That’s still an issue too . Other squish classes like rogue or ranger have to sacrifice inv space and pdr with no spells . Cleric has to sit while having almost no damage potential in spells , wizard has to meditate and sacrifice a slot to cast as well as some of their spells reducing their movement greatly . You can kill rogue in two poke . He’s still strong

rogue and sorc are the same, aside from sorc uses magic and rogue doesnt, and if played right they even play the same way, sitting back dealing damage slowly until they're low

either bear attacks are easily blockable, if you have enough dex then you can easily hit them after blocking then block their followup hit. Otherwise you can block then walk away and hit them when they start chasing you.
if theyre panther then you win that trade simply by holding mouse1 at them because panther doesnt outdps you. strafe away and use your morning star range if you need to.

I think you get red name when people give you negative karma reports. So you can get some good reports to remove redness or wait till the next wipe when your karma goes back to default value

roughly 1k hours here, came back to see why player numbers are up again and test the water map. Played it 3 times.
Not being able to perform to MOST BASIC action without issues you can expect a game to get working.
Trying to get out of the water, which is only the Game launching the character into the air with an impulse by 2 metres (Launch Character Z = 2 metres)
This method is EXTREMELY CHEAP and even I can make this in a Game Engine and you straight up release it like this without even playtesting?
You guys must fix this, it makes no sense and leads to players getting frustrated/ taking damage because you are just to lazy to make a Ledge Detector in your Character Blueprint. I don't even expect a full climbing animation for it, but please.
If you are swimming towards a wooden plattform, you must be able to easily and smoothly get onto it, without any issues, because there is always some creature chasing you.
Currently as I approach a wooden platform I press Space, the game launches me into positive Z, but my Character bounces off the plattform and pushes me 3m back into the water, slow swimming back to it costs time and patience.
That to me had no negative consequences, but it happened so often and made me just ALT+F4 the game.
I am just not playing season in a water map where you cannot get out of the water 4 of 5 times.
This method of getting out of the water is extremely cheap. For Rock ground, you can have the Z-directional Impulse, works, ok.
But for climbing on platform, for gods sake please make a Ledge Detector and not this wanky tilting launch character in some direction like a cannonball just to bounce off it, hit his head and drown.

That's right, 50% gets added to your physical power bonus stat. So if you have 50%, and then use the reinforced instruments perk, you will get to 100%. I don't know if it's capped, the wiki doesn't specify, the graph just happens to stop at +50%

These mindsets are what make games afraid to experiment and we lose out on cool new ways to play the game. They should spend time developing special modes, and at the very least events, to keep interest mid wipe. I would love to see more ways to play the game, whether that is raid bosses, pve expeditions, more arena modes, I personally would love full loot 1v1 arenas.

Games like League of legends, yes I know it's a much bigger game, come out with custom modes nothing like the base game all the time that end up being pretty fun, even if they usually are copies of other games.

Wizard Tower: Multiple level PvE experience with two main parts -

1.) Every 3 levels completed leads to a boss only level where players must defeat the boss to move on. Defeating the boss has a chance to drop rarer items depending on what level they are on. Level 21 would have a much higher chance of high quality gear than the level 3 boss. Players will compete in solo, duo, or trio teams to achieve the highest level cleared. Players start the run with squire gear and will gear up as they progress. Dying in the wizard tower puts you at the level after the most recent boss room. Doing Wizard Tower specific quests and events will grant you slightly increased starting gear - up to green or blue quality. You can choose to leave the tower with whatever gear/trasures you have acquired after each boss room. Leaderboards can be focused time to complete the entire gauntlet (when every boss currently in the game is defeated). Completing the gauntlet will give you a special item that starts a quest to craft one piece of extremely high value gear (artifact) and requires multiple clears to fully assemble.

2.) Raid Boss Events There will be limited time events where players can form parties of up to 5 or 6 to defeat extra difficult bosses. The gear you bring into this mode will come from the normal wizard tower modes where you've decided to leave after a boss or completed the entire wizard tower gauntlet. Only the most accomplished adventurers will dare to band together and defeat these monsters. Resets weekly.

