I think it’s about 500 seconds. The reason why you got it later is because another player (the one you team killed) has to ‘punish’ you via the Karma system. They also have the option to ‘forgive’ you, or just not vote at all, in order to prevent you from getting the penalty.

And they have only one trick. Speed, Fire weapon, invis and run to the enemy.

The gear gap rn is still steap.its just reduced, it's pretty simplified rn for build paths. Get max health rolls on jewelry and cloaks, main attribute stats on everything else, with damage rolls sprinkled in. There are still 180+ health barbarians and 330 move speed rogue builds.

They want progression to be wealth, they want us being able to not only build a "bis" kit but have enough wealth to build multiple kits back to back, increasing the potential for rolls only makes them less accessible to more players. Stronger players will have more of an edge against poorer players and players with less time to grind.

A lot of dedicated players myself included, have lost interest because there simply isnt enough reward for risk when it comes to gear anymore. As you get towards the mid/lategame, you cant even feel an expensive upgrade ingame because the number difference is so small. The gap between what you invest and what you get is just so vast.

The biggest thing is that theres not the feeling of something to work towards. It was fun back with stronger gear, to reach midgame knowing that there were still tiers above you worth working towards. It was actually fun to snowball because overcoming a geargap meant something.

Im not saying return to the playtest era where you could get +3true and +3all on every single piece of gear lmao. But i seriously dont understand why they didnt stick with the gear as it was before semi wipe since general perception seemed to be that it was a good compromise between rewarding progression and balance.

When I first played the gear gap was insane, the difference between a junk dagger and green dagger was literally 50% damage. On top of gear being rare to find and rolls weren't even guaranteed they were 50% chance to roll per potential roll. Gear rn has meaningful impact, and the risk is much less. The complaints in the old version were nobody had gear, now everyone has gear. Rolls still give meaningful increases, 2-3% increases on rolls vs 5%+ across a full kit with max rolls you're still 70%+ stronger than base kit at the very least.

Not even considering named items making you invulnerable or adding 20+ damage to your attacks.

Ironmace was flip flopping while trying to bend over backwards to appeal to new players that statistically have low retention rates, eroding their longterm playerbase. The entire trajectory of the game since early access has been reducing the rewards for spending time playing the game.

The numbers of the early game hype were never going to last. A lot of gamers are trend chasers and hop from one to the other, but you will have a dedicated remaining playerbase that sticks around (maybe 10-20k for dark and darker). Then from that playerbase you can build it up through improving the product itself, not trying to change the product to appeal to those that were never that interested to begin with.

Rust (another rust comparison iknow) is one of the most successful games out there, and the core vanilla experience is tough and designed for tryhards (of which there are tens of thousands). The rust devs didnt compromise the hardcore, gear progression gameplay loop of their base game, but instead focused on improving the product. They added content upon content including lots of QOL, and early on added support for community variations of the game allowing a more casual playerbase to build up around the core game rather than reject their tryhard playerbase (of which the game was designed for).

Sure, but we're talking about BIS, if you want the baseline rolls increased so instead of 1-3 health we get 2-3 that's fine. 3 health compared to base stats is where we always have to compare. 3 health is 2-3% increased(100-150 base health) 3 health is 2-3%, with 4 potential rolls for 9-12% that's one roll, not counting base stats on items. With 20+ rolls at 2% per roll that's 40%-60%increase in stats, with item base stats counted that's an easily 100%+ increase in stats compared a base kit class.

Ive got enough to share, I've seen the devs fix metas before and release mad content. Naked meta is gutted, gear his meaningful but base kits still pull. PvE got harder and easier at the same time. Overall I'm loving the direction the game is headed.

I'm focused more on the game being developed over the developers, if the game goes poof that's just the way it goes. Most successful EA games are notorious for failing to meet deadlines. Project zomboid was worth every penny I spent on it and I still put 4x more hours on this DaD.

It's a ranged vs melee thing, I don't think they will ever get this right. It's like when I play fighter, I want any wizard, lock and sorc removed from the game. And when I play sorc/wl/wiz I want the opposite.

Barb can have 170 health, 40 dex, and 315 move speed. Then they get health after a kill and get stronger when theyre damaged. Its just broken and stupid. I dont have a problem with any other class in the game. Its just braindead.

You're right . Barb can be tank , fast , hardhitter at the same time and has no downside. He is better melee class then fighter and he is faster he can catch all squishy classes with achilles strike . Also has lot of magic resist . MDR and PDR must be completely opposite things . If you had PDR You cant run fast and you'll be weak againts magic. But barb literally best class in the game.

How can you look at the drastically dropping player count over the last year and still deny that the game is dying? People show up in Discord and pay attention to updates because they have love for the game and they're still holding out hope that it will get better at some point, but ever since patch 69 of last year we've been given very little reason to have any hope for the game, there's been almost no new content, and the playerbase has dropped by over 90% of what is was less than 1 year ago.
