If both players play it mechanically perfect, barbarian wins against any other class. Maybe rogues and druids can scape from him if they dont gat hit with aquilles. But they could not kill him

if a barbarian doesnt make a mistake, there is no class that can beat it in 1v1. It's unbalanced having to rely on someone making a mistake in order to have a chance

I might be biased since i play some ranger, but everything comes down to where the fight is taking place. I mean sure if the barb hits everything and makes no misstake he wins most of the fights

I rememeber there was a wipe when I gave up and started playing barbarian myself. I was killing people way better geared than me so easily and wiping lobbies with almost no experience on barbarian. I stopped playing it because it was feeeling fking boring. It is like picking Nasus in LOL

Im gonna go ahead and say that barb and melee cleric are actually the hardest to counter(in solo) unless they are nerfed to the ground. If a barb has patience and stands in a door with achilles there is simply nothing you can do. same goes for judgement+smite slow.. I even played solo caster judgement cleric yesterday, it was not fun to play, but loosing to ranged classes is entirely optional, just a matter of how long im willing to not peak the doorway im camping.

I think it honestly depends on how much move speed they have and/or how you play, if you push them you're asking for it but if they're just fast then there isn't much to do

Man, they caught up on me while I was warlock with 220 ms. I literally had no time to cast a spell. Casting a spell meant getting caught. And even not casting at all, just running with my hands, he caught me. Then I spectated him and not only was he able to catch me while I was with 220 ms, but he also had 180 hp. How is that fair?

So tell me how is it the easiest to counter. Even when I play rogue and bait all his combo I can only land 1 hit before getting out of range again, and even landing that one hit is risky as fck. If I throw him 6 throwing knives and hit him twice with the hand crossbow, he would still be half hp and he would still be able to one tap me in the head probably. And if he is not a fking dumb who only goes full w, and take his time to cover and heal up, all that kite for nothing. Explain to me how is that fair

Bassically any class have to do crazy manouvers to bait a barbarian hard enough to kill him. And if the barbarian has a brain, after he gets kitted he would just take cover and heal up. And how do you push Barbarian? if you cross a fking door, he might be waiting next to it with his bardiche prepared to one tap you

He could just pretend to be healing up, you get a bit cocky, push and die. Otherwise, he just heals up to restart his endless chasing.

oh, and if he kills he recovers 1/3 hp which is like 60 hp if he is geared, instantly. Super fair. Yes, easy to counter, sure. Best joke of the day

In arenas I have killed many barbarians as sorecerer too; but in the dungeon, where he can just run, take cover, hold a door and heal up, you cant just kill him

As sorc you can escape easy from a barbarian, but killing him? If he just runs from you while potting up, it is almost impossible. Chasing a barbarian as a caster is very dangerous, you don't know when he's going to be waiting for you next to a door

they just need to add weight to ms ratio, so everything you are wearing or handling should weigh you down. no more full plate fighters getting max speed from sprint and no more barbs catching you while swinging the heaviest weapons in the game. stamina would be nice too. so very little strategy in the game outside of ambushing people

If they cannot catch up, they cant kill anything. I dont think that is the solution. Fighters and barbarians should be able to catch up using their speed skills. But the ms penalty of plate should be increased for both, definitely. If they wanna have high ms, they should give up tankiness

But having both tankiness and high ms should not be a thing.

it would be just like any other class, you need to find new ways to engage in fights, it makes no sense that every class, spec the one hitters should be able to all max out MS, there needs to be a sacrifice somewhere in there

This is exactly what happened to me 2 wipes ago. I got tired of the barbarian meta in solos and I started playing it myself. I was wiping lobbies in HR, making more money than ever by just killing ppl. I ended up quitting the game out of boredom. I just find it a boring class to play. It's fun for a while destroying everyone so easily and win 70-80 % of the time, but the gameplay gets boring after a while

The other day I lost a 3k kit on druid to a squire barb. He had aquilles and landed the first hit, after that I couldnt hit him because I basically couldnt move. After aquilles ran out i was 1/5 hp so i went rat and he was lucky enough to hit me with the 3rd hit of bardiche while i was on rat

It doesnt make sense that after they use aquilles, it stays on until they hit something. It should be like boc, it should run out if they dont use it within 6-7 seconds

There's nothing more stressing that a barbarian chasing you with aquilles on. You know that aquilles is going to be on until he gets his torch on you

Idk. The main thing that differentiates hydra from the others imo is its ability to be placed in specific locations and stay there, while also projecting threat. Its by far the best of the 3 summons for longer door-centric fights

The solos are converging on one another to try and get a team to go wipe players bossing. If you are bossing as well, you are bound to meet those unionized little miners in the goblin caves. If you do other objectives besides bossing, you are actually most likely to meet other solos a vast majority of the time

So if I understand correctly, like in pretty much every game, toxicity is a thing here too. Even the players who used to run trios because they are 3 now queue solo and group up to wipe the lobby.
(The difference being that solos teaming up don’t use Discord, so they’re less coordinated.)

Result: almost no one plays trios anymore, and solo mode turns into a gangbang.