Arena: 1v1, 2v2, or 3v3 PvP only matches set in different dungeon modules which are modified to allow players to showcase their selected class' strengths. NO PVE MOBS AT ALL. Arena should be PvP ONLY!!!!!! Design maps around different playstyles. There will be a leaderboard for most kills, highest arena rating, and most wins. Each month, there will be a tournament to crown the arena champion. At the end of wipe, there will be a big event for the top X number of teams to compete for glory and a prize. This can easily be broadcasted on twitch. Participating in arena matches will award currency - more for winning, less for losing.

Gear for arena will be slightly different than gear acquired through the dungeon or wizard tower. There will be PvP specific stats (similar to World of Warcraft's Resilience) that only impacts other players. For example, There could be a weapon that has +1 to swing speed or a doublet with +5% physical damage protection vs players. Something that will prevent players from just bringing in their BIS Wizard Tower gear.

Dungeon Crawler (PvPvE) - This will be the bread and butter of Dark and Darker. Players will be able to comb the different dungeon locations for location-specific gear and items, complete quests both for merchants and for in-dungeon or find NPCs hiding around the map in search of help. This mode will also be tied to the Gathering Hall where players can put bounties on others, form parties, or purchase consumables for their next adventure. There will be specific items only found in this mode and the related maps that are needed to complete quests, craft gear, or potentially decorate their hideout (if that's a thing in the future). This mode could also still include the continuous dungeon aspect by making it feel like you are actually gathering your party to go on an adventure that others may or may not already be part of. Mobs and bosses will be on respawn timers and each map type (crypts, goblin caves, etc) will be procedurally generated with the lore reason being that the land is littered with the remains of fallen kingdoms, monster lairs, and other things so you are effectively exploring different ruins of similar societies, groups, etc.
There will still be leaderboards for this mode around Treasure collected, bosses killed, players killed, bounties killed, etc.
This way you are only splitting the playerbase by 3 instead of what is going on now. This condenses High Roller and Norms into one and creates a more competitive atmosphere for each type of player.

There are certainly things IM could to to make sure people are still engaging with it through quests and gathering cosmetics for a "hideout". Overall though, I think the game needs other modes to keep it alive. There are tons of players who would go nuts over a competitive PvE mode and the Arena Mode would benefit those who love the combat.

ARENA RANT

I think Barb, Fighter and a lesser extent ranger, In my head, 50% of the playerbase plays these classes, me included. Overtime, with good gear, and good game mechanics/knowledge, you will eventually grind yourself to the top rank In Arena. I'll list some things about Arena.

MAP RNG: There are 2 maps this season that make a melee character just straight up useless.

COMP RNG: It's hard playing a barb and randomly getting a Bonk Cleric and Rogue vs Tripple ranged on a kite map (Maps that have a circle along the exterior, and an opened interior, making melee chase the ranged in a marry go round or hope for zone RNG each round) There's no skill involved in this. I've seen triple bard with the silence skill just W key down a trip caster comp.

So characters that are least affected by having a bad map, or a bad comp, will climb the easiest. Playing healing/spell damage cleric in solo is like B tier, but in a 3 man comp with comms that shit feels SSS.

Right now, the meta revolves around spell casters on the high end of arena. Cleric Wiz and Sorc/Lock there's not much you can do besides having a crack shot fighter/wiz hitting head shots. I climbed to 2600 on barb, but it started to slog down to a 60% winrate. Meanwhile I can climb to 3k plus on Wiz and Cleric, the former in solo play due to there never being a bad map, or comp for a wizard. Cleric was easiest because of playing as 3, where Earthquake and Locust Swarm can be the two single strongest spells with the right team comp.

TLDR: There's a high number of fighters and barbs and stuff on the leaderboards, but i rarely see them when I'm playing Arena at that bracket. I think it's because people simply play them the most. How do people feel about class balance for Arena this season? Or am I just having a different experience than others have had?

Regardless, any ideas on improving arena match making?
