they decide if you fight or not , they decide if u play or not . if they get hit once they decide they dont want to play and cross the map in 2 seconds , they re back 5 sec later with double dash again , thorn on them and they decide you have to play , the cycle goes on if they get hit again , repeat

I kind of wish this game had a higher TTK sometimes honestly.
I'm not asking for the return of the armor meta with unkillable fighters, but the game wears the DnD inspiration in its name. Yet combat rarely has the tactical feel of a tabletop fight and usually feels more like "Who will one/twoshot who first". Which in is usually whoever started the fight.
I mean maybe I'm delusional but it does feel like the classes people often find most annoying seem to be the ones that just kill instantly or near instantly.
Maybe I've just been really unlucky in PvP and haven't gotten to enjoy a proper strategic, more drawn out battle. I always either win or lose so quickly I barely have time to even process what was happening.
