Right now it feels like a battle royal since gear doesn’t matter at all. That’s why currently it doesn’t feel fun. It was enjoyable for two days going into normals as ranger and wiping teams. But then it got old. I havnt even been playing games cause this game is pretty much the only thing I play.

Edit I enjoy the looter extraction type game. I’m tired of battle royals. That’s why it’s not fun to me.

But you have to understand the complaints people are talking about is killing the game. The game has dropped drastically in numbers. I was playing quietly and found a barbarian and I don't feel like playing anymore. I play fighter with 120 HP and the barbarian with the bardiche got me one hit and killed me, everything is horrible. Either a ranger comes along that takes away all your health with each arrow, a mage that you can't touch even once because he has an ability for everything, or a fucking barbarian that oneshoots you. GG Dark and daker.

listen bro you are entitled to your opinion just like a majority of the playerbase is entitled to their own, a majority of the people giving massive feedback and distaste to the direction of the game over the last year are the most passionate and vocal people with 3-4k hours+ onto the game.

here's the thing - this is a PRODUCT, you have to pay to experience the full thing, because of that, we as consumers are allowed to give feedback especially when the community manager comes into the discord to tell people "hey guys just a heads up before, everyone would go against SDF's ideas and we would do what the community wants. NOW? we are all blindly following SDF no matter what he does because we believe in him."

they can run the game into the ground for all i care. i got my $30 worth from playing the game for 2.5k hours. but you know what would be cool? continuing to make an enjoyable game instead of bait and switching a majority of their playerbase by removing the most popular queues, bringing people in by advertising adventure mode then rug pulling it during the same season once people came back and MAYBE DECIDING to keep it due to everyone pointing out how terrible of business practice that is from people spamming the discord for 3+ weeks straight.

There's no need to balance a map dude, only bug fixes, the map has no skills and deals no damage.
The queues were removed because it was impossible to balance three queues with the same numbers/modifiers.
He even said that he might in the future launch solo again but as a standalone queue then balance would be possible

what they need to do is to make an open map, similar to other mmo games and make each dungeon a place where you go to in the open map and you must have a token to gain entry which you recieve via content on the open map. they could then change the required party size for each map so that would minimize the amount of queues they have to satisfy. In the open map they could create a mechanic to build, construct and maintain a base or lair where you can store loot and then there could be towns where the merchants live and you have to risk the resources you want to spend by physically travelling to said merchant to craft or purchase resources, that way its not just at the click of a button and infinite.
Characters would have to be different as well; everyone would recieve a general character just like runescape or new world and for gear it would be a solo self found sort of game. Then, through combat, exploration, quests and gaining exp on the open world map or in the dungeons, you can then specialize youre character through a skill tree. you could make quests boost certain parts of skill trees as well which would reintroduce the grind factor for long term players and also allow short term players to target certain higher skills faster.

this game is an awesome game and you have a lot of players waiting to start playing again once ironmace stop running it into the ground and start developing new fun shit.

Those things you mentioned are a huge corner stone of the game. It's meant to be played that way. Longsword is supposed to be scary to fight against. This is a melee based game you arent supposed to carry yourself with ranged attacks

This comment is true. The issue is actually true damage. When true damage existed, weaker weapons like rapiers were king, because you could have +10-20 true damage on weapons that hit 3 times whenever the 2-handed ones hit once. But now that TTK is lower and there's no true damage, the big weapons do far more damage overall. The nerf is well deserved AS LONG as IM doesn't bring back true damage and move speed.

The loot buff was definitely needed. Might be slightly overturned but compared to the last patch, it’s much better.
The solo playerbase was alienated, can’t deny that. Although I don’t agree with the direction, the current state of gear with no rolls makes sense for the direction the game was intended to go (trios)
With no modifiers, players HAVE to sacrifice stats in favor of a particular build. That would mean your other team mates build for the stats you lack. It emphasizes team comps. With previous state of modifiers, an individual could essentially become a raid boss. No need for a team when you possess all the stats of a trio.
That being said, the test server currently has one random modifier, and I feel like that’s the best balance. While the base stats of gear was increased, every class regardless of the gear still feels underwhelming. One modifier will allow slightly more fleshed out builds without being too over powered.
EDIT: And let’s be honest, it’s a loot extraction game. PvP for gear or bossing/clearly modules for gear is the gameplay loop. The gear needs to have meaning, and modifiers is exactly that.

It's not broken but the playerbase is at it's all time low. SDF recently "took over" and is forcing his vision to everyone. He did very bad stuff like removing Solo and Duo queue, removing random attribute and didn't communicate properly about why he was doing that and what was he end goal, what his "vision" was in concrete terms. Recently he finally manage to explain what he was doing and why and imo it's promising but the execution of his plan is hideous. If you want to have more detail you can take a look at the message he sent like 2-3 day ago on #sdfs-kitchen

It's probably going to end up like that, everything in the middle being a huge waste of time.
I like the long term thing he talked about : Give less importance to PvP and gear farming, Giving wealth more importance and add new feature and gold sink to grind like the talent tree, housing and guilds. But what he's doing now with gear, TTK and Solo queue make no sense to me. Removing all random attribute is too extreme unless you have an alternative ready to test, and removing Solo when you just added a new gamemode (PvE mode) and plan to add a new map (adding a couple more queue) is terrible

@vagrant bone Well they did turn to many knob but right now they reverted core thing putting everything back to 0 and that's why people are mad. But the end goal look promising, so if they can afford to make most of the player base, work on what they want to do for a couple month and they "reboot" the game then why not. But it could have been done better, they have a fkn test server and just refuse to make it right (all class lvl 20, open to steam user, max affinity on merchant, easy access to gear etc, reward for people using it) and use it