I think the main issue that would fix everything is making the test servers actual test servers which i know a lot of you have said and sdf can test and expand on the vision promised whilst we enjoy the current game how we like it that’s quite literally all that needs to happen

matchmaking update should’ve been on test servers first instead of just trying these new updates and things to the game constantly reverting it back and changing it when you could use the info and data from test servers to cherry pick the main features players would be okay with getting added given the current state of the game

i can appreciate sdf wanting to constantly refine the game and make it a unique experience with content but each wipe shouldn’t be a playtest and that’s basically what it feels like these experimental changes need to be in a controlled environment and not in the main game, such as the test servers which is what this controlled environment for playtesting should be

Yeah I in some aspects miss pre-S4 when continuous matchmaking is not yet out. Tho admittedly queueing time is WAY shorter today but you ain't ganked asf by multiple teams queued subsequently into the same lobby after you eliminate a team.

A solution might be to reduce the current session lobby capacity when someone dies of PVP, i.e. if you kill someone, there won't be more teams queued in just to gank you, so you feel an actual benefit and safety

I am so incredibly sickened by the whole "we brought solos back" thing when its blatantly just sdf trying to SAY he's listening to the playerbase while still trying to keep the game the way he thinks it should be: trios only. well guess what sdf? we don't have employees who we can make play with us whenever we want a team, in fact, many of us prefer playing solo, because then we don't have to deal with the bull*(apparently I can't use this word)* that comes along with teammates, we can just do our thing the way WE want to.

I play a lot of rogue. I run a bunch of hide perks and lockpicking and basically just try to farm chests to make money so that I can play fighter, which I prefer playing, but can't make as much money with. I use the rogue to funnel money to the fighter to buy kits with, because imma be honest, I'm not stellar at pvp, and I admit it. So I hit chests as a rogue to make money to play fighter.

HOW THE (apparently I can't use this word) CAN I HIT CHESTS WHEN THE ENTIRE "SOLOS" LOBBY IS JUST THREE-STACKS OF MURDERHOBOS RUNNING AROUND?

The beauty of this game was the loot. The glorious gamble for the gold, knowing that things could go wrong at any moment and you would have to do your best to react. Now there is no anticipation of things going wrong, there's just a flat acceptance that things are wrong from the beginning. There is no thing as a "fair fight" anymore. When I go into solos and try to team with another solo who appears to be friendly, they act like they're gonna accept, hold their hand out until they're in bardiche range, and then swap from the handshake to a swinging weapon. They're probably doing this because its been done to them, its the way it goes. This is literally just turning into a minecraft anarchy server where everybody betrays everybody for a crumb of valuables only to lose it themselves to the next wave of barbarians, and in the end, one group gets lucky for what is probably the first time in 4-5 runs, and the other 15 people who fought are all dead and *(apparently I can't use this word)*ed off about how they can't get a balanced fight.

There needs to be a way to play the game without having to expect that getting out alive is a rarity. I used to go for like 5-6 runs before someone would finally wind up killing me and taking all my stuff. Now its like 5-6 runs before I can finally get out with anything. I literally just came from a run where I did everything right, was evading players, had an inventory full of purples and legendaries, and was literally at the drawbridge that I had opened, on my way out, and I got one-tapped, 100% to dead, by a single arrow from a skeleton archer. Why should rogues have enough health to take a single hit? This is balanced. This is healthy for the game. (sarcasm intensifies)

I don't get it. Ironmace had a masterpiece of a game. It was to the point where people were complaining about the balancing of the RAREST ARTIFACTS IN THE GAME. Ironmace had it to a point where the biggest thing people complained about was something that most of them would never experience. Ironmace had it working. But then they threw all that away and literally returned the game to exactly the way it was 2 years ago. Why? Because one dev got (apparently I can't use this word) because the game had been largely designed by another person. SDF wanted to be able to claim the game as his own accomplishment, so he took it back to a blank slate so he could do it himself, purely for his ego.

The best reccomendation you're going to get atm is unfortunately to just play a different game. This game is at the point where people I have played with who have 3k+ hours in it are leaving because its just not playable (not to mention the enormous amount of other players posting on reddit that they have ?k number of hours and they're leaving) I joined this game at a time when a lot of people were saying a similar thing, and its worse off now than it was then by an order of magnitude.

I get that, I put 550+ hours into this game between january and may, but its just in a horrible spot right now.

At the end of last wipe, I taught my girlfriend the game, and got us both BIS unique kits (not pvp bis, but they were insane for PVE, full unique stacked towards vigor, dex, and strength. Not metabuilds, but fun to play with against mobs)

During the last night I was able to trade some kits I had accumulated over the wipe to get fulgors for me and my buddy, and strangely enough my GF had her heart set on a stinky stick, which we got too, which we ran till the servers closed. I think that was the peak of the game for quite a while.

I just want gamer tags for teammate it’s so difficult trying to tell which Druid is your teammate

some devs can't do proper game. its We add someting>change back>add back>delete it>add back, and its same from alpha test 2... we don't have anything new in this game just same things but deleted/added back

I wouldnt say it has fully returned. I play mostly goblin caves, which i think lets you avoid teams the best.. but if you ever take a downportal there wouldnt be alot of solos there i would assume..
